Chinese (simplified) was not appearing at all in-game. I have fixed the issue and everything is back to normal. Thank you!

Mortuary Assistant Definitive Edition Is Here Now!
The Mortuary Assistant: Definitive Edition Possesses Steam TODAY
The Mortuary Assistant Definitive Edition launches today with more haunt events, new bodies to embalm, embalming only mode, bug fixes, performance improvements, and more. It has been two long years to the day since I first launched The Mortuary Assistant and it has been one of the most unbelievable experiences of my life. I have every single one of you to thank for that.
The Definitive Edition is less about adding gobs of new content (though there is new content) and more about making sure my most loved project is in a state that I can be proud of as I turn my focus on to my next project Paranormal Activity. I have plenty of plans to return to River Fields, don't you worry, but it's time to give this version a proper sendoff on to console with one more update for everyone! I hope you enjoy the Definitive Edition!
-Brian

Hello everyone! It's been a rather long time since I've been able to do an update on things and I'm here with two purposes: give you a bit of an update on what's going on and tell you a bit about a new program we are starting up at DreadXP.
Mortuary Assistant Console Release & Definitive
First! The Mortuary Assistant is seeing a console release happening very soon. I wish I could give solid dates but so much depends on the certification process through console partners before you actually know. All I can say is that all consoles partners have the build and as soon as they approve it, I will give you all a date!
The version launching will be the Definitive Edition and it will be going live here on Steam at the same time. Definitive includes a number of stability improvements, bug fixing, lore, new haunting events, embalming only, and more. Mainly, Definitive is the version of Mortuary Assistant that I am most happy laying to rest so I may move on to new projects.
Owners of the PC version will get Definitive for free as will Switch players who already own the current port of MA on it.
Paranormal Activity
This is my current project and still has a long way to go in development. Since I'm working directly with Paramount, there is a bit of red tape I need to go through before I can start sharing my work the way I have in the past with streams and various social posts. However, I will work to be able to start sharing progress as soon as I'm able.
XP Ultra & FLATHEAD
FLATHEAD is the first title launched under our new XP Ultra program. For those that don't know, I am now the co-director of DreadXP and the Ultra program is something that means a great deal to me. It's designed to give games that may normally be overlooked by publishers a chance to receive support they may not normally get. We wanted to keep the spirit of the DreadX collections alive without the issues they brought on behind the scenes (they were a lot of work and demanding for all involved usually resulting in crunch)
Think of XP Ultra games as a single game from the collections but amplified. Ultra games are small and experimental with compelling gameplay mechanics, weird concepts, and short play times (1-2 hours)
I feel FLATHEAD is a perfect embodiment of what we are looking to do with XP Ultra and I had the pleasure of working directly with the developer Tim Oxton (creator of Silkbulb Test) to work out the kinks on game design and help him bring his idea to finish. As a developer myself, I wish there was a program like this when I was first starting out in the indie space and I really hope it brings something valuable to the indie horror space. Please give Flathead a wish list and grab it on Thursday!
A new terror from the publisher behind The Mortuary Assistant enters the neighborhood...
Something's not quite right at the long abandoned Sunrise TV Studio Lot...
Get ready to confront your deepest fears as the puppets of your fondest memories turn on not just each other but you too! Step into a world of childhood nostalgia turned nightmarish with the highly anticipated release of My Friendly Neighborhood!
The cast of MFN is ready to meet you, but be careful and don't get too close!
A new ending has been added to the game. What new secrets will you uncover at River Fields Mortuary?
Added new haunt events
Added 3 new bodies to ebalm
Haunt aggressiveness slider that changes how frequent the player experiences haunt events has been added
Miscellaneous:
Improved portions of the haunt system to better work with the new slider
Bug Fixes:
Fixed an issue where players could still moisturize with the quick inventory open
Adjusted some lighting issues
A number of fixes to the finale system that were causing various soft lock issues early in a shift.
Fixed a bug in the tutorial sequence where the door note did not display the correct initial interact icon
Fixed a long standing performance issue with the endless hall event
Fixed an issue where it was sometimes difficult to open the basement doors due to interact distance
Adjusted some lighting issues
Note From the Dev:
Thank you everyone for continuing to support and play The Mortuary Assistant! As I’ve stated in other posts, this update will be the last major update for the foreseeable future. That doesn’t mean there won't be any updates but I have been supporting MA exclusively for almost a year now and it is time for me to focus on new projects and content. Keep an eye out for random things like new bodies, haunts, etc. but the updates will slow dramatically from here. Thank you all again so much for being here to enjoy The Mortuary Assistant!
Added remaining language localization: Spanish (LATAM), Italian, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), and Turkish
Improved text displays for localization
Changed intro and ending sequences to respect graphics settings in options. This will hopefully address various player issues with crashing during the intro as well as poor performance during the ending scenes.
Added a timeout for key binding if no button is pressed after 5 seconds. This addresses a soft lock issue.
Bug Fixes:
Fixed controls menu to display localized text
Fixed outstanding bugs with various haunting events
Fixed an issue where you could drop an important item in the game during a demonic hallucination and lose it causing the player to need to restart (ex. Dropping the fully mixed cleaning fluid during an event and leaving it there will cause it to relocate to the mortuary after the event is complete)
Hey everyone! It's been a very exciting and also very busy time for me since the launch of The Mortuary Assistant. There's a movie in the works, a new project with DreadXP based on the Creepshow TV series, localization, console porting, in addition to the many fixes and new content I am making for MA.
The other awesome thing that I am really excited to share with you all is a chance to get a plushie based on the mimic! I've never had the opportunity for something like this and it is really amazing to be able to do. The campaign just went live today so you can head over to the Makeship page and pledge to get one!
Makeship functions in a similar way to crowdfunding sites. There is a goal of pushie purchases that needs to be met. If the goal is reached, the plushie goes into production and everyone who ordered one will receive it when it's complete! There is no limit that can be sold, only a minimum goal that needs to be met. The campaign only goes for a certain amount of time!
I feel extremely fortunate for the response to The Mortuary Assistant and it has awarded things like this that I never thought could happen for my work. I really want to thank all of you who have played the game. Thank you for your feedback, sharing your favorite moments, and more. Keep an eye out for the new ending that I am working on as well as console release coming soon on all consoles!
