Quality of Life:



  • Possible improvements to connections in-game
  • Added fill tool to deathnote
  • Added a streamer mode that can be enabled in the lobby. It creates a separate chat for system messages and night chat, and it creates a separate display for allies. Your room at night will be replaced with a shot of the throne at night.


General:

Fool:



  • Hide now grants death immunity instead of preventing visitors.


Knight:



  • Will no longer attack players when using Cold Steel if they are redirected.

Mercenary:

1.1.0 Patch Notes

QoL:



  • Overhauled the lobby and in-game UI.
  • If you leave games while dead, you will still earn 40% of the gold you would've gained had you stayed once that game ends. If you already completed your objective, you'll get the full gold amount you'd normally win.
  • You can now copy things from other players' journals.
  • The starting King is now always player 1.
  • Added the ability to mute players in-game.
  • Knight's Sacrifice ability has been renamed to Defend.


General:



  • Added Emotes (NOT EMOJIS) for purchase in the store. You can use your currently equipped emote once a day.
  • Added Deathnote colors for purchase in the store. You can use all the colors you purchase for your deathnotes.
  • Players who are blocked from voting will now be shown as abstaining during trials.

Minor Class/Ability Changes:


ALL GAME MODES

Butler:
* Nightshade Wine will no longer notify the King and will kill the same day.
* Concentrated Wine no longer says you were occupied while visiting target. Now has a more generic message.

Drunk:
* Happy Hour now has a more generic message.

King:
* Order Execution will now only announce the kill when it succeeds.
* Evil King now has a 35% chance of spawning and Good King a 65%. Neutral King can no longer spawn at the start.

Mastermind:
* If someone tries to redirect them, they will know who they would've been redirect to.

Mercenary:
* Can no longer accuse their target of treason.
* They will automatically vote to pardon their target.

Possessor:
* Unlimited uses of Facelift.
* Possess reduced to 2 uses and you will now get your target's deathnote.

Reaper:
* Icy Touch - Chilled players can no longer talk to the dead and are instead silenced.

Scorned:
* Abilities will be disabled after winning, but can leave after winning and get their winning at the end of the game.

CLASSIC MODE

Inquisitor:
* Abilities will be disabled after winning, but can leave after winning and get their winning at the end of the game.
* Ruthless Efficiency will now kill all targets, but will only bypass the Sorcerer's night immunity.

Sorcerer:
* Magic Cloak will now make the Sorcerer appear as a non-magic user to the Inquisitor in addition it its current effects.

Physician:
* Reanimate removed
* Added Day Ability Inoculate - Make a player immune to Nightshade and bleeding. Does not cure it. 1 use.
* Added Night Ability Self-Care - If you are attacked tonight, you will heal yourself. 2 uses.

Princess:
* Changed Will-o-Wisp - Tells you if the target attacks anyone tonight. Only detects attacks that count as visiting. 2 uses.

Psychic:
* Renamed to Mystic.
* No longer has Call of The Dead.
* No longer unique
* New Night Ability Conduit - Allow two players to talk to each other for the rest of the night. You will be able to hear, but not speak to them. 2 uses.
* Link Minds and Conduit will not work on other linked players, reaped players, or other Mystics.

CLASSIC MODE

Apostle:
* Replaced Cult Numbers with Telepathy. 2 uses


Casual Mode Overview:



  • The Blue Dragon classes that can spawn are - Butler, Knight, Mystic, Physician, Prince, Princess, and Sheriff.
  • There can be up to 3 of each non-unique Blue Dragon class.
  • Fool, Sorcerer, and Inquisitor cannot spawn.
  • Cult and Paladin cannot spawn.
  • No Royal Blood passives.

Preview of Upcoming Patch



It's been a while since our last patch - for a good reason.

Throne of Lies has officially been available for five months, and tens of thousands of you have joined us at the round table.

We thought it was time to spruce up the user interface and to include new ways for players to express their individuality.

Along with some balance changes, we will also be including a new game mode called Casual Mode.
It's a simplified version of the current classic game mode. It will have less classes and will only feature the Unseen, but all the classes included will be the same between the two game modes.

The patch will be released in a couple weeks after a private and public testing period.

Stay tuned for a peak behind the curtain at a more colorful kingdom where all of the visions of the players behind castle Adiart will become more vivid and alive.... until you die.

1.0.18 Patch Notes

Butler:



  • Nightshade Wine will now kill the King the same day he is poisoned, unless healed. Can now be used before Day 4.

King:



  • Can now be voted up before Day 4.
  • If the starting Good King is executed, then the court will be unable to accuse anyone of treason for a day.
  • Order Execution - Now only bypasses death immunity, and can be used before Day 4.

