More lobby options, vote history window and rebalancing changes! (1.4.2)
UPDATE 1.4.2
FEATURES:
Vote History tab
It is now possible to view the vote of each player on a specific Commissariat Proposal.
Tyrant Special Permit Self Assignment option
By default, the Tyrant used to be allowed to assign Special Permit to themselves. Some players have expressed frustration with this, therefore it is now possible to customize your match accordingly.
7+ player two-sabotage requirement option
Same goes for the two-sabotage requirement on the 4th task when playing with 7+ players. The 4th task required two sabotages by two different dissident members to be sabotaged successfully. This is now customizable.
REBALANCING:
Rebalancing Instability
Instability is an important aspect of the game: it prevents players from indefinetely rejecting Commissariat Proposals, which would give Loyalists too much of a safe haven to fall back onto whenever they'd be undecided on the identity of other players. By default the instability bar has 5 levels, triggering an instant Dissident win whenever this reached the maximum level.
This, however, created a fatal flaw: on five players, whenever the player coming right after the Tyrant's turn held the Commissar Role, Loyalists could just reject Commissariat Proposals enough times for the Commissar Role to go back to the Tyrant. On five players, the maximum number of people that can be involved in a Decree is two. Therefore, this could be exploited to ensure the Loyalists always had a Decree involving the Tyrant (who is sure to be on the Loyalist side) enacting the decree: if it got sabotaged, it meant the other player involved was surely a Dissident.
The issue has been solved now, with the maximum instability level set to 4 for five players.
BUGFIXES:
Network stability issues.
Patch notes for v1.4.1
Patch notes for v1.4.1
BUGFIXES: Fixed a bug that would cause the creation of a "ghost Commissariat" in the background which would enact decrees. This was caused by a duplicated timer end event on the timeout of the Discussion Phase.
This bug would cause many issues as a consequence. Therefore consider the following fixed:
Match would suddenly end before-hand giving a (sometimes unjust) victory to Loyalists;
The remaining Decrees counter would show negative numbers (since more Decrees were being enacted in the background);
The Commissariat Proposal dossier would sometimes ask for a negative number of people to be chosen (caused by a mismatch of number of enacted Decrees and required members in the current turn);
The member board on the right side of the screen would sometimes tag more than one player as the Commissar (caused by ghost Commissariats in the background).
Viva la Purgación!
Viva La Purgación!
After MONTHS of no updates, we're back with something big. We've pretty much added all of the features we intended to add from the release. Today we're proud to announce the Viva La Purgación! update, which adds new character models to unlock, a shop, an inventory for customization, a new scenario, two new soundtracks, a couple of Quality of Life improvements and solves some known bugs.
Let's start with the new features.
New Scenario (+new Soundtracks)
Avena Club, a tropically inspired club.
It is possible to choose the preferred Scenario in the Lobby Creation menu:
Shop and Inventory (+new Character Models)
You can now earn Loyalty Points by completing matches (not necessarily winning them). They can be spent in the Shop section of the game, where you can find loads of new Character Models that can be assigned to their respective character.
In addition, some tropically inspired characters from Viva La Purgación! Pack have been added, along with new emotes.
They can be equipped and unequipped in the Inventory Section of the game, where you will have the full list of Characters and Emotes that you possess.
They're Steam items! That means you can check them out in your Steam Inventory as well.
Loyalty Points are also Steam Items.
Passworded Lobbies
You can now add a password to your lobbies. These will still appear in the list of available lobbies if the Hidden option is not selected, however they will now require a password.
Tweaks and Bugfixes
Of course we've also solved some annoying bugs:
Colour of the Table is now relative to the selected scenario.
Written Text will no longer go out of bounds.
Fixed a bug that would not let the screen resolution be set to 1440p.
GOAT CRASH: fixed a bug that would crash the game if the player wrote their text overly out of bounds in the Journal.
Fixed a bug that would sometimes not show the Journals of other players at the end of the game.
Network and stability issues improvement.
Known Bugs
Ralph and I are constantly monitoring our Community Discord. We are currently investigating most of the bug reports that have been sent by you in the #report-a-bug channel. The following is a list of known bugs:
Nameplate, Journal and Party Membership card spawning away from the table. This seems to happen when the player focuses out of the game (minimizes the game in the toolbar) whilst the match is in the loading screen (the Waiting for Players screen) at the start of a game.
