Thrust & Shoot: Flight School

Mini-update

Hello pilots

A small update is now live. It contains a few small fixes and changes to level environments. Nothing much, gameplay is the same. Hopefully.

Thanks for reading and good hunting !

Version EA.07 Live !

A new mission is ready for you ! Intercept incoming missiles before they hit your mothership. Make sure you don't go too near the enemy ship and their point defenses, and don't stray into artillery fire !

As always, I'm looking forward to your feedback about the new mission and any other topic about the game.

Launch ! Launch ! Launch !

Version EA.06 now live !

All pilots, be advised

Thrust&Shoot version EA.06 is now live and ready.

The primary change is the ship's cockpit which now features not just one, but TWO radar displays ! One shows every object you've detected in relation to your ship, the other displays position, relative velocity and firing solution for your current selection. The previous radar was almost unusable when there were multiple objects nearby. After trying out several types of 3d displays, this is the best solution I've arrived at. Let me know what you think about it.

Other changes include regrouping the cockpit instruments for a cleaner look as well as several graphical and gameplay updates and bug fixes.

The plan for the next version is the addition of a new mission. More details to come.

Thanks for reading and good hunting !

Price increase

I've started the process which, if all goes well, will increase the Early Access price for the game. I feel the the game's development has now advanced enough to warrant a bigger price.

The new price is still cheaper than what the final version of game will cost. This is because the final version will have more: more missions, better interface, fewer bugs.

Big thanks to everyone who took a risk and bought into Early Access

Version EA.05 Live !

Greetings, fellow pilots ! Here's what's new:

Assault map has been completely reworked: kill enemy turrets that are guarding a giant ring of floating rock. Take out power generators to disable turrets, take advantage of the ring itself to take cover.. and blast those batteries to space dust !

Additionally, a smaller rework of the Basic Flight map improves both gameplay and performance.

Last but not least, various tweaks, fixes and improvements throughout the game.

The next update will be focused on gameplay changes and improvements: I'm planning a major overhaul to the game's interface, cockpit displays and more !

Thanks for reading and good hunting !

Version EA.04 Live

Attention all pilots, version EA.04 is freshly live, ready for you to try out.

This update contains the game's intended progression system. After completing Basic Flight (the tutorial), you can fly the missions. However, you must earn at least the Bronze Medal in a mission (the lowest medal) in order to unlock the next mission.

There are four medals available: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Ace. They are progressively more difficult to earn. You can always replay any mission and try to earn a higher medal. How many can you Ace ?

The game saves your progression to the Steam Cloud, so you can change computers without losing your current progression and medals earned.

Other features of note are Steam Achievements and the Credits section, giving credit to all the creators whose work is included in the game.

The following update will focus more on gameplay. More details soon(-ish).

Thanks for reading and good hunting !

Version EA.03 Live Now

All pilots, be advised: the next version of the game is live and awaiting your feedback.

You'll find major improvements to the game's visuals: projectiles, muzzle flashes, explosions, damage effects as well as the overall visual feel and aspect.

Also starring, a gameplay fix for the Assault mission: enemy turrets now fire short, concentrated bursts which are somewhat easier to dodge, but also more deadly if you do get hit.

And of course, a number of other, smaller improvements that you'll have the pleasure to find in-game.

Good hunting !

PS: for the next update, besides bug squashing and gameplay tweaks, the big planned feature is Career Persistence. Medals that you earn in missions will become permanent and control your progression. Expect more info as the update nears deployment, most likely during early September 2017.

Thanks for your time

Situation Report - Mid August 2017

Briefly:
- "Assault" mission (first draft) is live
- next update (version EA.03: visual and gameplay improvements) is in progress
- price increase is delayed a few weeks

Greetings pilots and future pilots

Thanks for reading this report, and thank you very much indeed to everyone who purchased the game in its current, unfinished form.

I'll be describing in a bit more detail what's new in the game since the latest update and what'll be coming up next.

Version EA.02 has been live for about a week. The big addition was the first draft of the Assault mission, where you're tasked with clearing enemy turrets from a group of asteroids floating together in the middle of a nebula. This is the first version of this mission and it stands to receive significant updates.

Version EA.03 is currently in progress. It won't have big chunks of content, but I believe it will significantly improve what's currently in the game. Of course, you'll be the judge of that, but I'm feeling pretty optimistic. There will be some visual improvements and lots of gameplay tweaks and fixes, especially in the Assault mission. I'll go into more detail when the patch goes live.

The price increase that I've warned about in the previous announcement hasn't happened, for reasons beyond my control and that I wasn't aware of when I made that promise. So, for now the game is staying at its heavily reduced starting price; however, I am assured that the price boost will be able to take place sometime during September 2017.

That's all for now.
Thank you very much for your time

New mission and price increase !

All pilots, be advised
Incoming game update, time to impact under 200,000 seconds.
Stand by for new mission, designation "Assault".
Good hunting

To all future pilots
Thrust&Shoot is getting bigger and more expensive. Expect a price increase as soon as the next update is released.
More price increases will follow, as the game approaches Release state, bugs are fixed, existing content is polished and more content is added.
So, if you want to get in on the cheap, now's the time !
Best Regards
