New Features, Improvements Patch Update 2023.10.28
All content in the major update has been fully translated into English.
This update contains the following fixes and adjustments:
Fixes
[Fixed] A bug where the Shopkeeper's Glasses causes bosses to not be able to dash properly;
[Fixed] A bug where the Unstable Launcher would sometimes fire extra shots;
[Fixed] A bug where you could equip items exceeding the power limit via spamming;
[Fixed] A bug with the save screen selection effects;
Additions
[New] Players can now select a default song in the phonograph. The default song will play whenever the player returns to the train;
[New] Players can now click on the character illustrations in the catalog to view the full illustration;
Improvements
[Improvement] During battle, players can now enter the loadout configuration screen from the pause menu. Players no longer need to head back to the train to change their loadout;
[Improvement] Players can now toggle help mode on/off at any time in the pause menu.
[Improvement] Locked stages will now appear in the Navigation Terminal;
[Improvement] In the loadout configuration screen, a dialog will pop up whenever the player's power limit increases or when they unlock a new item slot.
[Improvement] After the player completes story stage 4, the conductor will remind players on what to do in order to continue the game.
Adjustments
Slightly decreased the difficulty of story stage 5, story stage 6, In Arrears and Unconventional News;
Absolute Zero — Slightly decreased full screen damage; slightly decreased cooldown time; courage cost lowered from 2 to 1.
Extreme Snowstorm — Massively decreased hailstone damage; slightly decreased cooldown time; courage cost lowered from 3 to 2.
Icy-Hakkero — Each's level's laser is now easier to differentiate.
Unstable Launcher — Massively increased damage; increased amount of missiles fired under different circumstances; effect can also be activated while using the shield.
Lucky Carrot — Slightly increased the chance of not losing courage levels when hit.

This major update is free for everyone! All players who already own the base game will receive all content in this update free of charge!
This major update contains the following new content:
New Stages
The adventure continues! Following in the Hero of Ice's footsteps, we've created 3 brand new stages with distinct styles, in which you will take on powerful new bosses!
Included in this update is also a special stagewith gameplay unlike any of the stages before.
New Battles
Every journey has its obstacles! The Hero of Ice will encounter 2 new bosses. They pack a punch, and they're both popular Touhou characters. Players will need to grasp even more combat techniques to stand a chance at defeating them!
Furthermore, the player will have to go up against the game's first ever giant boss.
New Items
Prepare for battle! The Hero of Ice will obtain 2 new spell cards and 6 new items. With these new tools in your arsenal, you'll be able to better take on the new challenges!

A new area in the Bunny Train the Bunny Lounge is now available.
The much-awaited feature of rebinding controller buttons is now live. You can now rebind controller buttons.
Minigames separate from the main story are now in development with a release planned for November.
Supporter Pack DLC
The supporter pack has also been updated. This update includes the following:
The 11 new OSTs added in this update.
The 12 new character artworks added in this update.
2 additional sketches.
Players who own the supporter pack DLC will receive all content in this DLC update for free.
Note: you only need to own the base game to access the base game's update. Likewise, you need to own the supporter pack DLC to access the supporter pack's update.
All players who have purchased the game can access the new content for FREE!!!
(Note: the playtest version will NOT include the English translation. Playtesting of the English translation will begin on October 12)
How to Access New Content
1. In your Steam library, right-click the game and click on "properties" in the dropdown menu. 2. Click on "Betas" in the left panel. 3. Simply select "test - Ocotober Update" and wait for it to download!

This update includes the following fixes and adjustments:
Fixes:
Fixed the issue where the loadout interface could not be scrolled properly.
Fixed the issue where restarting battles would affect the required number of unlocks for the assist mode.
Fixed the issue where the [CH No-Hit] could unlock even when passing the stage without defeating the boss but taking damage.
Fixed the issue where setting the right-click button as the spell card release key prevented closing the key configuration interface.
Fixed the issue where the interaction prompt UI at the bottom of the screen in the Bunny Train occasionally didn't display while moving.
Fixed the issue where, in battle stages, the prompt text for directly starting the battle didn't show.
Fixed the issue where, in battle stages, there was a chance of entering the post-battle scenario when the countdown timer of the final phase restarted upon reaching zero.
Fixed a few text errors in the English version.
Adjustments:
Reduced the required count of Defeat for unlocking the [Assist mode].
Reduced the required count of Defeat for upgrading the [Assist mode]. In other words, the [Assist mode] will be easier to unlock and upgrade.

18,000 Copies sold! English Version Coming Soon!
Since its release in February 25, our game—Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy—has managed to break 18k sales in just one month !
This comes as a big shock to us since it wildly surpassed our original expectations. Back in early 2021, I decided to make a no micro-dodging game out of spite since I was suffering from Touhou Hidden Star in Four Seasons's unique problem of not being able to properly see the bullets. I honestly never thought our game'd achieve such results two years down the line. It's thanks to everyone's continued support that we could get to this point.
Without everyone, we—and by extension Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy—wouldn't be where we are today, and for that we couldn't thank you enough!
English Version Coming Soon
Currently, we're dedicating our time to finishing the game's English version, with a release slated for April 12. If you're interested in helping us test the English version, please join our Discord server. The first round of testing will commence on the first week of April.
Furthermore, in April we'll also be releasing a feature to replay past story events as well as a mode for players who aren't great at action games, in addition to some new items and spell cards.
We understand that there are high expectations for what comes next in the game, and we promise we'll do our best to give everyone the full Touhou Hero of Ice Fairy experience!
