This update adds new content to both Story Mode and Roguelike Mode!
★ Story Mode ★
● New Overloading mechanic: the hero is finally capable of bringing spell cards and items past her maximum cost!
(Overloading is limited to 2 points. The more overloaded the hero is, the higher the chance of her taking twice the damage when hit!) (This feature is only available after successfully defeating the Nightmare Miko)
● Increased the number of Item slots and Badge slots, allowing for more varied builds and to leverage the new overloading mechanic.
(The fifth item slot is only available after successfully defeating the Nightmare Miko)
★ Roguelite Mode ★
● Added Perfumes: you can sink your Purple Coins into temporary buffs!
(In the Roguelite lobby, you can spend Purple Coins to obtain various buffs that last for one run)
● New Contract Booth amenity: take on curses in exchange for powerful buffs. Do you dare face the challenge?
(During the course of an adventure, the hero will encounter dark purple Contract Booths where she can willingly take on curses in exchange for a powerful buff that lasts for one adventure)
Aside from what's listed above, we've also made major improvements to many aspects of the game which you're welcome to check out!

We have one more piece of good news:
Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy will be released on Nintendo Switch in 2026!
(Switch 1 will get priority. We have plans to release physical copies, too) (It's uncertain whether or not we'll get it onto the Switch 2, but we'll try to make it happen)
Due to restrictions on the platform, our merchandise is only available in the following regions: Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. We've tried many things, but ultimately couldn't find a way to sell them to other regions. We're very sorry if you feel disappointed! (In the future, we'll try selling them on other platforms so that it's available to everyone)

==== Improvements ==== ● Fixed the game loading for too long. The game should load a lot faster now. ● Fixed Koishi's icon being too big in the load save screen. ● Improved some UI navigation logic to avoid confusion after getting used to the layout.
==== Adjustments ==== ● Slightly decreased Frozen Rose's duration; slightly increased the damage dealt when an enemy collides with the flowers. ● Slightly decreased the score required to top the leaderboard in Kappa Rocket. ● In Hero Mode, the Frenzy effect for Frozen Rose has been changed to a chance to regain uses.

★The Show Is About To Begin!★
The wait is over! Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy's very first combat-oriented DLC—Rose Idol—is slated for release on April 3!
We're in the final stages of development for DLC1, and any remaining time will be used to polish/improve the game. Please be patient for a little bit longer! (We're working on it! Promise!)
DLC1 will be priced at 2.49 USD and includes the following content:
A much anticipated character
Two exhilarating battles
Three exquisite songs
Four exciting spell cards and items
The soundtrack for this DLC will be as its own separate OST, priced at 1.99 USD.
This OST contains 15 new songs. A lot of effort has been put into making these songs sound the best they can, so if you're interested in idols, remember to pick up the OST!
Additionally, unlike the songs from the base game, this OST will include a Seamless Version containing all the songs in DLC1 (a 21 minutes long song), giving you the true live concert experience! If that sounds like something you're interesting in, please give it a listen!
April 3 also happens to be the one year anniversary of Hero of Ice Fairy's full release, so we would like to thank everyone for their continued support of HoIF!

This update contains the following fixes and adjustments:
Hero Mode Improvements
Exiting and reentering a boss battle will now bring you back to the phase you exited at, and your life, courage and spell card uses will remain the way before you exited.
Improved the way to enter the secret stage, so it's now clearer and less prone to misinterpretation.
The wooden shrine will now appear on every exclusion zone floor after completing Hero Mode once.
Slightly buffed the effect of the Four-Leaf Clover.
Fixes
Fixed Hero Mode songs not unlocking on the phonograph.
Fixed a bug where the Energy Drink would display the incorrect number.
Fixed the giant robot in Operation Rabbit Hole appearing at the wrong location.
Fixed a bug in the Oni Sake challenge stage where objects orbiting the player would dispel the bouncing fireballs released on the boss's second phase.
Fixed a bug in the main menu where the wrong selection would be highlighted.
Major Update! Brand-New BOSS Unleashed!

