The Secrets of the Forest

The darkness is coming

The new TSoTF Beta is coming this August with a full remake of everything you saw 'til now!

New map(s), new enemy(ies), new challenges and more.
As I don't want to rush the Beta as I did in the Alphas, I need more time to finish some stuff, that's why August, it can come before but August is where I plan to finish everything and launch.

Do you know the game is 80% off during this sale? so now you know :)

Don't forget to follow the Tudo Rip's Twitter for more teasers: https://twitter.com/Tudo_Rip :)

See you soon,
~~Emy

Price drop + 80% off

Hello y'all, the game is now $4,99 and it's actually 80% off!
About updates, not much progress because I just got a new PC and I will start working next week, gonna make the script/art stuff and after this, make the maps and the history.
I want to continue developing it, but school and external works, delays the game a lot, but as all know, It's better a delayed game than a rushed one :)
Well, not much else this time to say, for now, that's all, ty everyone.

Cheers,
Emy!

The future

Hello all, I'm getting some hardware upgrade to develop the game.

Creating occlusion culling, or even building the game, takes too much time in my current setup (i3 7100/HD 630/8GB), 'cause of that, I will be needed to get a better one.

I also have some things to say, a lot of people agreed on doing that (People on our Discord server, and in Twitch streams from some of our partners), as the actual game, can be pretty CPU/GPU demanding, I discussed with the community, and also with our team, and I'm going to do one thing, will be really important in the future:
Recreate...

Yes, it means recreate the whole game, will be something hard to do, but really needed, as a lot of players, and also streamers/partners told us: The game is looking too demanding to play/stream, I found the problem, and it's 2: one is the engine, I was using Unity 2017.3 to develop the game, now I will be updating to Unity 2018, doing this, will make the game better (Performance/visual), there is lots of bugs in all alphas, including glitches that make you pass through walls, fences and stuff in general, also will be needed to recreate the whole collision of the game, so I thought that will be better, recreate the game maps, using a lighter terrain, but at same time, better than the actual one, that in some parts, like stage 1, it's really laggy 'cause of the terrain details, also the LOD is something to fix, the LOD is really problematic in some stages, stage 1 is where it looks worse, because it's a big open area, with lots of stuff, but at the same time, as reported by a lot of players, it looks pretty empty.

So getting a better PC, in this case, I will be getting a laptop (i7 8750H/1050Ti/8GB), will improve a lot the time that takes to do almost everything, even open the project takes a lot of time.
About VR, 'cause of the old terrain, and the VR dev kit being made to Unity 2018, there is a lot of issues, that's another thing to fix.

In general, to fix pretty much ALL bugs, restart the development, will be the best option, isn't me who wanted to do it, was the community, with +20 upvotes and just 1 downvote, I'm doing it, people asked for it, so I will do.

So, what does it means? in general, the Beta will take more time to come out but will be a refreshed TSoTF, with more stuff to do, a better scenario, with less, way fewer problems than the actual Alpha 5, and I can say, will look a better game, Alpha 5 actually is a big incomplete game, with some finished stuff, but most, unfinished.

If you want to buy the game and don't want an incomplete experience, I recommend you to add to your wishlist, follow the game, and wait 'til Beta, else, you will try an incomplete game.

This extra time will be worth it, just wait for it.

I really don't want to deliver a Beta without much new stuff, so this will be a good thing to do.

About an ETA, I can't say anything, because I'm alone on this, and it's a pretty ambitious project, but, it's not close to being impossible, it's pretty hard, but not impossible, just takes a lot of time.

Hope you understand, if you have any kind of question, don't forget to comment, I'll be answering all of they, really sorry for needing to delay the Beta, but it's for a good cause.

Sorry again,
Peace!
- Emy

75% off and big work here!

Hello everyone, the game is now 75% off!

Also I'm working in the game, and one big problem that the game had is the VR part, now it's fully functional.
I did tested in Windows Mixed Reality, and it's working pretty well, about Oculus Rift & HTC Vive, I presume they also are, but need to test it, as I don't have none of these, after the release, report any problem at discussions page of the game.

VR vision:

Non-VR vision (Desktop):
Work in progress, screenshots in-engine, does not represent the beta release build

You can teleport around using the VR's controllers, like the Oculus Touch and the WMR Motion Controllers, but if you prefer, you can still use a keyboard, or a joystick.

Gonna post more stuff soon, I don't want to spoil the new beta too much, then, see you soon.

Cya!

67% off and beta progress

Hello everyone, The game is 67% off during this sale!

Also, the beta version will be coming in Q1 2019, here is a screenshot from stage 1 showing how the beta will look like:

This screenshot is still a work in progress captured from the game engine but that's pretty much it,
I'm working hard in remaking the game features, improving the map and graphics and when the beta comes out you will see a very better looking game comparing to actual alpha 5!
Also, the optimization is way better in beta, in my tests I got extras 30~~50 fps, and the CPU usage dropped in about 20~~30%, so you will see a more fluid game in beta when compared to alpha 5 and older versions.
I'll be posting more footages from beta as I get progress on it in the following month!

Well, that's all everyone, have a nice Christmas and a happy new year!
Peace.
