Happy 1 Year and many more | Anniversary Update release date

Hello There Everyone, Today marks 1 year since THE UNKNOWN HALLS released on steam. I want to thank anyone who has been along the crazy path of changes this game has undergone.

Today I will be talking about the next big Update to TUH, The Anniversary update. This update will change the story entirely to something unique and new. New Ways to get scared while being chased, and some overall quality of life improvements.

Some new things are things to find around the mazes, now there are rest spots and labs for you to look at to make the maze feel less empty.
The Quality of life improvements are menu changes to make them feel alot more full then they did before.



I want to try and make it so this update will also allow for MAC support as I have had some request for that.
Other than that some other new features are HANDS!!!!
I know it isn't that surprising but this will make it feel less like a dark void and also this introduces the handheld Radio. The handheld Radio is constantly playing music, now when you are close to the subject your radio will start to static over. another thing is that when you get close to the subject your flashlight will now start to flicker and will make it harder to see him and where he is coming from and to make it harder to escape him. There will now also be multiple jump scared animations so when you get jump scared by the subject it will be different each time. There is also new tapes for you to listen to that replaced the old one and even notes.
Notes will help explain more of the world and go a little more in-depth on lore. If wanted I am willing to add more notes if its desired.

That right now is the next big update for TUH that I have planned it will come out March 17th at 2:00pm CST.

The Anniversary Update!!!!

What is the anniversary update? In the anniversary update, there will be multiple changes to TUH. First, the entire story will change to make more sense and be easier to learn than the previous story. There will be some quality of life changes and changes to some previous features like audio tapes and jump scares. The destroyer and the defects have new sound effects that sound more creepy and overall less loud than before. The menus have all been changed to appear more clean and less cluttered than before. There will be multiple notes at the left-over gas mask and desk that give both main lore and side stories to help make each maze feel less empty than it did before.

This update will be available on March 7th, TUH's one-year anniversary. After this update, I might stop working on TUH unless there are features people want added or bugs are found that I didn't find, but once I announce that TUH is fully done and updated, I might experiment with a console port and controller support for PC. But later in 2023, production on our dead future will start, and I will be mostly focused on that for awhile until that is done.

Quick fix

Fixed errors in main menu

ANIMATION UPDATE

What was added:
-New Destructor Animations
-New Defect Animations unique to each one
-Added Challenge maze into files
What was Changed:
-Created new universal Destructor Prefab so its easier to customize
-Changed Defects so when you collide with them it triggers both the stun and the sound at the same time instead of the sound being activated before the stun

The next update will finish this one with new sounds but due to scheduling I had to release the update in two parts.

Quick Patch

What's different?
-lowered The Destructors screaming volume by half (so it isn't as loud as it was)
-Fixed a bug where you could hide behind a radio and it would bug out the AI
-Fixed a bug on subtitles where radios would playback earlier then they should
-increased the stamina bar by 5%

Menu changes

-made menu so it stayed the same size in every resolution and fixed resolution clipping issues
-added something in the first maze for I.E.T.D. reports

Quality of life patch

Quality of life changes:
-Changed Destructors ambiance to a lower pitch
-Changed radios so when player activates them they can't trigger it constantly. Changed it so after one activation player has to wait 25 seconds to activate the radio again
-added a game selection menu from normal mazes to the challenge maze(coming soon)
-Added a how to play menu explain the basics of how to play TUH
-Changed Main Menu logo to Artwork TUH logo
-added new files for Challenge maze

Achievement update

What changed and what was added:
-Changed Jump scare blocks to activate only once when hit
-added new ambiance sounds
-fixed Tape 1
-Added Steam Achievements
