The Remainder: The Complete Edition

Update #6

Just one fix in this update:

  • Fixed a bug where the "A Real Rebel" achievement wasn't triggering correctly.
Keep on reporting and thanks to everyone who already left a review! <3

Update #5

Welcome to the second update for this week. This one includes:

  • Last patch fixed some things, but it also broke the plot progression for some players, this update should hopefully fix the issue.
  • We also added two more achievements for the two variants of the true ending. You need to see them again to activate the achievements.
  • Fixed more overlapping sprites.
  • Added a new lines for the sage when you ask them for a hint after seeing the true ending.
  • Added another death.

Keep on reporting and thanks to everyone who already left a review! <3

Update #4

Welcome to a new week with more updates! Here's is what the newest update includes:

  • Added a hint feature. It becomes available in the gallery after you have more than 6 unique deaths. Also, on repeated death dialogue you can now ask the sage for help if you have enough deaths under your belt. (These hints should be relevant to what you already saw or didn’t see. Let us know if you find some inconsistencies )
  • The save game disappearing bug should be gone now.
  • After you reach a milestone in the plot progress the game will give you a message that now is a good time to start from the beginning again. (In case players are loading the game after death instead of clicking start)
  • Added a precaution to prevent accidental skipping of unseen text
  • Increased number of deaths required for sublimation from 10 to 12
  • Added sprites to the part where Vyn is confronting Ilar about the missing letter
  • Fixed a few typos
  • Fixed typo in the code which crashed the game sometimes when you talk with Ilar on the stairs
  • Fixed overlapping sprites
  • Fixed a scene unlocking in the gallery at the very start of the game
  • Tweaked some variables not triggering correctly
  • Fixed issue with Sanguine Sage dialogue not triggering correctly
  • Last sage talk and journal related achievements should now trigger properly

Keep on reporting and thanks to everyone who already left a review! We reached to super important milestone of 10 reviews just before the weekend! <3

Update #3

Before we head into the weekend we have one more fix for you that takes care of the following issues:

  • Quick menu appearing where it shouldn't
  • A typo involving player's name
  • Reset Progress button now correctly resets all progress
For players who had some left over progress like which texts were already read, which gallery items were unlocked, etc, from previous versions of the game, this will now clear it.
(It will not touch save games however)

Keep on reporting and please leave a review if you like the game, it's super important to reach 10 reviews asap and we're only 2 shy at the moment! :)

Update #2

Thanks again for reporting some bugs in the Steam forum!

With this update we fixed several achievement triggers that were set incorrectly, and a gallery image that wasn't displaying properly."

Chronicles of Tal'Dun: The Remainder Now Available!

Weary travelers, I hope this message finds you in good health and spirit.

After many months of creative work, we've finally created something that we think captures the spirit of our vision, a dark fantasy tale of mystery, self-discovery, love, and forgiveness.

The game was inspired by our love for interactive narratives, tasteful visuals, haunting sounds, and just a genuinely good story that takes you on a journey. We wanted to make something original, intriguing, and takes a bit of puzzling out. A mystery that draws you in and won't let go.

In the course of the last few months we taught ourselves how to write, program, make music and manage a project. It had been a fun and exciting journey.

We had not anticipated ever writing something of this scale, it's about the size of a paper-back novel! And we trimmed it quite a lot, believe me, we really tried to 'kill our babies' as they say, which means going over the text again and again, weeding out what is not necessary, what goes against the central mood and theme, and what just doesn't ring well.

This was our first game, we had no idea how it was going to end up, but we never doubted that we'd make it happen.

We hope you'll play it, enjoy it, support it, and be part of our journey.

There is so much more to the world of The Remainder that we want to tell, starting with the tale of Ilar and the high magus who lost their memory, or in other words, you.

This was our first game, we had no idea how it was going to end up, but we never doubted that we'd make it happen.