The Tyrant sometimes spawns either as a Dissident or a Loyalist, forcing the players to recreate the match.
The game status in the top left corner of the screen sometimes reports a negative number of decrees remaining.
The "Form a Commissariat" dossier sometimes asks for a negative number of players to be selected.
A big thank you to everyone who plays The Purge Dilemma!

Achievements and Stats
Achievement and Stats!
Well, after a few weeks of no updates, we're back with something. First of all, a big thank you to the Community that continues to help the game grow and develop, both by joining our Community Discord to interact with other players and those of you who continue reporting bugs so that we are able to improve every aspect of the game and therefore your experience.
We got them working, finally. Both achievements and player statistics have been added to the game! Check this out.
Steam Achievements.
Finally you can reach goals by completing these achievements!
Player Stats
A Player Statistics section that shows how much you have done so far, from how many Dissidents you purged, to how many times you died.
Tweaks
Some aspects of the game have also been tweaked:
Added minimum time to each countdown adjustment in the Lobby settings.
Resolved some network stability issues.
Bugfixes
And of course, with the Major Update, comes some pretty significant bugfixing. We managed to get rid of some of the most known and reported bugs. The list is below:
"Doppelganger" bug is now fixed. No longer will two players have the same character.
"Democracy" bug is now fixed. No longer will the Tyrant sit among the other players.
Fixed a bug where the match would become heavily unstable if one of the countdown was set to 0 (or other low values) in the Lobby settings.
Emotes
EMOTES
Three new emotes available to all, usable in game!
As you can see, two new more options are available in the Main Menu...
...ignore Stats for now. They are still experimental and are only temporary (more info below).
From the Customization option you can access the Emotes from the drop down menu...
...and equip Emotes. Currently only three are available, which means they are all already equipped.
More will be added... and yes, souvenirs and new character skins are planned as you can see!
Press R to open the Emote menu, and just click the Emote you wish to perform.
Bugfixes:
Fixed a bug where the Journal would not show the correct amount of Dissidents.
Fixed a bug where any cooldown timer modification in the Lobby Options would not match the one in-game.
Fixed a bug that caused the game to not proceed and be stuck even if all players had interacted with the Dossier.
Fixed several bugs related to players leaving in the middle of the match during crucial phases.
Solved some network stability issues.
Known Bugs:
Doppelgangers. There are times in which multiple players have the same character. The game is still able to proceed, however it might cause confusion. We're currently looking to fix this. To avoid it, the Host should avoid switching focus to other applications (alt-tabbing) during the game initiation phase.
Journal, Dossier and Party Card out of place. Tends to happen when the focus is shifted to other applications (alt-tabbing). We're currently looking to fix this. To avoid it, refrain from tabbing out of the game during the initiation phase.
NOTE: All fixes announced in the previous v1.1.1 update are now in effect. There shouldn't be a black screen issue anymore. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the update. Let us know on our community discord if you encounter any other bugs.
UPCOMING FEATURES
Achievements;
Player Stats;
We've managed to work out the implementation for achievements and player stats. They're currently in an experimental phase: not all achievements keep track of progress and not all stats work. Keep in mind that they will be wiped in a few days when we finish polishing them!
Any progress that you achieve so far is only temporary and is only meant for testing and troubleshooting purposes!
Here are some screenshots.
Patch notes for v1.1.1
Update v1.1.1
Tweaks
Added 1440p resolution (2k).
Network stability improvements.
Bugfixes
Fixed a bug in which, when the timer for a Commissariat proposal would run out, the Voting Phase would have the Commissar also appear as a Member and the sole participant in the Commissariat.
Fixed a bug where multiple players would have the same character.
Fixed a bug that allowed people to enter whilst the game was starting (they would appear as None in-game and have a shadow figure as their character).
Known bugs
Match broken when host minimizes the game during lobby-to-game transition (servertravel phase).
To avoid this happening, all you have to do is avoid minimising the game whilst it is in the initiation phase (which would be the Waiting for Players screen).
A big thank you to The Purge Dilemma's community and those of you who play the game!
Many of you and also many outside of the community have expressed interest in the game's music. Well, today with great excitement we announce the Official release for all the OSTs in The Purge Dilemma.
You may also buy it as means to support us, the deemaso dev team and our composer Pasquale Di Maso who have worked on this game with great care and love.
Enjoy!
