Today marks the exact two-year anniversary of the launch of The Division! The anniversary celebration is already well underway with the Global Event Weekends, and we are continuing the celebration today with the announcement that we are already working on The Division 2. We have learned so much over the course of The Division, and we want to take the opportunity to implement those lessons to create the best experience possible for our players. We also want to take advantage of new advancements to the Snowdrop engine.
We are excited to share more news with everyone at this year’s E3 in June.
With The Division 2 in development, that does not mean that we are halting support for The Division. We have two updates on the horizon, with more content and features for our players:
<*>Update 1.8.1—launching in April with Legendary modes for Amherst’s apartment and Grand Central Station, the Xbox One X patch (4k rendering, improved reflections/shadows/detail), new Classified acquisition rates, a new Global Event: Blackout followed by new Global Event: Onslaught in May.
<*>Update 1.8.2—launching in June with two more Legendary mission modes, the rotation of monthly Global Events, and the new Shields campaign in which completing achievements in The Division grants special rewards in The Division 2.

We are also launching a two-week PTS tomorrow, March 9th for PC only. Update 1.8.1 features will be available for testing.
Remember that more information about Division 2 will be available at E3 in June. While we are excited for the sequel, support will continue on The Division as usual!
Do not forget that The Global Events are still on rotation throughout the month of March for our anniversary. Global Event: Assault is live now!
A huge thank you to everyone who plays The Division, and we are very much looking forward to the future!

THE DIVISION - TWO YEARS IN NUMBERS
Agents!
It has been quite a journey since The Division’s launch on March 8, 2016. We have introduced three major expansions alongside streams of free content updates for our players with one goal in mind—to deliver a truly unique and memorable open world-RPG experience. We are approaching The Division’s second birthday, and we want to recap the adventure in numbers (there’s a bunch of them)!
We are proud to say that over 20 million players have played The Division since launch, with 500,000 of those players spending over 400 hours in-game. It is true that we have the most dedicated fans who spend so much of their time in Manhattan.
The community has ensured that Rogue Agents need to tread carefully in the Dark Zone, as 549,939,300 Rogues have been brought to justice since Day One. That is not the entire picture, though, as 161,000 Agents die every hour in the Dark Zone on average. The Rogues and native NPCs surely have answered back with their own agendas.
Over the last two years, 66 billion NPCs were killed (the most notable being Alex). While Alex was being “got”, Ramos was sitting helplessly in Lexington Event Center. Players have rescued Sgt. Ramos a total of 55 million times (he is very grateful).
Players have ventured beneath the surface into the Underground 160 million times, successfully clearing out the sewers of New York 69 million times. Agents have not put up such a strong fight against the notorious blizzard that fans over the city, as only 16% of all Survival runs have proven successful. Better bundle up, Agents!
A special shout-out goes out to a PS4 Agent in particular who has completed 7,768 waves of Resistance since its release in December 2017. That is an average of 100 waves per day! Faye Lau could not be more proud.
Over the past three months, players have spent an average of three hours per day in New York City, and we could not ask for anything more. The Division has evolved over the last two years and will continue to do so as we strive to deliver the best experience possible to our players. A huge thank you to everyone for the journey and remember, it does not end here.

To recap our journey since launch, we also want to share some statistics with everyone!
Over 20 million players have played The Division since March 2016, with 500,000 of those players spending over 400 hours in-game! Since launch, 66 billion NPCs have been killed and Lexington was completed 55 million times (thanks in-part to the Global Events). In two years, 550 million Rogue Agents have been killed in the Dark Zone. One PS4 player has completed 7,768 waves in Resistance since the launch of Resistance. To put it into perspective, that is an average of 100 waves a day! Underground was visited 160 million times and cleared 69 million times. Survival, on the other hand, only has a 16% success rate!
To close today’s State of the Game, there was a community creation shared with us relating to last week’s announcement of Classified drop rate changes. Reddit user Bob Miggle re-imagined Game Designer James Norris from Ubisoft Leamington sprinkling (not showering) Classifieds across the game. We absolutely love this.
Remember that the Global Events are re-running during the month of March during the weekends. To qualify for Twitch drops, don’t forget to link your Ubisoft and Twitch accounts together and watch some of our Community Team streams!
The upcoming Global Event changes are not implemented into the game just yet. These are still under development and will be implemented as soon as possible.

