TheTruth.exe

Additional Information.

It is important for players to realize that TheTruth.exe is in no way to be treated as a typical Steam Game. Do not buy this game if you are expecting it to be an experience similar to games that are frequently seen on this platform.

There can only be one winning team. This does not exist as a game that holds your hand and makes you feel like a hero. You are your team and your team is your identity. All of your successes are successes you have earned and not ones that were destined to happen. There are no pre-written scripts and the "players" in this game are all real people. There is no AI, there is no pre-written responses, it is all real.

This does mean that when a team wins, only THEY will win. Only they will know what they have discovered and after them there will be no winners. If you are hoping to buy this game to "Experience" everything and to find an interesting story, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. If you feel that after paying 1.99 USD (The Launch Price- though it may vary across different countries) that you are owed to be nothing but a hero and a winner no matter what and if you don't win then you're going to throw a temper tantrum and return the game, then let me save you the trouble and tell you not to buy this game from the start.

If you are buying this game as an "Investment" and that you are convinced that by purchasing this game for 1.99 USD then you will more than be reimbursed due to the prize at the end of this competition, then I strongly urge you to reconsider. You must realize that the odds of being the one true hero and winning this "game" are stacked against you. Tremendously.

Here's what you should be looking at when it comes to purchasing thetruth.exe.

This "game" will require you to figure out complex codes and puzzles. You will have to be able to look at images, understand context, read files, discover answers and code phrases etc.

You will be grouped up in a team of 9 random individuals. They could all speak different languages, they might all live down the street from you, or across the country or across the world.

You don't know, no one does. Everyone will have different challenges and the strengths of ONE person will not be enough to win. If you don't like people in general then don't buy this game, but if you would like to take the risk of making life-long friends who would work and discover secrets with you, then buy this game.

If you like secrets, if your curiosity is nagging at you, if you like the surreal, codes and complex puzzles and meeting people that could become lifelong friends built around nothing but random chance and fate, then this is YOUR game.

This game, in essence and in theory, is true capitalism. There are no rules. There are no regulations. There is just winning. It doesn't matter how you do it, if you backstab your friends, cheat, try to join other teams secretly and steal their information, work tirelessly with friends on your own or hack into the game and get core code, whatever you want to do, it's valid. If you enjoy these ideas, this is YOUR game.

The only way you can get disqualified is if you return the game or try to win without ever owning it. (Winning is only valid if you own a copy of this game)

Now if you're thinking "Oh, I'm not going to try because there's no way I could possibly win. I'm not intelligent/skilled/talented/whatever enough." You should remember that the main experiences of this game isn't just winning and that if you never even try then you're just robbing yourself of a one of a kind experience. The other thing to remember is that you have a team of 9 other individuals. Maybe you're not great at codes or puzzles but you have something that could really benefit your team that you're not aware of yet. Maybe you're good with people and could calm people down if they start fighting, or you're great at stealing information from others for your team, or you have friends IRL that can help you. Who knows? No one does. You won't know until you try. You might be the one thing your team was missing that would have helped them win.
