This year marks the 10th anniversary of Total War: WARHAMMER, and we want to begin by thanking you for being part of this journey. Whether you’ve been with us since the start or joined along the way, your support, feedback, and passion for the series mean a great deal to us.

Right now, the team are hard at work on a variety of content that’s going to inject some exciting new experiences into the game. The big addition being Lords of the End Times, which arrives later this summer armed with four new Legendary Lords including the Great Necromancer himself, Nagash. Alongside this, we’ll also have Update 9.0 which includes the long-awaited Vampire Counts update, and Neferata as the free Legendary Lord. We’re still on track for release this later this summer and look forward to sharing more with you closer to the time.

Before all that, though, we have something special you’ll be able to experience first: our very first Character Pack. To mark the occasion, we’ve worked closely with Games Workshop to introduce an entirely new character to Warhammer lore - Bhashiva, the Desert Tigress, White Tiger of Shang Yang - accompanied by a deadly host of mercenary Tiger Warrior units.

We’ve been discussing bringing her to life for quite some time, so we’re thrilled to finally share her with you. She represents another step into the mysteries of Grand Cathay, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to debut a brand‑new aspect of the setting.

Since Bhashiva and the Tiger Warriors are fresh additions not just to the game but to the entire tabletop setting, today’s blog is primarily about giving you a small first look at who the White Tiger is, how she fights, as well as spotlighting one of the mercenaries who will be supporting her armies. Think of this as your introduction, but with more in‑depth info coming closer to release.

Patch 7.1 Live Now

Hotfix 7.0.3 Now Live for All Players

Thanks to everyone who checked out the Beta and shared their feedback and bug reports over the holidays and in these first weeks of January.[/p][p align="start"]We’ve added a number of additional fixes to the full release which are listed below, as well as in their respective categories in the full release notes.[/p][p align="start"][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue introduced in the 7.0.3 Beta where the option to Subjugate a faction would sometimes not appear after defeating them.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed issues with Elspeth’s Gunnery School missions and progression issues.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Norscan Marauding actions would incorrectly have a 5 turn cooldown.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Pleasurable Acts for N'kari and The Masque would incorrectly having a 10 turn cooldown.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed broken Encampment stance for Dragonship horde armies (Aislinn unaffected).[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue so that the Nemesis Crown dilemma should no longer display a placeholder image.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where you could only select 1 spell after resetting skill points for Kairos Fateweaver.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Kairos couldn’t change spells in Fragments of Sorcery once confederated.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Multiplayer would crash if any player was playing as Kairos.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed performance issues when using Chinese Text language on high UI Scale (160% to 200%) on 4K Resolution.[/p][p][/p]

Total War - Thank You For Your Support In 2025



​Hello friends,

Here we are again; the end of another year and a moment to reflect.

Several letters ago I committed myself and the franchise to being more open and transparent (mixed success based on some feedback I see), and this is a chance for me to talk about both our successes, and failures.

Thank you so much for your support over the years be it through praise or criticism. We do read the feedback, take it to heart, sometimes beat ourselves up about how dumb we did a thing, and then plan how we make things better.

2025 has been a landmark year for the Total War franchise. We celebrated 25 incredible years of the franchise and marked the occasion by announcing three new projects I’ve been excited about since I came to CA. We also shared a first look at Warcore, the brand-new Total War game engine (to be fair it’s built on top of the last one so a little Ship of Theseus here), and spoke about bringing our new games to console (I'll talk more about that later).

We revealed the worlds’ worst kept secret, we’re making a game in one of my favorite universes, Warhammer 40,000. At the same time, we look to our past, both Total War’s and humanity’s, to set our sights on the Middle Ages with MEDIEVAL III (now? Soon?). I’ll write more on why we made the call to announce it. And finally, we are not finished with Total War Warhammer III as we revealed Lords of the End Times. It’s my hope that we talked about at least one setting that you're excited for.

Our Anniversary Showcase was the first event like this we’ve ever done; and a longstanding ambition for us.

We know we didn’t get everything perfect in this plan, but aligning three projects at very different stages in their development cycle is challenging. There’s plenty of feedback we’ll take on board for next time, and that’s exactly how it should be. In retrospect, I wish we’d also spent time celebrating our players and the mods across all our games – but that’s something we’ll explore in the future.

For a first attempt, I couldn’t be happier for the teams who pulled this off and gave you a genuine glimpse into the projects we’ve eagerly been building. I’m proud of what we did and happy for what we learned. Those in front of the camera are lifelong Total War fans, and while exciting, it’s also incredibly nerve wracking talking publicly about the things you’re working on – I'm hugely proud of them all. It was an enormously complex orchestration of presenting the showcase internationally, launching a DLC, and releasing Immortal Empires to WH1 and 2 players.

Over half a million people tuned in, and seeing that mix of familiar faces, players coming back after years away, and people discovering Total War for the very first time was awesome. It meant a lot to the team, and moments like that remind us why we choose to do this for a living.

In the future, we want to deliver more of these moments. Could a Total War-con work? Would you come? Regardless, future events might not all look the same, but each will show what Total War is up to across its many projects and where it’s going.

Total War: WARHAMMER III - Hotfix 7.0.3 BETA

We’ve just rolled out Hotfix 7.0.3 as an opt-in Beta for Total War: WARHAMMER III, giving you the chance to get an early look at the myriad tweaks and fixes we’ve been working on in the wake of 7.0 and Hotfixes 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 before our teams sign off for a well-deserved festive break.

You can find full instructions on how to opt-in to a Beta on Steam here. The Beta you need to select from the dropdown menu is 'beta_hotfix_703 - BETA Hotfix 7.0.3'.

Once we’re back, fully stuffed and well-rested (hopefully), we’ll be taking a look at any feedback raised from the Beta and set to work on getting 7.0.3 ready for a full release. Unlike in the past when we’ve used the Beta branch to deliver Hotfixes, we are keen to ensure that we do take on board your feedback around the changes and fixes we’ve implemented. This does mean that 7.0.3 will only release once we’re happy with its content, so please expect this to remain on the Beta branch until we reach that point.

Whilst our teams will be monitoring for any unexpected behaviours, we expect that this is our final release of 2025. We want to give our sincere thanks to everyone who has helped by giving feedback, pointing out errors and raising bug reports. All of this has helped us to provide the changes and improvements you wanted to see this year, and we hugely appreciate your passion and enthusiasm!

Proving Grounds: Siege Beta NOW LIVE

How to download the Beta branch

  1. [p]Open your Steam client and go to your Library.[/p]
  2. [p]Right-click on Total War: WARHAMMER III and select 'Properties'.[/p]
  3. [p]Navigate to the 'Betas' tab.[/p]
  4. [p]In the drop-down menu, select 'proving_grounds - Siege Beta'.[/p]
  5. [p]Steam will then download the necessary files and begin the patching process to install the Beta.[/p]
[p][/p][p]The download is relatively small, but Steam will need to patch around 330 MB of game data in order to install the Hotfix. Proving Grounds: Siege Beta

We want to make sure we’re making valuable, meaningful changes to the game and your feedback is crucial to us achieving this - we won’t roll out any changes to the base game until we’re totally happy with the response from you, the players![/p][p] [/p][p]This round of testing will last for 2 weeks from the 24th of July to the 7th of August.