STATE OF THE GAME: FEBRUARY 8TH, 2018
Agents, incoming State of the Game transmission:
During the last State of the Game,Community Developers Petter Mårtensson and Yannick Banchereau sat down to showcase creations from the community!
Petter ran a solo show this week with a quick update on maintenance/general information and more community highlights. Creative Director Terry Spier and Lead Game Designer Keith Evans from Red Storm Entertainment joined in for a discussion on the status of the Dark Zone.
We had an emergency maintenance on Tuesday, February 6th that resolved the following issues:
Fixed an issue involving the Classified AlphaBridge gear-set.
Fixed a UI issue in which gear optimizations may reset between sessions.
The larger size of the patch is due to data having to be overwritten. No stealth changes were made in the maintenance.
We recognize a portion of our community discussing Cronus Max, and we want to reassure everyone that we are not ignoring the issue. We recognize it as a problem, but it gets complicated as it involves other parties. We kindly ask for your patience.
Invites to a marketing study have been circulating. These are conducted on a regular basis and do not have a direct correlation to development and production on our side.
We are still examining methods to increase the ways in which players acquire Classified gear. While increasing drop rates is an easy solution, we want to offer more for players across the board. We will share improvements as soon as we have them.
During the last Global Event, we shared a value for the total number of players who completed all the Ambush Commendations. Unfortunately, this number was incorrect so we apologize for the error!
Terry and Keith believe Rogue 2.0 has made a positive impact on the Dark Zone. Prior to Update 1.8, the PVE in the DZ was being marginalized. This was something we wanted to change as the DZ is a PVEVP zone. Keeping an initial period of adaption in mind, the number of players killed by Rogues is now increasing with 1.8 with DZ engagement on the increase as well. The grind for gear has more or less been done for many players, and we are seeing more PVP activity as a result.
There are some community highlights to showcase in the stream this week. The first comes from @RRV_Design with a vintage neon Division logo. We appreciate the work!
@ccat1986 and @alexacutioner have created a storefront where Division Agents can accessorize. How does everyone feel about “Agents Gone Vogue”?
Lastly, we have a LMB starter kit coming from @Vohlos. Be sure to share the final cosplay with us and do not forget to tag #AgentHighlights!
The Xbox One X patch is coming, but there is still no news on the matter. As always, we will let everyone know as soon as we have more.
As a reminder, we are looking at ways for players to access more Classified gear. We do not have a timeline to share, but we can say that players will definitely see improvements in completing 6-piece once the changes are implemented.
As always, be sure to join us over on the Official Forumsor on the community Reddit if you’re looking for a place to discuss all things related to The Division.
Until next time!

STATE OF THE GAME: FEBRUARY 1ST, 2018
Agents, incoming State of the Game transmission:
During the last State of the Game, Community Developers Petter Mårtensson and Yannick Banchereau highlighted community content and gave a quick update on the ongoing Global Event, Ambush.
This week, Petter and Yannick are back to discuss classified gear drop rates, community content and a kitten that has gone rogue.
Today’s maintenance completed on schedule and performed its normal duties.
The fourth Global Event titled Ambush is now over. We hope that you enjoyed the event and got your hands on some neat upgrades for your agent!
Now that all Classified Gear sets have been introduced, we are looking at the possibility of increasing the Classified Gear drop rate in a few specific locations. In addition, we are also looking at other solutions with the aim to increase their overall availability to the players. We will share further details on this topic as soon as possible.
This week our customer support saw a case of a rogue kitten. A poor agent had his kitten sit on his keyboard prompting the game to delete his character. The resulting support ticket had this picture attached with the caption “The little prick doesn’t even know what he’s done”. It sure looks guilty to me!
STATS WITH YANNICK
Yannick returns this week with some interesting figures from the recently concluded Global Event.
A genuinely impressive 19.9 billion Global Event credits were earned during the past week, with 13.3 million Superior Ambush caches opened.
Still hungry for more Global Event figures from Yannick? Make sure to check out the VoD for the rest.
Fan Art
Have you ever imagined what State of the Game would taste like in a can? Michael Batenburg rendered a State of the Game beverage for everyone to enjoy. We'll take a few, Agent.
Community member Cheshire Cat created a series of movie posters for ‘A Christmas Miracle’, a motion picture starring our very own Community Developers Petter Mårtensson and Yannick Banchereau. What we want to know is, when’s the premiere?
Thanks for the laugh, agent!
Cosplay
This week we would like to showcase another great cosplayer in the ranks of The Division. Agent Akimura is fighting against the elements with only his sidearm to protect against the dangers of the city. We hope that he managed to gear up and made it to an extraction point in time. We cannot afford to lose any more agents in the blizzard if we are to take the city back.
Video Content
Let’s wrap up this week’s community content with a fan music video. OGSwagPanda put together this brilliant music video titled ”Lawless”. Top notch editing, agent!
As a reminder, we also feature community content monthly in our Agent Highlights articles! If you have content you would like to share, please tweet your creations with the hashtag #AgentHighlights. A huge thanks to everyone who submits!
We do not have any news regarding future updates at this time and there are currently no concrete plans for balance changes. We are however actively monitoring your balancing feedback and suggestions.
The community has already provided a lot of valuable feedback and we appreciate your input greatly. Thanks to all who have provided feedback thus far and if you haven’t you are more than welcome to head over to the Official Forums and let us know your thoughts.
As soon as we have more news to share, we will let you know. Stay tuned to future State of the Game streams for more information going forward. Until then, see you on the streets of New York.
As always, be sure to join us over on the Official Forums or on the community Reddit if you’re looking for a place to discuss all things related to The Division.
