The Ring of Truth

Patch Notes 1.2

  • Sprint ability added.
  • Lighting overhauled.
  • Optimization remarkably improved.
  • Text of the game is improved.
  • Certain texts' font size increased.
  • Vsync is fixed.

Details:

The Ring of Truth is a valuable game to us, like all of our other games. After almost a year, we looked back to it and decided to make it a better game. By 'better' we mean better looking, better feeling and better working. With our own notes and feedback from the players, we worked on the game and updated it.

In The Ring of Truth v1.2, you will notice a huge difference with the lighting. This new, overhauled lighting also brought huge optimization with it. The game now should work at a stable frame rate. Alongside the lighting and optimization, the new version also added sprint ability. Without a stamina bar, from now on players won't feel the frustration of having to walk everywhere. Also, thanks to your feedback, now certain texts have a bigger font size. Lastly, v1.2 has many improvements on the game text.

Patch Notes 1.1

  • Fixed the problem of getting stuck in unwanted places.
  • Recordings menu now show some keywords for every recording. This will help players figure out the event chronology easier.
  • Edited one of the recordings to make it feel more obvious about its place in chronological order.
  • Now playable character reacts to certain recordings after listening to them.
  • Visual changes/correction about level design.
  • Slightly improved optimization.

Details:

- With this update, now the game doesn't have places for you to get stuck without the ability to jump.
- Due to strong feedback, we felt the need for making the ordering part of the game less frustrating. For this, now all of the recordings show their keywords for easier ordering. With this, players now don't have to read all of the text to see what they might have missed.
- We found one of the recordings makes people a have hard time figuring out its place in chronological order. So, we edited it slightly to make it more obvious.
- Lack of reaction from the playable character was making the game less immersive to players. Now, our character reacts to certain recordings after he listens to them.
- We found level design had some minor displacements, especially with vines. Now they are mostly (you never fully know) fixed.
- In terms of optimization, we think aside from certain areas and angles its fairly decent. Although, we made slight changes to reduce load on GPU.
