Small Update For German Version - National Anthem Removed

The German national anthem has been replaced with the marching song 'Wehrmacht - Erika', in both the game and video trailer on Steam store page.

It's A Game, Not A Political Statement

Happy Saturday everyone. In light of the German release and all the talk in the community, I wanted to address a few issues some people have had.

During development, I knew that a game which takes place in WW2 would be a controversial theme. The past few weeks have been an explosion of political debates and discussion regarding some of the content in this game. Many people have discussed their concern about the fact that you play the role of a German soldier on the axis side. I have mentioned before that one of the reasons for developing that part of the campaign was to have the player see through the eyes of a soldier on the other side of the fight. However, in the end, the real reasons behind this decision actually doesn't go that deep. I'm a game developer, the main things I'm focusing on are, fun, empowering, immersiveness and originality. In the case of Omaha beach, I knew I wanted to do a level with this historical battle. However, I didn't want to do the same 'Saving Private Ryan' theme which has been done in every other WW2 game. I was messing around with a few ideas when I came up with the idea of placing the player in the bunker. The instant I started playing, I knew this was perfect for room space VR, lots of fun, and felt very intense.

My decisions for this game and future games are not based on whether people may be offended or not. It is completely based on the things I stated earlier; fun, empowering, immersiveness and originality. If Grand Theft Auto started making changes based on what people are offended by, the game simply wouldn't be Grand Theft Auto. It's the same for this game. This experience offers the point of view from both sides which is one of the main themes and highlights of this game.

Upon publishing this game, I made sure to make players aware of the content in the game in both the description and the trailer. The description states that you play the role of a German machine gunner on Omaha beach. When buying a game, you should never expect to be able to skip a level in a campaign, except through cheating.

Overall I've been completely blown away by the overwhelming support I received for this game. You have exceeded my expectations and I cannot wait to bring you more exciting titles!

The Last Sniper Is Now Available In Germany!

I am happy to announce that The Last Sniper VR is now available in Germany! Back in August during release, The Last Sniper was banned from Germany from Steam stores due to the Swastika and song used. To show my appreciation for Germany I made a censored version.

Changes To Censored Version:

-All Swastika flags modified to Iron Cross.

-Nazi anthem 'Die Fahne Hoch' removed.

Those are the only changes that were made! Enjoy The Last Sniper VR!



PS, those who are in other countries still get the same uncensored version.

MASSIVE Update 1.1 Now Live! - New Content And Features/Fixes!



Content:

-New level has been added to campaign. Play the role of a special agent, with one objective. Kill the fuhrer! Experience and explore the large open environment in the beautiful Alps of Berchtesgaden, Germany. Infiltrate the Eagles Nest and take out the target! Be careful not to get noticed, or your job becomes much more difficult!

-New game mode called, 'The Hunted'. Battle 1v1 with AI snipers which spawn in a random locations. Each sniper you kill, a new and much more difficult sniper is sent to hunt you down!

-New weapons. Use the pump action shotgun in Rush mode and campaign level The Last Stand(Oh man is it ever satisfying!). Use the silenced .45 Pistol in the new Eagles Nest level.

-Nazi soldier textures have been given a make over. Uniforms are more accurate looking to a WW2 era German soldier.



Changes/Fixes:

-Omaha Beach has been nerfed! AI are less accurate and machine guns spray has been slightly decreased.

-Many tweaks and changes made to AI. Pathfinding is now fully dynamic with the ability to correctly navigate to moving targets. Many other small behavioral changes were made.

-Accuracy bug in stats has been fixed. Problem occurred because headshots were tracked as 2 hits(Sorry guys, turns out your accuracy wasn't 125%)

-Full body collision added to player in Paris level. Player was missing body collision and could only be hit in the head from enemy fire. The levels difficulty is now slightly harder now that your body can be hit.

-AI in level The Last Stand(Rush mode), now navigate to both sides of the players barricade, making it much more difficult for the player to camp the floor.


The BIG Update Is Coming Soon!

The big one is coming everyone! I cannot give away too much information at this time, but expect a new mission, game type, and many fixes/new features! Expect to see this matter of weeks! Get stoked people!

Update - Improvements To Scope/Aiming And More!

- Scope & view size have been increased significantly for easier viewing.

- Scope FOV has been increased slightly.

- Aim smoothing further increased for more steady aiming.

- AI reaction time bug fixed. When AI were in patrolling state the reaction time
was instantaneous when alerted to player.

- Room center changed for Paris level. Previous position hung off the edge of building too far.

Free Demo Released & Small Update!

Free demo is now available. Play as a rogue sniper in the streets of Paris during the surrender of France and get a short experience of what it feels like to be The Last Sniper!

A Small update was added to both the demo and full game as well.
-Rocks now take less force to kill enemy when thrown.
-Bug fixed where mission would not complete on the small chance an AI gets stuck.

First Update Now Live!

Hello, the first update is now live. I have been listening carefully to everyone. I worked hard to make a quick update prioritizing the most requested fixes that were possible to make in good time.

- AI have been improved. Enemies will now duck and cover behind obstacles. Enemies also now play hit animations and react to getting shot. A few other small behavior changes and fixes were made to AI.

- Hit box detection bug has been fixed. The issues in hit detection were caused by floating collision left over from dead enemy heads which would block bullets(ROFL!).

- Head shots now make a more loud distinct pop sound, letting the player know he has a confirmed head shot. Head hit box size has also been increased a slight bit.

- Small changes have been made to some of the levels. With AI having duck and cover, some extra obstacles were added, and a few layouts changed.

-Some bugs in player stats were fixed. Specifically accuracy and shots fired in the first mission.

- Weapon aim smoothing slightly increased.
