Greetings Chiefs!
Today we are glad to announce the beginning of the This Land is My Land beginners guide contest!
As the game continues to gain more features new players are beginning to have more and more questions when starting out. Who better to guide these new players than those who went through the same process!
The goal of the contest is to create a guide that teaches new players how to play the game, where to start, and any general tips and tricks.
Contest guidelines
It can be in a written or video format.
It must be uploaded to the Steam guide section or Youtube.
Contents must follow Steam community guidelines.
Links to the guide must be posted in the Discord channel #guide-submission.
It must be aimed at teaching new players.
You can submit previously made guides as long as they are up to date.
How entries will be judged
The overall quality of writing in the guide/video.
How well game mechanics are taught.
Amount of useful and relevant info that is included in a natural way.

A New Update Is Live: Various Fixes and Improvements

We have released another update with various bug fixes and game improvements. Check out the full changes under this post.

Smoke Signal added to Camp Menu
After setting Smoke Signal all warriors will come back to camp and ignore orders until Smoke Signal is removed
Chapman Works M1892 significantly improved

Burn enemy settlements
Burning can be initiated with newly added skill Burn Settlement or by ordering your warriors to attack the settlement and allowing them to burn it. Please note—only empty camps can be burned
First Person Perspective (EXPERIMENTAL)
First and Third Person perspectives can be changed by Numpad Enter (key can be rebound). Please note this is an experimental feature, it will be improved if liked by players.

Trading Post overhaul
Each trader in Trading Post now has his own role (weapon and ammo trader, food and goods trader and resource trader)
Each Trading Post has own preference for your reputation We've added Dime, a universal trading item for Trading Posts, it is widely spread across enemy camps and can be traded for in Trading Posts.
More vantage and safe points added to most camps
Preparing for action will be much safer
HUD toggles added to Game-play settings. Most HUD elements can be turned off now. The founder names can also be turned off in settings.
And many more improvements and bug fixes.

Chief,
After many hours of hard work from the development team and our exceptional community members' continuous testing contribution, the update you have been waiting for is here! We present to you the most extensive update of This Land Is My Land to date, which we have no doubt will improve your experience in this dynamic and unique world.
You can now update the game via the Steam client and play the latest version of This Land Is My Land. Here are the major changes you will experience:
War Parties
We have expanded the warrior management system. You can now have a war party where you will lead up to 16 warriors to battle (4 groups of 4 warriors). You can issue orders such as follow, attack, move, and more. In addition to this, you will be able to manage their equipment and generally utilize your warriors more effectively than ever before. Your war party will also level up automatically as they build experience in battle.
Horse Bond and More
Make a bond with any horse and genuinely have a personal mount. In addition to this, we added:
The ability to sneak on a horse to get past the enemy
Saddlebag to carry items on your horse and bring some extra loot with you
Capability to call your horse from a distance by whistling
Auto-travel while on a horse for ease of traveling long rides or performing your usual chief management work on the go
The ability to name a horse which will provide unique stats to the horse similarly to your main character
Horse progression which will unlock increased horse speed and health
Firearms Overhaul
You can bring your bow, but don't forget your rifle! We have entirely overhauled firearms, and now guns are much more useful and deadly. The firearms will have different distinctions and their unique use. For example, Flintlocks will now have more significant damage and hit power, Winchesters received more ammo in the magazine, etc.
New Unity Version and Optimization
The Unity game engine received an update to the latest version with lots of technical work behind the scene. In English terms, you shall see increased game stability, better FPS—especially for lower-end computers—and general compatibility. This update also allows us to continue improving other aspects of the game and provides the tools we need to keep building the game furthermore.
We have optimized the game for better performance and stability. With the engine update and more optimization work, you can expect a smoother and better game experience. Please, keep in mind that this is still not final, and we will keep optimizing the game. Optimization is one of the essential focuses in our development stages of This Land Is My Land.
Improved Character Creation and Naming System Changes
One of the most popular feedback we received about This Land Is My Land is the character's creation naming system. We have changed the way things work, and now you will be able to use the name of your choice in combination with additional options. On the most left side of the options are less impactful positive stats with little to no negative impact on your starting stats. While the most right side choices are more impactful stats with higher negative starting stats. Choose wisely because your name is your lineage, and it will bring you immense power or great demise.
New Map Controls & UI Improvements
We have heard your criticism in the progress of the enemy and generally in-game time. To address that, we implemented a speed control for the strategy map. Now you will be able to control your strategic gameplay and planning more precisely. You can pause, give orders, speed up, and see actions get executed.
Various other user interfaces (UI) improvements have also been made for ease of use.
New Settlements
In the past, we already added a lot of settlement types such as farms, mines, trading locations, etc. We are continually improving and expanding with new settlements to increase the immersion of the game. Now you can enjoy new graphics for the former locations and new types of areas such as the Steam Donkey, different varieties of mines, and other gathering places.
SOCIAL inventory change
Your SOCIAL inventory will now grow over time when you use the SOCIAL trading feature. For those that do not know, SOCIAL trading is a feature found in the game which allows you to trade with other real players. That is an essential tool to find resources that might not be located nearby your friendly camps or do not want to be bothered to gather them. Warpaint prices are now significantly lower and will only cost tokens and skill points.
Animal AI
We have tweaked and improved some issues with animals. The artificial intelligence (AI) of animals has dramatically improved, so they are now more realistic. Animal speed has also received changes per your feedback and suggestions in addition to our internal testing. Player hunting and fishing are improved, which now provides more resources and makes fishing easier.
Player Health
We increased the player's health so you can live to fight another day! Your health improves furthermore by leveling up your character skills using skill points.
Animation Improvements
All around animation improvements have been made. Lots more to come!
Bug fixes
We are actively testing the game, reading your in-game reports (press F11 to report bugs), and your discussion posts. From this information, we have fixed lots of bugs, and we will continue to do so. Thank you for all the inputs, reports, and support on the bug fixing process.

What is the fun if we spoil it all! Jump in now and try the game for yourself. There are many new changes you will notice that has not been mentioned here, such as the new main menu music you can immediately enjoy before you set out to take back your lands.
The road for the game does not end here! There is still a lot to come, and we are excited for everyone to jump in and see the changes for yourself. If you have never played the game before, there has never been a better time to try it.
We want to give you a status update on the development progress of This Land Is My Land. As you already know, regardless of COVID-19, we continued the work on the game from home. Typically, we release patches almost every week, keeping the game updated, fixing any issues, and adding more features. We are sure you have noticed that there has not been an update released for a few weeks now. That is because we have been working on the most extensive update for the game than ever before. We are also conducting a closed testing branch via Steam to test this new major update while closely working with our community via Discord to find and fix any possible issues before public release. The testing has been going exceptionally well, and we love seeing the fantastic involvement from the community.
That said, now we will share some of the things you can look forward to in the next major update of This Land Is My Land.
Horse Bond and Related Features
