Our friendly dev team Unfold Games has just released their award-winning game DARQ with a little extra on top. Apart from the original game, DARQ: Complete Edition contains two DLCs, including The Crypt, which is available to play today for the first time.
If you already own the original DARQ, you can download both DLCs, The Tower and The Crypt, for free.
While we know this news is not directly related to The Padre, we wanted to share it with you since we’re pretty sure that if you are interested in The Padre, you’ll enjoy DARQ too!

DARQ will take you on a journey through a boy's dreams that quickly turn into a loop of nightmares. Lloyd, the main character, is trying to wake up, but unfortunately, each attempt sinks him deeper into his lucid subconscious-driven dreams. Lloyd has to adapt to the new world, re-learn gravity, and strain his mind and all of his senses in order to solve puzzles and sneak past the creatures guarding the shadowy corners of DARQ.

Let us tell you a little bit more about DARQ, in case you are not familiar with it.
A sleeping boy, Lloyd, becomes aware of being experiencing a dream. That dream quickly changes into a nightmare which haunts him over and over again. The end of year is often associated with the giving of gifts but it’s also a time where we reflect on the year that was.
In my case it seems like a whirlwind of demon slaying and exorcising a right buffet of demons from the flocks most vulnerable!
It’s also been a time to reflect on how I help in other ways and what it means to be a world-famous demon hunting priest.
My show Dear Padre is a way that I can reach out to a great many of my flock through the power of network television. Broadcast daily on the Vatican Network, Dear Padre is one of the most loved shows in Vatican City and the Popes personal favorite, or so I am told. I thought I would share an episode with you here:

The Padre is here to save your Soul
It has been a long and stressful road for us. Countless mugs of coffee and unslept nights later we can finally say it out loud – We’ve done it! The Padre is coming out worldwide and multiplatform! We’ve dreamt about this day for months and we cannot wait how it will be received by media, but most importantly by the wonderful community of video game enthusiasts out there.
The project grew from our love of retro games, genres that for most have been long forgotten – Point and Click Adventure games and the beginnings of the Horror Adventure genre. This is why we used voxel graphics (or if you prefer a less technical term 3D Pixel Art), filled the game with easter eggs and made the protagonist a witty smart-ass taking us back to the golden age of action films. Of course, we left out some gameplay anachronisms that would make the game less-enjoyable but we preserved the aesthetic and feel as much as it was humanly possible.
The IDDQD code is no longer necessary, we’re leaving god mode off and the rest is up to you. We hope you will enjoy playing The Padre as much as we adored creating it.

The highly anticipated moment has finally come – The Padre will be releasing April 18th!
Before we go into any details, we wanted to thank each and everyone who has supported the Padre in its Early Access period. You guys are the reason why we decided to develop games!
Now let’s move to some details:
What has changed since the last Early Access update? - New story elements and new scenes
- Extended end game
- New cut scenes
- Melee and ranged combat reformed. It is much more convenient and straightforward now.
- New inventory and UI
- New music, voices, and voiceover elements
- Controller support redesigned
- Improved AI
Important note: The changes were so extensive that the previous saved games will not be working in the new version. We could not keep the consistency with the previous version.
Please start the story from the beginning to see every little addition. Thanks for your patience!
With the final release we will be upping the price to 19,99 USD/EUR. Those of you who have the Early Access version bought fret not! You don’t need to pay a dime for this update. We strongly recommend though you run the game again and see how the story of our demon slaying Padre has been improved.
