Daily Challenge Concept
Feedback and reviews have been great! The top 2 requests are for more arenas and a level editor. After a lot of brainstorming, we've created a concept that combines those 2 requests into a Daily Challenge.
Each day a new randomly generated maze of user created rooms will be available. Once again you'll team-up with yourself to get a highscore, but this time that's done by collecting the most gold.
If there's enough support for this game mode, we'll continue development, and it'll be released as a free Time Rifters update.
We made a short video to give you more details and a closer look at our prototype arena:
We've integrated the latest Oculus SDK 0.4.3 Beta that was released last Friday, but we can't release it as the default build due to performance problems vs. the 0.4.2 SDK.
We only recommend using the beta branch if you updated your Oculus Runtime to 0.4.3 and are now having trouble running Time Rifters.
If you want to try out the latest Time Rifters build that uses the 0.4.3 SDK:
Restart Steam to ensure your client is up-to-date
Right click on 'Time Rifters' in your Steam games list
Choose the 'Betas' tab
Select 'dk2 - Oculus 0.4.3 SDK'
Steam will immediately do an update and switch you over
Windows
If you installed the Oculus 0.4.3 Runtime, the default steam build will have a good framerate and lower latency, but the entire scene will be darker.
If you installed the Oculus 0.4.3 Runtime & opt into the Time Rifters 0.4.3 SDK beta, you will likely have framerate problems.
Mac
If you installed the Oculus 0.4.3 Runtime, the default steam build will have broken head tracking causing an uncomfortable experience.
If you installed the Oculus 0.4.3 Runtime & opt into the Time Rifters 0.4.3 SDK beta, you will likely have framerate problems but the head tracking will be correct.
Let us know if you run into any problems.
We'll keep you updated. If you are interested there is a discussion regarding the performance issues on the Oculus Developer Forums.

Faking Eye Tracking
- Added 'Vertical Offset' to Oculus headlook mode
- Added 'Vertical Scale' & 'Horizontal Scale' to Oculus headlook mode
- Both options are configurable via the controls panels
For reference: Vertical Offset adjusts the pitch of the crosshair up/down by the specified number of degrees (moving it higher or lower on the screen). It only affects headlook mode. There can be separate Vertical Offset values for gamepad vs. mouse & keyboard. Default is zero. This feature was suggested by RiftyTheRifter.
For reference: Vertical & Horizontal Scale adjusts how much the crosshair moves away from center as you turn your head. As you turn your head, you often move your eyes too, so the crosshair now moves a bit further in the direction you are looking (default is 150%). This feature was suggested by BOLL.
To make sure the game updates, restart Steam.

New Let's Replay Features
Time Rifters is filling up with awesome Let's Replays, so we've just updated the Let's Replay menu to easily see which ones you've already played and your highscore.
The Steam avatars used for the Let's Replays looked so cool we wanted to show them off more. The avatars & custom Steam Workshop item descriptions are now showcased in the clone room before each arena.
