Hey everyone, we have been hard at work on this latest update for TO THE TOP. This will be our biggest update for the game and we hope you really like it. This has been a long time coming and wanted to make sure this was a complete package for all our fans. So we are happy to announce our MEGA MULTIPLAYER UPDATE!
-Multiplayer-
Our biggest addition in this MEGA UPDATE is Multiplayer, now you can compete with up to 8 friends or community members in a whole new way with over 25 levels! This mode is competitive and cooperative, you can race for the best times or work together to create all new shortcuts. Competing in Multiplayer also unlocks new Hands, Torsos, Player Trails, and more with our new AP system (Academy Points). TO THE TOP Multiplayer mode is very unique and we think it creates a fun competitive atmosphere without needing to be combative, so we hope you join in and have a good time. 25 Multiplayer Levels - Take your skills from the single player and jump across levels that you are familiar with, some that have been tweaked, and some that are totally unique to multiplayer.
Create Your Own Shortcut - For the first time, players can use Placeable Objects to create all new shortcuts in the game. These can be placed anywhere you can reach and shared with all players during the Multiplayer session. Work together to create the best possible shortcuts.
8 Players Per Match - Each multiplayer session can accommodate up to 8 players. We also have a “Join a Friend” feature to easily jump to a steam friend’s session. Multiplayer can be fun with just 2 people but with 8 players, it is a party!
Race - Compete against the other players in your session and post the best time before the match ends. Race at your own speed and focus on getting the best run. Race against more players to earn more Academy Points (AP).
CO-OP - Work together with the other players in the session to build a shortcut to achieve the CO-OP Time Goal. Only one person needs to break this time goal to achieve Academy Points (AP) for all players.
New Customizables - Acquiring more Academy Points (AP) will lead to unlocking all new Multiplayer Customizables. This can range from new Hands, Torsos, Trails, and more.
Events - We aim to have weekly events for the TO THE TOP community to come online and play together. Our first weekly event is TO THE TOP TUESDAYS where every Tuesday @ 10 EST / 7 PST developers and community members race each other and chat. Join our discord to hear about more events. -5 New Bonus Campaign Levels-
We heard from your reviews about much you enjoyed our single player campaign with 30+ levels. It is one of longest and most well rounded single player games in VR right now and we wanted to give you even more. So we added 5 all new levels to the campaign and it holds all new challenges for you to overcome. These new Bonus levels will test even the best TO THE TOP players out there.
Pick A Path - Adds a new element to our levels, the ability to choose between branching paths with our Lock and Key system. Pick your path with over a dozen of combinations to reach the finish. You will want to run this level multiple times to find the path that is the fastest for you.
Break It - This level will test your precision with mid air grabs and small handholds as you leap from platform to platform. It is up to you to break the locks and race for the finish line.
Spikes - One of the most challenging TO THE TOP levels to date. Spikes cranks up the difficulty with crumbling handholds, spinning blades, and spikes….. spikes, spikes, and even more spikes. Inspired by the Lava levels in Super Mario, Spikes will test any player that steps up to it.
Amaze - Featuring move spinners, Amaze is a challenging level with one of the most difficult Hidden Medals to find. Good luck!
Kitchen Sink - We throw in the kitchen sink with this level. Featuring every kind of obstacle / mechanic in the campaign. This level is a relay race to see how you can overcome each challenge. Just don’t fall into the drain.
-Additional Features and Fixes-
Over the past couple of months of building this update we have also have been addressing bugs and adding features to the overall game. These should enhance all aspects of the game and help with certain VR setups.
Snap Turn - Traditional snap turning option, helpful for players who have a 180 degree setup.
Grab Turn - A new way to turn your camera in VR, reach out, hold a button and move your arm in the direction you would like to turn.
Seated Mode - Want to sit down and play? Well go for it, we will boost your player to an average height. Just play with one of the turning methods above and you are good to go.
Native Oculus Support - Performance increase for Oculus players.
Enhancements to Geom Collecting / Hidden Medal - Updated Geoms and Hidden Medal with new particle FX and sounds to help with collection.
Level Optimization - Most levels have been optimized to run even faster and extend support for lower end hardware.
Level Fixes - Exploitable sections of levels have been patched and better suited for speed running.

Hey there Super Bot Pilots, this is our first update less than a week after launch. This update includes bug fixes, changes, and new features. Here is a breakdown
- Fix for an error that can occur when trying to read the save file
- Add mirrored view options (normal, fisheye, and off)
- Switched default window to a windowed display instead of fullscreen and to a size that better represents what the player sees in the headset
- Adjustments to Honey and Wall Run
- Changed the name of 'Under Hangs' to 'Over Hangs'
- Added tutorial panel on how to use Wrist UI
- Geoms now rotate in the level making it easier to see in game
- Fixed some in-game text
Streaming and capturing VR games can be difficult, each game can range on how it is best presented. Our main goal is for TO THE TOP videos to look like Go-Pro shots taken from free runner and climber’s heads. We are not there yet, but we added more options for the community to use while capturing video. You can see a demonstration of this here.
