It’s heeeere! The massive dungeon and raid rebalance is now live! This is one of the biggest updates for Secret World Legends EVER, and we sincerely appreciate all the feedback and help everyone provided during testing!
If this is all new to you, hey, no worries - just keep on reading. We’ll do our best to summarize the key points for the update, although you’ll still want to wade through the colossal patch notes for full details on what to expect. There’s nearly 9,000 words of changes, so...well, you might be reading for a little while.

POLYMORPHIC GLYPH EXCHANGERS
All characters are receiving 9 Polymorphic Glyph Exchangers via Delivered Items. These will let you update your glyphs to suit your desired role. That's right, glyphs having meaning for tanks now
PATRON LOOT KEY CHANGES
The Loot Key system has been reworked! Dungeons, Scenarios, and Lairs no longer require keys to obtain loot. When completing a Dungeon, Scenario, or after killing a Lair boss, a Patron's Chest will appear near the standard loot chest. One of each type of Patron's Chest can be opened per day by Patrons. The Patron Chests award 1 guaranteed special distillate (Energized or Purified), Anima Shards, and varying useful items (like Distillate Shifters or Catalysts), exclusive cosmetics, or even 3 new agents.
Cache Keys still remain in the game and Patrons continue to receive 1 Cache Key per day.
DUNGEONS, RAIDS, SCENARIOS
We are capping the Occult Defence leaderboard for highest wave due to the myriad of systemic changes that directly influence Occult Defence. We look forward to seeing the new highest wave that the players can reach.
You may now queue up to Dungeon Elite difficulty 17! We’ve merged queues across several ranges, so there aren’t 17 separate queues. The ranges are as follows:
Elite 1 - 2
Elite 3 - 4
Elite 5 - 7
Elite 8 - 10
Elite 11 - 13
Elite 14 - 16
Elite 17
“Nightmare” mechanics now begin at Elite 8. Additional mechanics now begin at Elite 14! Surprise! New Achievements have been added at Elite 17. The Penthouse encounter from TSW has returned and updated for SWL! This encounter is accessible from Elite 11 and higher. Solo and Duo Seek and Preserve Scenarios are available up to Elite 17. Manhattan Exclusion Zone has an Elite 17-only version with its own unique mechanics and loot!
ITEMS, ITEM XP, CRAFTING
We’ve added several new crafting items and adjusted distillate values across the board. Recovering glyphs and signets costs 4,000 MoF for a red item. The price scales down for lower quality items. This change is already Live, but included here for completeness. Many signets, talismans, and weapon affixes have received balance adjustments. We’ve also added a couple new signets and an entire new set of talismans!
WEAPONS AND ROLES
Healing and Tanking have received major changes and was one of the primary focuses of this update.
Healers have been shifted to a more tactical playstyle to make their abilities and Elites feel more impactful while achieving new balance. This also includes adjusting how Healing Anima Allocation works - you’ll want to allocate 51% or more of your Anima to Healing to take advantage of the new mechanics.
Tanking has received an overhaul and many tank-related abilities and passives have been redesigned or outright replaced to give each tank weapon a unique flavor and focus. All bonus hate generation from Abilities, Passives, and Items have been REMOVED - instead, Survivability Anima Allocation provides bonus threat.
Additionally, all nine weapons have received significant changes. Some weapons may even be completely different from what you’re used to!
MISCELLANEOUS
We’ve also made some adjustments to your Ultimate Ability, Healing Potions, and solo survival passives.

They offer new rewards this year, ranging from daily login items (including a new free Agent) to a tantalizing outfit: The Attire of Avalon! This event-exclusive outfit is a free reward if you complete 100 waves of Occult Defence.
Even if you don’t quite hit 100 waves, don’t worry! The outfit becomes available for purchase from the Quartermaster for a limited time after the Equinox event ends. The price of the outfit scales based on how many waves you completed! The closer you were to 100 waves, the less the outfit costs.
Additionally, Druid of Avalon agent boosters are 50% off during this event!

