Before anything else, thank you so much to all those knights who entered the dungeon at the Knight's Trial! It's been really heartwarming to receive so much support from the community, but even most importantly, we've received lots of feedback too!
So we've heard that feedback, and implemented as much as we could in the game!
MAJOR CHANGES ːsteamthisː We've added difficulty levels! Easy mode will be perfect for those who just want to enjoy a casual experience in the dungeon, and know the princesses! Medium is thought for those that want a challenging experience but haven't played before, or that don't have experience with platformers or roguelites. And Hard mode is intended for experienced players that look for a true challenge, as the game was originally meant to be!
ːsteamthisː Right now the gameplay of the knights should feel much more swift, with faster transitions between animations and an increased responsivity from the player input!
ːsteamthisː Keybinding! If you didn't find the default set of controls comfortable, now you can make your own from the Options menu!
ːsteamthisː You can change between princesses at the Entry Hall. You didn't feel ready to rescue a certain princess? Don't worry, ask out another one to enter the dungeon!
MINOR CHANGES - Now jumps interrupt basic attacks! - Increased the length of some princesses' power - Nerfed the Mimic Crab's damage - Given a different colour for each princess crown in the HUD - Given more space between princess and knight - Fixed some issues when using the Kobold power during the tutorial - Added options for motion blur and FPS settings - Each boss specific mechanic changes according to the difficulty level! - And many details more!
If you already played Tower Princess alpha or beta, and felt it needed any of these things, we're waiting for your feedback to keep improving the game! It's really great to be able to push Tower Princess even further thanks to the community!
Upgrade System + Hidden Treasures!
Greetings friendly folks!
Beating the dungeon and rescuing the princess (or prince) of your dreams might be a difficult feat, especially if it's your first time at the Dragon's Castle. But fear not, fellow knights, as we have some valuable tips to learn how to improve your skills and find some decent loot!
The Upgrade System
The upgrade system lets you improve your stats and unlock some skills depending on your gameplay.
Initially it will be minimal, but it will expand more once you free the Kobold Shopkeeper and get the Bureaucrat Leader to come to the Entry Hall.
There are four main elements to upgrade:
Armour: Represents the health of the incoming knights. It levels up using healing items! This one is managed by the Kobold Shopkeeper even if he's jailed.
Sword: It measures the damage and special abilities when using a knight with a broad sword. You can level this stat by defeating enemies with the sword! Managed by the Kobold Shopkeeper at his weapon workshop.
Musket: Mostly the same as the previous one, but with a musket!
Map: Improving the map lets you see the location of certain rooms before exploring them. Exploring new rooms raises this stat. This is the only one managed by the Bureaucrat Leader.
To buy these upgrades you will need two things!
Tokens: You earn these by achieving certain milestones in the dungeon, such as rescuing princesses, opening chests or defeating bosses. These are the points you actually spend to buy upgrades.
Skill Level!: Each one of those elements has its own level, which increases separately. You can't spend more tokens than the level you have in the skill. Remember that some upgrades also require a minimum level to be bought!
Getting these upgrades can increase the damage or the health of your knights, but it can also unlock two special abilities for each weapon!
Dash Attack: Stabs your enemies with your sword from distance, getting you directly into battle! It can be upgraded to even stun the enemies hit!
Spin Attack: That old technique of swinging your sword all around like a maniac. A highly offensive stance with low mobility, though that can be improved by upgrading it!
Explosive Shot: Quite a self-explicative name, isn't it? If upgraded it can even reload your musket each time you use it!
Shotgun Shot: Shoots your musket with a powerful cone attack, kicking you back, quickly pushing distance between you and the danger!
Hidden Treasures!
You can be a skilful knight, but without the proper loot, you will still be vulnerable against the dungeon's toughest challenges! You can find useful trinkets (and even gifts for your beloved one) hidden among the dungeon's destructible furniture, or in possession of some enemies. But if you want to increase your chances of finding something really useful, you'll have to look for the huge treasure rooms in each area!
But the dungeon is too big to only have two treasures! If you have a keen eye, you may find some illusory walls that hide more chests that may have something useful! These chests won't have the same chances to have a high-tier item as one of the Treasure Rooms, but any help is welcome when it comes to surviving in the dungeon!
You may find some of these spots a bit erratic or hard to find, but there's someone that can help you with this! It is said that there's a certain princess with a keen eye for riches and shiny things that can point out these spots, only to the worthy suitors she can trust!
We hope you've found this useful! Being a knight is hard, but it's just a matter of practice to find all the secrets hidden out there!

WELCOME TO THE DRAGON’S CASTLE, HUMBLE KNIGHT!
Greetings friendly folks!
These last weeks we’ve seen many potential knights preparing themselves to enter the dungeon, and asking about what kind of challenges and inhabitants lure deep within it. So we’ve thought it would be an excellent idea to make a series of updates, sharing some info about the princesses and the guardians that keep them captive there, as well as about some game mechanics that will help our knights to survive (and even beat) the dungeon!
Let’s start with the most basic thing… what the hell has happened here?
Tower Princess takes place in a Far Far Away Land, where lots of different fairy tale creatures lived. This place was divided into an infinity of kingdoms, each one with its own folk and culture. However, due to all the differences that separated them, and the desire of ruling over all the land, there was an Endless War that nobody seemed able to win.
One day, like any other, a mysterious castle appeared somewhere in this Far Far Away Land. From this ominous castle aroused a mighty fire-breathing dragon, who kidnapped the princes and princesses of every known kingdom, and ate any suitor that tried to stop it.
For the first time in a long time, all the rulers put aside their differences, signing a truce. For the royal lineage was magical, and it was of the utmost importance to keep it.
Every kingdom desired to break the truce once its royal heir was rescued, so none of them had the courage to send their armies to the Dragon's Castle. Instead, they announced everywhere a call for wandering knights. They offered a place in the royalty to anyone who rescues their heir!
Any knight with theoric knowledge about rescuing princesses knew that it wasn’t healthy to face a dragon that roasted heroes as a hobby. But the promise of greatness, and maybe true love, attracted lots of humdrum wandering knights eager to try their luck.
Shortly after there was an endless queue of knights and knightesses at the gates of the Dragon’s Domains, where they patiently waited their turn to enter. And here’s where you take place, as one of those random knights who await to enter the dungeon, to rescue a royal heir, defeat the Evil Dragon, and become a hero in its own right!

This demo includes much of the first area of the game, the Dragon Castle! This includes the first boss, The Pigomancer, who is waiting behind the stoves of the hottest kitchen in the entire kingdom to prevent you from rescuing the princess!
Three different princesses to rescue, a bad-tempered pyromancer (with such a taste for cuisine), and lots of random knights ready to storm a randomly generated castle! Sounds cool for a demo, right? c:
Tower Princess is almost fully developed, so even if you've played previous ones, this will give you an even closer experience to the full game!
