The Last Dogma

WW Edition / The complete soundtrack is now available on YouTube

The game is now named "The Last Dogma - Wilder Wein Edition" to reflect many significant updates it got since release.
I didn't post any updates in the last months due to lack of feedback, but now it seems there are problems with Chapter Select menu and some new in-game texts, which will be fixed in the next patch.
If you found some bug or a typo, please let me know.

Soundtrack DLC is now available on YouTube:

DRM-Free Standard version of the game is now upgraded to Deluxe. Which means that the soundtrack is now available for FREE (I love when people spell it like that, like "free" is a magic word) for all buyers of non-Steam version:

The Last Dogma 1.6 LA is now available for Windows

The new big update is now available. It features new terrain textures, rewritten dialogues, different character movement, graphics bug fixes and many other things. See more details in the previous announcement.

Linux version will be uploaded soon.

The next update most likely will be the last one.

News about the next update - Textures, Movement and No Guns (Late Access)

I'm back working on the game, despite not having any motivation to do so (Valve, US laws and banks take more than 50% of all money I earn on Steam, which is very devastating).
There are just some crucial things need to be done to make the game better which I want to do for the game's sake and for people who still didn't play it.
Textures, for example. I'm currently changing all in-game textures, especially the ones which were very low-res (like 512x512).

This how terrain on the first level looks now:

And this is how it looked before:

Most importantly, these new textures still create the same atmosphere of desolation which I wanted, despite being more "bright".

The character movement was changed significantly and the new movement system feels somewhat similar to The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Speaking of which, the game as whole moves to the side of being "walking simulator", just the very first level is no longer has any enemies and weapons.

I'll change the title of the game to "The Last Dogma - Late Access" until I finish working on all these new updates. It's not "October Edition" anymore, obviously.

Director's Cut Announcement

I'm working on the final big update for the Unity4-based version of the game (which will be labeled "Director's Cut"). After that I'll be working on a Unity5-based remake and looking for a US publisher to release it (I'm done with marketing and I don't want to deal with atrocious Steam payment system anymore).
Transiting from Unity 4 to Unity 5 can just kill the game (messing up every single object and make all scripts obsolete), so Unity5 remake might be in development for months or won't be released at all (if I won't find the publisher).
Fun fact: transiting from just Unity 4.2 to 4.3 back in a day destroyed the project completely (at least I had a backup).

So...

Planned features / goals for Director's Cut:
- Alternate version of the main campaign without any shooting (with an alternate story) + some other plot changes
- More polish (including fancy animated interludes), more consistent style
- Bigger levels
- Need to make sure there aren't any spelling errors / typos left, for that I'm looking for a third proofreader
- Updated sounds / graphics / GUI / controls
- New videos / updated old ones
- System which will inform you how many secrets you found on the level (at least there would be a pop-up saying what secret you found when you find it)

What most definitely will be in Unity 5 remake:
- Better graphics with physics-based shaders (because we are all know that 99% of people play 3D first person games for cutting edge graphics)
- Controller support
- Mouse invert
- New characters / secrets
- More animations / effects / scripts
- Fuck if I know, time will tell

Update 1.5.2 Is Now Available for PC

New 32 mb is now available. It's practically a big fix for the first level, which changes its color palette, image effects, player movement and also includes some other minor things. I wasn't satisfied with colors there and Glow effect was too heavy. I'm not a fan of Glow Effect in games, but it's an essential component for the first level to create an atmosphere I wanted. I hope I managed to reach a compromise with Glow settings in the new update.

- Color correction on the first level (now everything looks different and has much more bright colors, more pleasing to the eyes)
- Dialogue with laughing cultist is now different and fits new writing direction
- Gun animation parameters have been changed (first level)
- Bloom has been disabled (first level)
- Gloom has been heavily reduced and now has different color settings (first level)
- Fall damaged has been removed (first level)
- First level object fixes (size, shininess, etc.)
- Shader fixes (first level)
- Small main menu fix ("cartridge" replaced with "developer commentary")

- Changed the line "near Koslovo" to "somewhere near Koslovo"
- Dialogue fix for cultist Nikolai
- Minor camera changes
- Splash Screen 2 is now removed

+ something else, I'm sure of it
