The Visitor

Why The Visitor is 0.99c

I originally made The Visitor as a small project to scare friends and family, just as a small project to whip out when a few people were over. I decided to share it with the VR community, and was blown away by the fantastic amount of support I received.

Like many devs involved in VR at this early stage, I am entirely self funded, and all development is done in the evenings and late into the night. I wanted to give away The Visitor for free, and the only reason I added a price of 0.99c is to help towards making the next experience bigger and better.

A few months back I bought a DK2 to create The Visitor. Since then I had limited access to a Vive, and almost no access to a CV1. I have relied heavily on the good will of others with regard to testing the game on the newer iterations of the headsets. Each contribution will be put towards the next game a longer, higher quality experience for everyone.

Thank you all for your continued support. If you have any questions or queries, please dont hesitate to add me and send a message. I appreciate every contribution, and am always willing to take the time to respond.

I really hope you all enjoy scaring friends and family with The Visitor. :)

Stephen

Running on CV1

Hi everyone,
Regarding the CV1 version, you may have to set your CV1 headset as being the default audio device on your PC before launching the game. Apologies if this is an inconvenience.

1. Right Click your audio symbol on your taskbar
2. Click "Playback devices"
3. Select the CV1 headset, and click "Set as default device"

Don't forget to make sure that you have set your Rift to be allowed to run external apps (Done from the General settings tab when the Oculus service is running).

Apologies for any inconveniences caused. I am working to get past this.
Hope you enjoy scaring friends and family with The Visitor.

The Visitor is a VR only title

Hi everyone.

This is my first ever title on Steam. I spent quite some time working on this game, initially on Oculus Rift, and then on Vive. While building for Steam, I selected the relevant VR options and the game became part of the Steam VR library.

Some of you seem to have downloaded the game thinking that it was a non VR title. It is a VR only title. I have edited the description to be more clear regarding the fact that it is VR ONLY.

For those of you that did download thinking that it was a standard, non-VR title, I will do my best to refund you your money. I am new to Steam, and so I dont know if there is an option for me to do this directly, or if we will have to do it through Paypal separately.

Please just contact me via nostalgicbear@hotmail.com or leave a comment, and we can get this sorted.
