Presidents Day Update!

Minor update for all our new Thirst fans!

- Add single pass stereo rendering and other performance improvements

  • Plasma shotgun, good for short range attacks and to defend against the new drones and missiles
  • A Zeppelin that shoots a drone swarm at you (Yes you can destroy it, but it's hard!)
  • Helicopter missiles are targeted and can be destroyed

Bonus Time!


Another massive update for you all today!

Your biggest request has been health bonuses. We went one step further and made all sorts of crazy of bonuses along with a global leaderboard and updated enemy mechanics.

Bonuses:
- +10 Health
- Shield - 15 seconds where you can’t get damaged
- Crazy Fire Machine Gun - Twice as fast, twice as deadly
- Ultra RPG - Reduced RPG recharge rate from 15 seconds to 1. Go crazy!
- Super Grenade - Rare but BIG!

Console Display - No one was using the watch to get their health stats, so we moved that over to the console. It shows health and points, and when a bonus is active it shows you which bonus and how long is left.

Updated enemy mechanics - The beginning is easier, the ending is much harder :)

Global Leaderboard - Compete for the all time high score!

More performance updates - Although we fixed the performance issues with our November update we always find more ways to tweak and improve.

Thanks everyone for your amazing feedback and patience while we worked on this update to Thirst VR.

To get this right, we re-coded the game nearly from scratch. It's an all new map, new enemies and, yes, new weapons! The much desired RPG here and it packs a punch! BOOM TIME!

Most importantly we've drastically increased performance. We rarely saw dips below 90 FPS during final testing.

This really is a whole new game. We wanted to ensure everyone who supported Thirst early on didn't have to pay for it again, however, so we released this as a free update.

We hope you enjoy this new version of THIRST as much as we did making it.

Updates!

New map video!

We have recreated the game nearly from the ground up.

A few highlights:

  • Consistent 100FPS!!!
  • New physics
  • All new map, completely remade and over 4x bigger than the original
  • All new enemy AI. You can't tell in the video since it's not done yet and the enemies aren't correctly spawning.
  • Grenades now work although not in this video



What's left:

  • Finish enemy AI.
  • A little bit of mapping.
  • Add some old elements back in, such as the bullet tracers and some of the crazy fun enemy behavior.


We're very close to done and it's essentially an all new game. We will be raising the price upon release to $4.99.

Future: It's becoming clear this needs to be a multiplayer game. One team is on the train and protects it. The other team is in the buggies, helicopters and another vehicle and they attack the train. If you want to see this, let us know!

Performance Update Released!!

Thirst fans - Thanks for all the great feedback! We have been hard at work on increasing performance and made significant improvements.

We would love your feedback to see how much of performance increase you are seeing. Our tests how show ~15%.

We also moved the scoreboard keyboard closer (sorry about that!).

New models, map and weapons will be coming in a few weeks! We'll have another performance update in a week after we get feedback.

WOW! We can't believe how much great feedback we've already received both here and on Reddit. Hundreds of you have had your first taste of THIRST. We can't wait to bring you more.
