There Came an Echo

Japanese Support Now Available!

Wooo! Almost there! Only Chinese (Simplified) and Chinese (Traditional) remain for language support. And that'll be it for languages!

Portuguese, Korean, and Russian support added

For those who didn't see it, three new languages are up! This leaves only Japanese and Chinese remaining. Everything should be done before the end of next week!

As always, please let us know if you find any errors in the translations, or if a specific voice command doesn't work. You can definitely use the aliases to get around a problem, but we'll be available to fix anything that needs fixing. = D

Spanish, German, Italian, French now supported

Hey, folks! Just added French and Italian support in addition to the previously added German and Spanish. If you come across any inconsistencies or typos, please let us know ASAP! We'll be around to fix any issues that may come up in any language.

Command aliases should be working for all languages as well. Thank you for your patience!

Up next is Portuguese, then we journey to the scary realm of non-romantic languages with Russian, followed by Japanese, followed by Korean!

Also, experimental feature added, not confirmed working though if anyone would like to test it:

- Added 32-bit operating system support by auto-detecting and halving texture resolution. If anyone was crashing after the car scene, this should theoretically fix the issue.

Patch 1.0.5 Notes

Hey, we're back from GDC! And you know what that means: patches! Yayyyy!

- Fixed an issue where the "Affirmative/Negative" dialogue in Mission 4 would not receive voice recognition properly.
- Fixed an issue where going into the game, backing out, and using voice commands to trigger "Play" would cause the main menu to malfunction.
- Fixed an issue whereby aliases for the fifth playable character would not function properly depending on where they were entered.
- Further refined continue/hold position weird edge cases.

Langage support will begin to roll out this week. Spanish/German are likely going to be the first two, following by French and Italian, then Portuguese. After that Japanese is most likely, followed by Russian, Chinese Simplified, and finally, Chinese Traditional.

TCAE is arguably one of the most difficult to localize (not longest, plenty of games have MORE content) games in the history of the medium, thanks to the extremely complex voice recognition work at play and the variability of every language's structures, common use cases, synonyms, and levels of familiarity. We appreciate your patience in this matter.

Patch 1.0.3 Notes

Hey, everyone!

Now that the VoiceCore troubles have finally been taken care of, I was able to sit down and address some of the other bugs everyone has been facing. Here's a quick list of changes for Patch 1.0.3 (including two issues we THINK have been fixed, but aren't completely sure).

For sure fixed
- Fixed a rare bug in which Miranda's loadout would (without notification) switch to a charge gun
- Fixed a rare bug in which characters would stop firing in the middle of battle and stop responding to commands
- Fixed a glitch where telling characters to move to a node to which they were already moving caused a break in movement
- Changed the fifth playable character's internal pronounciation model (will help with en-GB acoustic model users)
- Fifth playable character can now be aliased in appropriate missions
- Fixed numerous ways to break scripting events in Mission 9
- Mission 6 difficulty now increased
- Added dynamic volume balance adjustment for scenes in which there's a ton of gunfire
- Can now scroll properly on the "Commands" subsection of the Alias menu on the title screen

Hopefully fixed
- ALL users should be able to view opening and ending cinematics without the CCCP codec pack (which is no longer installed by default). Please let us know on this one.
- East Asian OS languages should now no longer break the VoiceCore. Please let us know on this one.

There is also a small possibility prior command aliases have been erased. Our apologies if this occurred.