UI
Added “Show defeated champions” option. This will display a greyed out skull with no name text (to be less obtrusive) for champions you have already defeated. It is located at Interface Options > HUD Display.
DARK AGARTHA
Damaged Gatekeeper’s Static Cling and its associated achievement now properly interact with Signet of Contortion. When dodging with this signet equipped, it is considered to be a successful dodge for the achievement criteria and simultaneously removes the Static Cling snare/debuff without inflicting damage.
Fixed an issue with Wistful Flame that prevented it from behaving as intended, and prevented it from being selected when rolling modules.
These abilities can no longer be cast by bosses while the Toxic Spores event is ongoing:

If this is your first foray into the Envoys of Avalon event, great! On each equinox, the druids of Avalon send their envoys to forge alliances with other Secret Worlders. For a limited time, you’ll be able to find Druids of Avalon in Agartha as they help usher you to the training simulation. You’ll discover event-exclusive legends and get a chance at special loot, including agent dossiers.
Seek them out in the center of Agartha!
First time in Stonehenge Occult Defence? Also great! Your mission: Defend the Hagstone, the ancient artifact laying at the heart of Stonehenge. This artifact draws power from the the world’s ley lines and works to conceal and protect Stonehenge and the Druids’ home from danger. Should the Hagstone’s integrity be compromised, it’s fission mailed – so keep it together!
What threats will you face in the simulation? Just endless, unpredictable waves of monsters trying to destroy the objective, that’s all. :wink: You will need to keep enemies away from the central objective – an enemy simply being near the occult focus is enough to damage it. If you survive a wave, you have an opportunity to halt the simulation and collect your compensation, or you can carry on and raise the danger level.
Stonehenge is available for solo play or in groups up to 5! You may queue for Stonehenge using the Activity Finder (Shift + V).

Dark Agartha Updates A new boss makes it debut in Dark Agartha as of this update, as well as new potential ability/effect configurations for all existing bosses. Additionally, 25 new achievements have been added to Dark Agartha! Variety is the spice of life!
GENERAL
Fixed a problem with AI target selection that caused some abilities to not be used in 1v1 combat, or against the tank when playing as a group.
Crystallised Flame has had some improvements to reduce crashes.
MISSIONS
Short Circuit - The exploding cyborg can no longer critically injure you when it explodes. Proceed to continue triggering the same explosive day after day.
The Rosenbrawl - Fixed several media popups not properly translating into French and German
COMBAT
Effigy X77 Scorpion’s Eject Poison attack is now properly centered on the scorpion. This fixes it hitting targets across the zone
FATE, The Gatekeeper, and Custodian summoned by Ring of the Hollow Tree, Anima-Infused Keepsake, and Ashes of Fate’s Chosen will no longer block movement
DARK AGARTHA
Challenge Timeline: Weakened Anima now properly debuffs Assault Rifle, Shotgun and Pistol damage. It no longer incorrectly doubly debuffs Chaos, Elemental and Blood Magic damage.
The Gatekeeper: Anima Transfusion - Increased the effect that Elite level has on this module. It now heals for less at lower Elites, and more at higher Elites.
The Gatekeeper: Anima Transfusion - Healing is now further increased if Anima Drain is allowed to be fully channeled.
DRESSING ROOM
Female characters will be able to purchase white Angelic Costume Wings during Halloween events.
Valentine's 2020: Feb 12 - Feb 19
A Bouquet of Rosenbrawl
Starting February 12 through February 19, you’re invited to a special Rosenbrawl event! All players level 15 or higher automatically get an invite to the free-for-all this week. If you’ve never been, you’re in for a treat - this pocket dimension is accessible through the Tabula Rasa in London.
Once there, you can choose between three types of boxing gloves (fast and loose, well-balanced, and heavy slugger) and enter a PvP free-for-all arena.
The newest attraction during the Open Week is a vintage Soulmate arcade machine you may use to find your true love...and then fight them to the death!
Find a new investigation mission beside the arcade cabinet; embark on a task to uncover why the matchmaking machine would be in a pocket dimension in the first place. 🤔
Complete the mission and its boss encounter for extra loot and a unique consumable reward: a Romantic Cake! When used, the cake spawns a feast for you and up to 9 other players to interact with and receive a temporary buff that increases your Crit Chance, Crit Damage, and Health. The cake is a one-time-use consumable, although you can stack multiple cakes in your inventory.
New Emotes
Two new emotes are now available for purchase from the Emotions Window: Heart, and Cute Cheesin’. Get ‘em while they last - they’re only available during Rosenbrawl Open Week! Good thing we also added the ability to preview emotes before you purchase them in this update ;)
