The Tenants - Early Access is OUT NOW!
Hey Landlords!
Today's announcement is not going to be long - we all know that you're tired of us talking about our gratitude, but here's the deal: we just wouldn't be able to do that without you all and we're well aware of that. Anyway - without further ado - THE TENANTS IS OUT!
Our excitement has been building up to this moment and trust us - THE HYPE IS REAL! We're counting on your feedback, so feel free to flood us with your thoughts and opinions about the game - it's still just the beginning of our journey and we won't rest on our laurels - our minds are full of new ideas. Just wait until you see what updates we've prepared for you!
Meanwhile, check out this video, where Max, Co-Founder of Ancient Forge Studio, talks about changes and tweaks implemented since the free trial version.
How’s everyone doing this fine week? We hope everyone’s feeling great and refreshed to finally try out the full The Tenants experience for themselves. That’s right, in case you’ve somehow missed the big announcement, the game will be released in Early Access tomorrow, March 25th, at 7pm CET. In fact, we’ve just managed to successfully wrap up the final build and the game is now ready to go live as planned. In the meantime, we went ahead and updated our trailers and screenshots on the store page to be more representative of what’s coming.
And there’s more! Piotr Surmacz, the great composer who produced the game’s soundtrack, has just released the game's full OST on YouTube and Bandcamp! If you want to get in the groove and make ready for your upcoming landlording career, we highly recommend you give it a good ol’ listen. We’ll continue working with Piotr after launch to bring you even more catchy tunes to hum along in-game.

The launch is certainly poised to be a busy period for all of us, but we’ll do our best to be available to answer all of your questions and feedback here on the Steam forums as well as on our Discord server (click here to get in). We’ve got an amazing group of friendly folks there, so feel free to join us if you ever want to catch us live. There are also many veteran community members who will be able to guide you through your first time in Wondersville.
It’s now officially less than 24 hours until launch. While this moment does feel a bit surreal to everyone involved with the project, we wanted to take the opportunity and properly thank you and all the fans who helped us reach this milestone. Hope to see you all tomorrow!
Sincerely, The Tenants Team
Early Access of The Tenants is COMING!
Hello there, Landlords!
Boy, oh boy, the last week has been nothing but amazing! The free trial release has proved to be a massive success as over 125 thousand players have played through the game - the vast majority of them thoroughly enjoying their experience. There were of course some hiccups and bugs, but we’ve already managed to fix a fair share of them and the entire team is hard at work squashing the remaining ones. Given the overall reception and the state of the game, we’ve come to the conclusion that what we have in store seems to be working exceptionally well, and thus we’ve decided to finally answer the question that’s been on everyone’s mind...
The Tenants will launch in Early Access on Thursday, March 25th, 2021 at 7pm CET! Available on Steam, GOG and Epic Store as a digital download for $19.99 / €16.79 / £15.49 or your regional equivalent.
The public release marks but a step in our overall commitment to the game. Fans that have been with us from the very beginning know that we have many features and content planned for future updates. The Early Access will allow us to grow our development team and pour even more resources into expanding Wondersville even faster.
What can you expect from the Early Access release?
While the Free Trial version gives you a solid taste of what to expect from The Tenants, it doesn’t cover the full breadth of gameplay we have prepared for the EA release. Featuring hundreds of items, dozens of properties, unique jobs, elite contracts, tenant events and interactions, split-room renting, banks and loans, a brand new UI, hirable agents that automate many of the more rote landlord tasks, a whole other district with freestanding houses, gardens, workshops, the upcoming release should keep you busy for many hours to come.
What’s next?
During the Early Access we have a number of key features and content we want to work on alongside our community, including the third playable district (Manhattan), additional tenant archetypes and more end-game content. As we’ve been doing thus far, we plan to continue reading through all your feedback, responding to your questions and requests, and asking for your thoughts on important design decisions.
We will post a more detailed Early Access development roadmap on the release day, so keep an eye out for it. If you somehow still haven’t tried it yet, make sure to play the free trial and we’ll see you all on launch!
Thank you, The Tenants Team
Free Trial Is Out NOW!
Hey Landlords!
We're excited to announce that The Tenants - Free Trial is now available for download!
It's a huge milestone for all of us - as we're approaching the release of The Tenants, it's extremely important for us to gather your thoughts and feedback. Featuring over an hour of gameplay, this is the chunkiest build we've released publicly thus far, and as such it's a great opportunity for everyone to check out what the game has to offer before opting into the upcoming Early Access. Our priority is to make the launch as smooth as possible and it's impossible to do it without your help - we are, after all, making this game for you.

The Tenants - Free Trial Getting a Short Delay
Hey Landlords!
As you already know, we announced that we would be releasing the Free Trial version of The Tenants today - unfortunately, we won't be able to do that. Due to some unforeseen publishing issues, we're forced to postpone the launch. The date is now set to Tuesday - March 9, 2021. We're sorry for the inconvenience, but worry not - it's not going to interfere with our plans to release the whole game ASAP.
Also, you're more than welcome to visit our Facebook page, where we'll be hosting a live AMA session tomorrow (March 5, 2021) - Reczberg and Roumyan will do their best to answer all of the questions you might have.
All the best, The Tenants Team
The Tenants Development Update #15 (Important Announcement)
Hello there, Landlords!
What a month this has been! Last week we released a free demo of The Tenants (check it out on our store page if you haven’t already!). The feedback we received thus far has been incredible and we’re really happy to see you all enjoy the game. Continue reading this week’s update and you might just get a bit more!
Getting back to the development side of things, we finally had some time to go back to our first district to see what we can improve and polish. Our goal is for the player to be able to orient themselves without aid when moving throughout the city, so we’ve been deep in the weeds building new unique locations and landmarks for Slums. We’re also revamping a few key areas to make them look more distinctive and appealing.
During this final stretch of the development, we’re also trying to optimize the environment as much as possible in order to get the game running smoothly on all PCs. Keep in mind that this is an area that we’ll definitely continue to work on post launch.
Another big piece of news is that recently we’ve teamed up with a talented 2D artist and we’ve been hard at work rebuilding the UI for launch. Our aim is to make sure it fits as a natural extension of the gameplay and to improve the general user experience. We’ve spent quite a lot of time experimenting with various approaches and themes, and now we’ve finally worked out a cohesive layout & color scheme that we’re pleased with. We want to have the new interface ready for our Early Access release.
Something new that will come with the EA launch are the so-called Elite Contracts. These unique jobs will take you around the more grandiose properties of Wondersville like the Treehouse or the Hotelship. Elite Contracts will feature an array of unique items that you won’t be able to find anywhere else, unless you play it dirty and decide to snatch a few of them for yourself.
It’s been a lengthy update already, but we’ve got one more announcement to make. A lot of you have mentioned that the demo is rather short and we’d love to show you a bit more of the game before launch. We strongly believe in consumer choice and we want to be as transparent as possible with you guys so that you make an informed decision regarding our game. Therefore, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be releasing a standalone trial version that will take you even further than the demo.
The Tenants - Free Trial, featuring the first hour of gameplay, is slated for release on March 4th. Make sure you add it to your wishlist, so you don’t miss the big day!
Let us know what you think of the development progress in the comments down below. Stay tuned and follow the game for more updates!

We've been hosting closed beta giveaways, but we're well aware that not everyone was able to put their hands on a key.
