It's that time of the year again - playtest time! We add stuff - you play stuff - you give us feedback about stuff. Easy!
How to join?
Find "Join the Time to Morp Playtest" on the main page of the game, and press "Request Access" (you will get it immediately).
What to expect from the game?
Current version of the game is v0.5, meaning that nothing is final and there is little content to play with. So expect missing mechanics, some imbalance, absence of key rebindings and lack of cool animations on every click, but you should be able to get the feeling of the game and have fun for several hours!
Where to send feedback?
Start a discussion here on Steam, or join our Discord Server to discuss your experience directly with us in #playtest channel. We will be waiting!
For how long the Playtest will last?
We will close the playtest on July 11th to go through your feedback and then shift our focus back to development.
Patch Notes (v0.5)
The idea behind new patch was to fix countless problems with Wires, so we removed them from the game and replaced them with new Power Poles. We also rebalanced whole early game progression and how some Morps work in an attempt to improve flow of the game. Oh, we also added a new mechanic to play with - Lasers!
NOTE: Old save files (from v0.4) won't work with the new patch (v0.5)!
New Features:
Power Poles Power is fully reworked, Wires are removed. This should make power more interesting to play with.
Lasers Lasers are our version of "High Power Lines". We will expand more on it in next patches.
Early Game Rebalance It should be easier to get resources now, and should create a smoother difficulty curve in the beginning of the game.
Improvements:
Player can "swim"
Compass UI
New Building: Beacon
Crafting reworked (Can queue multiple recipes at once, continue crafting even when UI is closed)
New Stove / Pocket Stove UI
Optimization: VFX, Map Loading
New feature: Quick Copy (Middle Mouse Button to copy any building and its settings)
Lets do this! Lets test this thing so we could improve it and make it better! Tell us everything! We are starting another playtest!

Patch Notes (v0.4)
Our top priorities were missing features, lacking mechanics and problems pointed out by players of the previous playtest. That's why we made major improvements, reworks and redesigns to old systems, but not much new content was added. Basics go first.
New Features:
New Quests/Story Added first part of the main story with new dialogues, cutscenes and NPCs
New Controls Main character can jump!! And has better camera controls (based on players request)
New Research UI Bigger, clearer, more straight-forward
New Decor UI Decor works in a new and improved way, hence the new UI
Player customization First iteration of skin/face/costume customization
New Buildings Added Teleporters and Chests (based on players request)
New Morps Added some regular Morps and new Tricky Morps (temporary Morps with just one ability)
New reasons to explore Morps, new resources and story pieces should give more reasons to wander around (based on players request)
Improvements:
Morp Wiki UI 2.0
Milestones UI
Help Screen
Rebalance
Additional Music/Sounds
More Menu Options
Optimization
Ton of fixes
NOTE: Save files from v0.3 are not compatible with v0.4 game
Thanks to everyone who participated in the playtest! We had a blast reading your feedback and had a laugh from the bugs you have found! Time to Morp fix some stuff!
Results
Overall, everything went according to plan. Only a few bugs, not too many annoyances, and many requests and suggestions are about something we are already working on! But the best part is that everyone seems to enjoy the gameplay, which makes us quite happy! We just need to keep on working and adding more content!
What's next
Patch 0.4 is already in production, and this time we would like to touch up some existing mechanics (décor, movement) and fully invest in new ones to improve exploration. It would also be cool to finally add some story, so let’s hope we will have time for that! The next playtest is currently planned at the end of the Summer. So be ready to come back and enjoy the game again!
Fanart
Meanwhile, we received some amazing art from playtesters on our Discord Server! Much thanks to them!
And that’s all for now! The Playtest will be closed in a few hours, so be sure to save and give us your last notes! Cya next time!
Changes: - areas no longer "lose" resources on load - morps should no longer float unresponsivly. If morps DO float, please take a screenshot of the area and send us the log file - fixed multiple grammar errors
Thank you for playing!