It's been a long time coming, but the new free update of Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy's Rogue-lite Mode is now available! The Hero of Ice will encounter ONE new bosses in Rogue-lite Mode！
This boss is the Secret BOSS in Rogue-lite Mode. Everyone can try figuring out how to unlock this secret boss while playing!

We've added more than FIVE new items for Rogue-lite Mode, allowing you to try out different builds and synergies during the course of your adventure!
This update has optimized the gameplay of Rogue-lite Mode and introduced a new Elevator Panel. Now, riding the elevator in Hero Mode lets you pick from two options to decide what amenities await on the next floor!

This update contains the following fixes and adjustments:
This update adds 4 brand new amenities:
First-Aid Station: gives a random number of HP shards.
Locked Chest: a chest that requires a special key to open. Opening it gives an item.
Coin Chest: a chest that requires 4 Purple Coins to open. Opening it gives an item.
Luck Chest: a chest that requires 5 Gold Coins per attempt. If you win a prize, you get an item.
These new amenities will randomly appear on the right-most area of each safe floor!
Other additions
⑨ new items for Hero Mode：Anchor, Ibaraki Box Green Bunny Pill, Bunny Medkit, Ice, Maneki-Neko's Bell, Red Stone Cherry、Cursed Ribbon & Mysterious Key.
Added the spell card "Dream Diary" from the main story into Hero Mode.
When entering Hero Mode from the main menu, a popup will now ask the player if they want to continue their last adventure if it is not yet completed.
Improvements
Improved the user experience of the item recycling screen and adjusted the weight of some amenities' chances to appear.
In Hero Mode, if the player already has certain classes of items, other items of the same class will have a slightly higher chance of appearing (does not always appear)
In Hero Mode, the Recycling Station can now recycle two items.
In Hero Mode, the Bunny Bank's minimum deposit has been lowered from 50 coins to 30 coins. Its point redemption requirement has also been lowered from 40 points to 30 points. Redeeming points also now adds 20 Bunny Coins into your account free of charge.

Fixed some minor stability issues.

We've compiled the English version of the previous two patch notes together so you don't miss out on the content of two updates!
Additions
Added a new Hero Mode exclusive item: Celestial's Peach.
Added opening to Hero Mode (only one section has been added. Later sections will be added in subsequent updates).
Added a popup to notify the player when two conflicting challenges are selected.
Added tutorials for the Bunny Shop, Backpack Upgrades and Difficulty Selection in Hero Mode.
Added a yellow outline to Amenities. Players can now clearly see which items are interactable in the hotel.
Improvements
Improved survival phases in boss battles. The length of all survival phases in boss battles have been decreased by 30%~40%.
Improved the VFX of Bat Hairclip and Unstable Launcher: their projectiles will no longer overlap.
Restricted where Fatal Laser and Pursuing Spirit can show up in Hero Mode, preventing stages from getting too difficult;
Increased the interaction delay when opening the shop in Hero Mode, preventing accidental purchases.
Improved the reward selection UI. Players can now clearly see which reward they've chosen.
Improved the effect of the Serving Cart. Interacting with it at max health will now give Bunny Coins instead of health.
Adjustments
Max health in Hero Mode has been increased from 9 to 18.
Frost Cannonball now triggers Mimi's and Magician's Broom's collision damage in Hero Mode.
Energy Drink has been revamped. It immediately raises courage level by one and increases uses of all spell cards in the backpack by one.
Lunatic Torch no longer makes you take an additional damage.
Slightly buffed Youkai Lantern, Gourmet's Hitaikakushi and Fireworks(Hero Mode only)
Sword of Hisou's rarity has been changed to "treasured" (the rarest) and its effect has been slightly increased.
Sake Sparrow's rarity has been changed to "normal" (the least rarest)
