NEW STAR: RAVAGER
Ravager's destructive power was so rampant that he was removed from official service for felling too many allies. It is said he fell seven times as many foes, however.

  • Core skill #1: Unleash a torrent of homing, exploding projectiles.
  • Core skill #2: Strike a single target for big damage.
  • Ravager in unlocked in Dark mode.


OTHER

  • Splinter particle effects fixed.
  • Locked Tier 4 chests now have a lock.
  • Some minor changes.

HOW TO PLAY

  • Find The Last Sunshine: Rekindled in your Steam game list.
  • Right-click on The Last Sunshine: Rekindled and choose Manage, then select Browse Local Files.
  • Double-click on the file named "thelastsunshine.exe" (not "The Last Sunshine.exe" which is the Rekindled version).


NOTE!

  • The original The Last Sunshine has no support. Bugs will not be fixed.
  • There are several links to external websites and forums from the main menu that either does not work or are deprecated. These are not monitored.

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • The "taking-damage" effect is now more apparent when taking damage from AOE sources.
  • You can now skip the credits.
  • Cosmic Bridges should now spawn more often.
  • Minimap now shows miniboss rooms.


BALANCE

  • Elite enemies should now drop correct amounts of loot.
  • Bulwark smoky bullets now drain HP instead of doing instant damage and disappearing.


OTHER

  • Bullets from Titans Limpets Attack Skill had their color tweaked. It's now easier to differentiate them from Titan.
  • Power & Mana nodes in the Passive Tree are now correctly named Mana.
  • Minimum Boss portal spawn-chance increased from 1 to 2.
  • Dash and Barrier Utility Skills should no longer drop from Chests.


BUG FIXES

  • Dark Boss 2 portal should now take you to Boss 2 and no longer transport you to Zone 3.
  • You should no longer be able to Continue right after beating Boss 3 (for real this time).
  • Normal chests no longer have healthbars.


KNOWN ISSUES

  • Mini-map might not always show arrows to unexplored rooms.
  • There is a chance for an enemy to spawn in the Void.
  • It's possible in certain situations to Blink into the Void.
  • There is a chance for the hazard in Dark mode to block passages.

PERFORMANCE

  • Performance during the Boss 2 fight should now be better.
  • General performance improvements throughout the game.


QUALITY OF LIFE

  • You now always start with the Dash Utility Skill after unlocking the first Utility Skill Slot.
  • You now always start with the Barrier Utility Skill after unlocking the second Utility Skill Slot.


BALANCE

  • Dark Zone 2 should no longer be easier than Dark Zone 1.
  • Dark Boss 1 should now use a skill less and be more manageable.
  • Damage increased for the Old War Skill - Stellar Volley.
  • Damage reduction on Utility Skill - Endure increased from 10% - 30% to 20% - 50%.
  • Velocity bonuses of Fusions reduced by half.
  • Remnant requirements for Titan adjusted down from 3 to 1.
  • Remnant requirements for Callidus adjusted down from 10 to 8.
  • Mini-bosses should now drop more cores.
  • Chests have gotten their loot rebalanced.
  • Base cost of Medium nodes in the Passive Tree increased from 50 to 60 stardust.


OTHER

  • Utility Skills Dash and Barrier no longer drop in the world (see QoL).
  • The Birthing Mother is now called The Progenitor.
  • The Utility Skills headline in the Core Unlock screen has been renamed to Utility Skill Drops, to better inform that these unlock drops in the world.
  • Murk enemy should now display the correct tiers.
  • Tooltip on map when transporting from the Sanctuary and back into the world changed from Sanctuary Point to Cosmic Bridge.
  • Ambience music for Zone 1 and 3 should now be more audible.
  • Increased volume of some Utility Skills so it's easier to hear when their effect end.
  • Clicking Start New Game should now inform you better about what you keep and what you loose.
  • Splitter enemy animations should now be correct.


BUG FIXES

  • Utility Skills should now correctly benefit from cooldown reduction when upgrading their rank.
  • Endure Utility Skill now show correct description values for damage reduction.
  • Boss 2 no longer shoots bullets during the intro scene.
  • Beating Boss 3 no longer lets you immediately replay Boss 3 by clicking Continue.
  • Music for Boss 1 and Boss 2 during phase 2 no longer stops abruptly.
  • Music for Boss 3 should now play correctly from Continue.
  • Music for Hive Node mini-boss in Zone 3 now ends when defeating it.
  • Randomly selectable Passive Tree nodes should no longer appear randomly.
  • You can now rebind the map hotkey and restart the game and have it work as intended.


KNOWN ISSUES

The Last Sunshine: Rekindled is the telling of the last Stars of Legend and their fight against the Void in the heat death of the universe.

A gorgeous looking abstract 2D bullet hell that mixes genres with rogue-lite style gameplay. This makes The Last Sunshine: Rekindled a very approachable experience where you can customize the playstyle to your liking. For those looking for a REAL challenge, Dark Mode is made especially for you!

With multiple stars to unlock and level up, random generated levels, an expansive passive tree to explore and a host of attack and utility skills to find and equip, every run will be a unique experience.

v1.0 Patch notes:

  • Selected utility skills are now retained when switching between tab 1 and tab 2, as well as when re-entering the Utility skills screen.
  • Cosmic Forge, Attack Skill screen & Utility Skill screen now have a bit more coherent visuals.
  • All attack skills should now have simple descriptions.
  • Attack Skill Cooldown properties on Fusions should now behave correctly.
  • Press [?] to enter Passive Tree text in the tutorial should now always trigger.
  • Music for Boss 2 has had it's volume adjusted down a bit.

Pre-release bugfixes

The following bugs where fixed in the past few updates.


  • Unable to click Start (this was due to a Discord API issue).
  • Using the interact button when there was nothing to interact with, took you straight to the Main Menu.
  • Passive Tree in the tutorial displayed the colors wrong on many nodes.
