The Last Hero of Nostalgaia

Patch Notes 1.3.41

As always the team are working hard to fix bugs as quickly as possible. We thank you for your continued feedback and we appreciated you raising these issues with us.

Bugs Repaired:

- Fixed a bug where the game can soft lock while resting at the beacon before narrator boss fight. if an enemy comes up the lift with you.
- Fixed a bug where equipping a different left hand weapon deleted the current left hand weapon until the load is done, leading to strange behaviour.
- Fixed a bug where you could equip weapons during a remember process, leading to a game break if you equip shields in the right hand.
- Fixed a bug where player sometimes spawns naked and becomes unable to move if their equipment config breaks.
- Fixed the issue where the old man doesn't show up in the tunnels to give you the go flat ability . Also retroactively fixed this for people whose game is in a broken save state.
- Fixed a soft lock that happens if the Reservoir unburdens your armor while you wear it.
In MP, clients will now break any z-target when being forced onto an elevator, fixing a broken player state issue.
- Fixed a bug where Nhero's shield doesn't update for the client in MP when the host gives him the shield of inspiration.
- Fixed a bug where the bikini armor's remember location was incorrectly set.

Updated:

- Changed it so that after the king death sequence, all tethering/return to beacon items are reset to the moat. The goal here is to prevent people from using a "return to beacon" and warping far away from the needed narrative flow.
- Changed it so that the beacon tether tutorial appears when you hover over the button, because we think some people were not pressing it out of confusion.
- Added warning when entering mines for the first time if you don't have the hammer, because we were having TONS of reports of people going through the game without upgrading their weapon.
- Increased Chinese font size in menus, after a negative review pointed it out. Much better now.

The wait is over! The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is now available on Steam and Xbox

The wait is over! We’re ready to take a trip into a world suffering from a spreading pixelation. The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is now available on Steam and Xbox.

We’ve been eagerly anticipating players delving into this unique adventure for many months now. With the recent response at events and the release of the public demo, it seems you’ve been pretty eager too.

The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is a soulslike with a twist. You still level up stats, fight fearsome bosses, and pick a class to suit your skillset but Over the Moon Games have done things a little bit differently.

For one, there’s full online co-op so you can brave the elements together. You need to help people (and items) remember their true value so they can achieve their full potential. Oh, and you also have to contend against a narrator who really hates your guts. If Stick Heroes even have guts, that is..

There’s humour to be found, familiar sights to be seen, and a whole range of places to visit, most of them treacherous, filled with peril, and cows falling out of the sky for some reason.

The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is now available on Steam and Xbox for £19.99/$24.99

🗡️🛡️The Last Hero of Nostalgaia releases October 19, Demo Now Available! 🛡️🗡

Over the Moon, Coatsink and Thunderful are extremely excited to announce that you’ll be able to take a trip to the pixelated world of video games in The Last Hero of Nostalgaia from October 19, 2022!

With full online co-op from beginning to end, five distinct classes to choose from, as well as a whole host of strange realms to explore with Easter Eggs and well-kept secrets to uncover, you may never want to leave.

The Last Hero of Nostalgaia has been a labor of love for Over the Moon and this is their tribute to the Dark Souls series, with a heavy focus on well-polished mechanics, fully developed characters, and an over-arching humorous narrative filled with wicked twists and turns.

In Nostalgaia, everything has collapsed backward into a mysterious pixelation with every particle of fidelity bleeding away. As the lighting dims and the frames diminish, one final hope emerges as the world itself seems on the very brink of extinction.

As the most hideous pixelated hero to ever spawn in Nostalgaia, you must fight through an army of mindless inhabitants, all while being jeered by a cynical narrator who despises your very existence.

With a plethora of reference filled suits of armor and familiar weapons, each with their own unique lore and attributes you must ‘remember’ in order to unlock their true potential, you are all that stands in the way of the land of Nostalgaia disintegrating into nothingness.

The best part is you don’t need to wait until October 19 to visit. We’re also very excited to announce that we’ve just released a demo for The Last Hero of Nostalgaia which you can download for free on Steam right now! This explores the opening portion of the game and lets you get a feel for this rich and complex world.

You can even come visit the Thunderful booth at EGX in the ExCel Center, London this weekend and play it with us!

And don’t worry, we didn’t forget our friends on Xbox. If you’re looking to play there, pre-orders will open from October 3!

Let us know if you’re up to the challenge and how you get on! If you dare…

👾🕹️ The Last Hero of Nostalgaia comes to Gamescom! 👾🕹️

New Trailer shows Trains, Rainbows, and a closer look at Co-Op!

Ahhh, another would-be hero! Welcome to Nostalgaia, a land of high stakes and low fidelity!

The world of video games is suffering from a spreading pixelation, rendering everyone and everything into decay. While many sights and sounds will be welcoming and familiar, at Gamescom you also got a closer look at the dangers that await, like the terrifying and perilous bosses and trains steamrolling out of thin air! 🚂

Fortunately, you don’t have to tackle those challenges alone as the Gameplay Trailer also gave you a closer look at Online Co-Op. You and a friend can team up right through the campaign with a buddy able to hop in and join you at any point.

The eagle-eyed among you may have even recognised a thing or two looking at the armor, weapons and environments. And if you didn’t, maybe it’s time for a rewatch.

IGN Official Trailer - Gamescom 2022

We’re looking forward to sharing a release date with you very soon but the good news is you’ll be able to explore this dark, twisted and complex world later this year on Steam and Xbox.

Satirical souls-like The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is coming to Steam in 2022

Just announced, the wicked, twisted satirical souls-like, The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is coming to Steam in 2022.

The world around you is collapsing back into a mysterious pixelation and Nostalgaia needs a hero. Which is where you come in. Hopefully.

The trouble is you’re not the high fidelity hero the people want. In fact, you’re a mere stick hero that can barely hold a sword and shield, but you’re the only hope that they’ve got.

The Last Hero of Nostalgaia is a love letter to games such as Dark Souls and takes players deep into a world full of cherished gaming memories. You might even spot an easter egg or two.

During your adventure you’ll fight challenging bosses, uncover various pieces of armour - each with their own unique lore - all while being mocked and jeered by a cynical narrator who loathes your very existence and will be disapprovingly watching your progress every step of the way.

The odds will most certainly be stacked against you but we’re confident you’re up to the challenge.

To keep up to date on all things Nostalgaia, make sure to check out our sparkling new website - though we can’t be responsible for any time lost playing with that fidelity slider!

Join us in 2022. If you dare, hero...
