The Twilight of Infinity

A cassette to 1937, and a more familiar time, has appeared..

The disappearance of Amelia Earhart is one of the great mysteries. There are many conspiracy theories about the fate of the 'Flying Laboratory', the most prevailing of which are explored in the episode. I have tried to tread as carefully as possible – this was a real life event that affected real people (which is why I don't plan on making episodes about such things as '9/11').
With that said, this is intended purely as entertainment and not an investigation into Amelia and Fred's disappearance.

This episode is by far the largest in the series – the scale of it the reason behind the delayed release.
In addition to the core game are three mini-games, hub areas, a longer story and the introduction of 3D environments. These are only small improvements in the grand scheme of things, but small improvements in each episode will hopefully build towards a better and better series.

I hope you enjoy the episode and exploring the real-world theories as to what unfolded in the skies of 1937! And always remember... Time isn't what you think it is.

Une nouvelle cassette est apparue..

"To be or not to be.. I know that guy!"

Alex knows as much about Rene Descartes as he does about effective plague cures. But all Alex has to do is find Pierre Descartes, grandfather of the famous philosopher, mathematician, and not playwright, Rene, and Emit can handle the rest.
But how did the plague find Pierre? Why does history record Pierre as having succumbed to the Black Death and Rene never being born?
And how can Alex possibly hope to communicate with people of a different time and nation?

I haven't seen E.T. since I was a kid, but that and Gremlins were a big part of inspiration behind this episode. I can't explain why without giving away spoilers, but hopefully it will make sense as you play. Possibly.

Now that I'm older and becoming more creatively bankrupt with every passing year, I stole the idea to use rebus puzzles to represent people trying to communicate in different languages from a previous idea for a game about two lovers on the run.
The idea never left the prototype stage so it was nice for me to see it resurface in The Twilight of Infinity.

It's a new type of puzzle for the series and I realise that not everyone will enjoy or be naturally good at them so the solutions are stored in-game for those just wanting to follow the expanding story.

I hope you enjoy the episode. It will have big consequences for Episode 5 – The Disappearance of Amelia Earhart..

A third cassette has appeared..

The third episode is now available!
When I discovered the story of a famous 15th century Lord forever imprisoned in an eternal game of cards with the Devil I knew I wanted to make an episode based on it. I'm still discovering what makes for for a good puzzle and the challenge for this game was; how do you create video game puzzles based around playing card games?
The end result is a series of puzzles that require the player to think about how they can use time travel to manipulate the environment and stack the odds in their own favour. To convince the Lord of Glamis that you are the devil and have unearthly powers, you have be able to win every time.

With the third episode I wanted to further improve my use of music. This episode easily has my favourite soundtrack so far - featuring lots of creepy, sinister orchestral and organ music that helps set the high stakes tone of the story.

I hope you enjoy playing cards with Lord Glamis for all eternity and always remember, time isn't what you think it is!

Game walkthroughs now available

Completely stuck on a puzzle? Is Nostradamus being unusually vague? Walkthrough guides are now available in a retro comic book format on the games menu screen (opens a link to the ono site) or can be directly accessed here;

[Warning - These contain spoilers and are only intended for players that want to continue to play the game but are stuck or wishing to speed up progress through an episode].

A new cassette has appeared..

To uncover who destroyed the Hydro Processor Alex will have to jump nearly 60 years ahead of his own time, but despite the technological advances he will find that people are alike all over..

The inspiration for the atmosphere and tone of this episode comes from John Carpenters 'The Thing'. The Processor is definitely destroyed and the culprit is present. But as everyone appears completely normal and carrying out their daily routines, how do you uncover who the imposter is?

With this second episode I wanted to experiment with the game engine to see how it handled larger environments and more NPCs that follow a daily routine. A multi story office environment seemed ideal and once I'd decided to combine it with 'The Things' interrogation and find the culprit atmosphere the rest of the story wrote itself. Another goal was to include more music and ambient background music after the quiet experience of the first episode.

I hope you enjoy uncovering the mystery, and always remember, time isn't what you think it is!

The Twilight of Infinity is released!

Since I was a kid I've dreamed of creating video games. Now I'm almost 40 a part of me had given up hope. But a year ago I left my job and today I'm so happy to announce the release of 'The Twilight of Infinity' on Steam!
Thank you to everyone who has helped me by giving me their time, support and advice.
This is just the beginning and the end of a long adventure. Remember always, time is not what you think it is..
