Let’s Talk Tools of the Trade
It's crucial to become familiar with the tools you need as you polish your abilities for the ideal robbery. These aren't just any tools; they are the tools that will make you the greatest thief in Thief Simulator 2. They are your keys to success, your henchmen, and your tools of the trade. Let's examine a few in more detail:
Lockpick This isn't your everyday lockpick; this tool allows you to tackle medium-difficulty locks and even cut open windows for that silent entry. It's the Swiss army knife for burglars! And there are a few versions of this tool!
Neon Bot’ Drone Scoping out your heist location has never been easier. Use the drone to mark tenants, inspect the area, and plan your path to victory. Remember, a well-prepared thief is a successful thief!
Hacking Laptop Some loot is behind high-tech security systems. But worry not, with your hacking laptop, disabling security panels and unlocking electronic doors will be a breeze. Make sure to map out the correct path and secure your prize.
Sleeping Gas Ensure a silent and undisturbed heist with the Sleeping Gas. It's your silent partner in crime, allowing you to swoop in and snatch valuables while everyone else is in a deep slumber. It's not just a tool; it's your ticket to a hassle-free burglary.
Here is the full arsenal at your disposal:
Flashlight
Crowbar
Basic Lockpicking Tool
Lockpick
Automatic lockpick
Glass Cutter
Micro Camera
Binoculars
Noisy walkie-talkie
Dog meat
Baton
Stethoscope
Car lock pick gun
Car signal hijacker
Blowtorch
Sleeping Gas
Respirator
Tranquilizer gun
Tranquilizer dart
Car disassembly toolbox
Shovel
Neon Bot' drone
Quiet shoes
Ski mask
Jewellery tools
Night vision goggles
Hacking laptop
ATM Hacking Tool
Hacking PDA
A word of advice, using the tranquilizer gun or sleeping gas won’t raise alarms as it ensures your victims won't call the police upon waking up, unlike when using a baton.

Hello fellow thieves, I'm still hard at work and there a few new mechanics and things to show.
Planning mode
I have added a planning mode, which allows you to see what the next destination of a tenant will be, without having to go through the journal. Here are two examples of how it works:
It is definitely handy and helps you plan your burglary more efficiently. You can also see stats regarding the tenant, RPG style:
Contracts
Just like in TS1, there will be many contracts to complete.
They involve stealing a certain, unique item. Some of the contracts are infinite - you can do them many times, and each time you get more money and experience.
Stay tuned for more info ːsteamhappyː
Huge update on progress of Thief Simulator 2
Hey everyone, I've been quiet because I took some lessons from the Prologue and implemented them in the full game - hence the release date was moved.
A lot of things have changed and I want to go over them - I won't spoil everything, but here are the most important features.
Graphic improvement
People have (rightfully) complained TS2: Prologue looks worse than TS1, and they were right. That, hopefully, has been improved as seen below. I have changed the sky and added new grass which in my opinion made a big, positive difference.
New player car, additional car to buy
Previous car was pretty weak - one spot for heavy items, it was slow, looked terrible. I have changed the main car to this one - it has a big trunk for heavy objects, so you can put as many as you want.
Also, once you have enough money, you can buy a sports car which has no storage, but it's a fast way to travel and escape from the police. It's just fun to drive and drift with.
Radio stations
No more listening to a playlist. There are 4 radio stations, three with unique commercial breaks. If you listen closely, you can hear get some stealing tips. THIEF.FM, Chill Radio, RockNation and Electro FM were added. Each with unique music
Game saving & loading
Previously, the game saved once in the neighbourhood and when you left the location. Now, you can pretty much save at almost any point with F5, and you also have multiple save slots.
Steam Remote Play
You can invite a friend with a controller to help you with a burglary. They will control the drone with the ability to make sounds, which distract tenants, and disable cameras.
Player home improvements
Many new things have been added to the player home. You can store heavy items in the shed. You can also hang stolen paintings inside. There is a new website, HomeRenovator - you can upgrade your house for some cash, fix broken floor etc. It just makes it nicer to live in. You can also change wallpapers and the floor to your liking.
Leveling up and selling items
You no longer have to leave the map to gain XP, and to sell items. Everything now happens on one map - you gain experience as you pick up the item, and you can sell it on a pawn shop which is in the neighbourhood.
Random daily events
A calendar with events has been added. Each day, there could be some event which will alter tenant's routines, or something else. It could be a burglar awareness day - people are more sensitive, or a chill day where everyone is less alert. It could be a festival, where most people will leave at 9 and come back later, so it's easier to break in. There are many of those so I won't spoil all of them.
Jail
You can now go to jail! When you get caught, you have an option to either reload the save, or go to jail. In hardcore mode, there is no option, you go straight to jail. To get out of jail, you can either break out with lockpicks and find the exit, while being cautious of policemen patrolling the station, or you can bail out for 1/4 of your money. On hardcore mode you lose all stolen items and they are kept at the police station - you can steal them back, if you have the guts.
Payphone timed missions
I have added payphone timed mission to each neighbourhood (two payphones). There are multiple missions where you have to steal a certain item in a limited amount of time - you get paid and gain XP if you manage. You cannot be seen.
There are many more things which I probably forgot, some of them include:
New websites, like Darkbank
Ability to run over people
Police improvements, policemen now shoot at you when you try to escape
New drone abilities
I don't want to spoil all of it, so see you on release day, soon. ːsteamhappyː

Game is complete, plans after release
Well, that is it. Game is done, fully playable. Now for bug fixes, so it's in good shape at release.
I have a few screenshots to share from the second, rich neighbourhood - Hillville.
Also, some screenshots of you and your partner in action. She's of great help.
Your partner going in and marking tenants
Not sure what to say about this
As for the future. Obviously I plan to do a lot of updates after release, in case of bugs and other stuff.
1.1 update will feature a new neighbourhood and new story missions, jobs, items and skills. That would be about 6 months after game's release.
We're closer than ever. Stay tuned ːsteamthisː
Introducing Steam Cloud, controller support, Leaderboard & more
Hey everyone, here's the dev of this magnificent product. I have a few nice things to share with you.
The game is 96% done, the remaining 4% being some parts of controller support, bug fixes, loot balance, voice acting and languages. There are things that were introduced recently:
Steam Cloud
There are 5 profiles for save games - each profile can be used by a different player on the Steam account. All profiles will be synced with Steam Cloud, allowing for playing on different PCs.
Achievements
Yes, the images are missing but not for long. Currently there are 15 achievements you can unlock.
Full Xbox controller support
Like the title. Pretty nice, yeah?
Thief's leaderboard
The more you steal, the more experience you gain, the higher up you'll be. I wonder who will be the ultimate thief and get a #1 spot.
Now that's about it. I'm returning to polishing this excellent game about stealing stuff. I just hope I won't steal anything while working. Stay tuned for more devlogs, as they are coming more often now.
Peace ːluvː
Almost there
Make sure you add the prologue to your wishlist as it's going to be released very soon: Thief Simulator 2: Prologue
Hey everyone, here's a quick update on progress with Thief Simulator 2.
The game is 85% done, I'm mostly now placing loot, adding cars and stuff like that. Story mode is complete. Here's a few screenshots from one of the heists: Banks and security lasers
I decided to add a simple gas & rent system. You have to pay rent every few days (it's not a big amount of $$$), and your car gas automatically refills every 60 liters, for a few bucks. It doesn't go up into your face, it's more subtle than real life rent, so don't worry.
I'm trying to make the second neighbourhood look good. It's the rich type, full of good stuff to take, much like Richie St. from Thief Simulator 1.
I estimate about 3-4 months before the full game is completed.