Mastermind & Cult Leader:



  • After failing to convert someone two times in a row, if the next conversion fails, it will instead target a random convertable player.

Sheriff:



  • No longer unique or unconvertable.
  • Surveillance has been removed.

1.0.17 Patch Notes

General:



  • New female armor and new crossbow execution added.
  • At least 1 Paladin will always spawn in Cult games.
  • Abilities that do not count as visiting will now bypass things that say they prevented you from "visiting".


Butler & Servant:



  • Concentrated Wine now bypasses occupy immunity. (This is the party ability)


King:



  • Starting King now has a 60% chance to be Good, 20% to be Neutral, and 20% to be Evil.
  • Order Execution will now announce to the court that the King ordered the execution of a player.
  • Order Execution will now bypass everything and will be unhealable.


Bug Fixes:



  • Fixed bug with Defile.
  • Fixed a bug allowing people to update their public journal right after they died.
  • Fixed a bug where a converted Unseen was promoted to Assassin after Assassin was promoted to Mastermind.
  • Added logs to help find a Possess bug, which may have been fixed. If you encounter this bug please post your output_logs on the bugs channel in our discord server or on Steam

King:


  • Replaced Order with Killer Guards - Send a guard to attack a player. 2 uses. Only starting King has this ability.




General:


  • Everyone can now draw in their deathnote.
  • Spy/Cult Maid no longer counts as a visit.
  • Disabled the early game over checks for the time being. (Games would end when they shouldn't, even when things like DK's and abilities were accounted for.)


QoL:


  • Private Notes background updated.

Assassin:

Enforcer:


  • Removed Armored passive, since Protection was changed.

Ritualist:


  • Tornado reduced to two uses.
  • Brotherhood changed to single target, uses increased to three.


Sheriff:


  • Now always spawns in Unseen games, and is now unique and unconvertable.
  • New night ability Surveillance - Prevent visitors and learn the name of those that try. You will be alerted if an Unseen member tries. 3 uses.


Sorcerer:


  • Magic Dust uses reduced to 2.
  • Circle of Death uses reduced to 2.
  • New Day Ability Magic Cloak - Hides your visits at night. 2 uses.


Bug Fixes:


  • Fixed a bug with some abilities not being usable during trials.
  • No longer shows multiple healing messages to those being healed. All healers should still know if someone needed healing.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes people wouldn't show up as visitng. The only abilities or classes that shouldn't show up as visiting will say so in the class card.
  • Some others.

1.0.15 Patch Notes

General:


  • Noble and Aristocrat have returned.
  • Improved the wording of occupy immune passives to include immunity to target changing.
  • Players will no longer receive messages saying someone tried to occupy them or change their target if it was blocked by the Court Wizard's barrier.
  • Added the fact that someone could be protected by the Court Wizard's barrier to the reasons an ability failed
  • Added King to the list of classes newer players can't get.

Apostle:


  • Reworked to behave like the new Noble.
  • Day Ability Cult Pressure - Force a player to vote for another and prevent further voting from them. 2 uses

  • Chains of Corax now has 3 uses.

Marshal:


  • Snoop and Listen In removed.
  • New Night Ability Probe - Determine a player's class if they are part of the Blue Dragon.

Noble & Aristocrat:

1.0.14 Patch Notes

General:


  • You will now have a decreased chance of getting the same class you played in your last game.
  • New female starter armor added. It's free, but you will still need to "purchase" it on the store.
  • Inquisitor, Knight, and Death Knight will no longer be attacked by the Hunter's bear when attempting to attack him, since they end up not actually attacking him.
  • Improved reporting system.

Court Wizard:


  • No longer unique.
  • Removed Ice Ward.
  • New Night Ability Magic Barrier - Protect a player from all negative affects and conversion. Does not prevent kills. Unlimited uses. You will receive a notification if it blocks something.
  • Tornado now limited to 3 uses.
  • Tornado will no longer change the targets of occupy immune players.

Knight & Enforcer:


  • New passive Armored - You will survive the first attacker you block with Sacrifice/Protection.

Possessor:


  • Players no longer know when they're controlled with Puppet Strings, unless they're killed because they were controlled.
  • Puppet Strings now allows the Possessor to see whispers to and from the controlled player the next day. Will no longer be able to control the King.
  • New Day Ability Facelift - Change the class your body will appear as when you swap bodies using Possess. 3 uses.

Psychic:


  • You can now attempt to use Link Minds again if it fails.

Scorned:


  • Can no longer get Hunter as a target.

Sorcerer:


  • Perception now prevents you from attacking Cult or Unseen members.

Bug Fixes:


  • Herbalist's Defile now properly checks if the player will die of poison/bleeding that night.
  • Fixed Hunter's Revenge bug.
