Meet the Tower Wars AI (Part 1)
Listen up, troops! With the single player AI update coming in 2 short weeks, let's meet some of the fiercely devoted AI opponents that you'll be able to face off against! Well, these lower ranked opponents might not be considered exactly fierce...but they have heart.

The Laughable Menace - You've got to start somewhere, right? Not a tough opponent to overcome, but he sure does try! Keep your chin up, fellow!

Dr. Huggins's Tussle Barrel - Now we're moving in the right direction! This guy knows the game, but is likely no match for the experienced Tower Wars player! He may give the newer troops a run for their money though!

Season 1 End - September 13th!! (Details inside)
The end of Season 1 is just around the corner! The Season 1 Leaderboard will close at 12pm PST on Friday, September 13th! Play ranked 1v1 games and climb the leaderboard into the TOP 100 for prizes! Then stay tuned for an awesome single player AI update, and practice up on robotic opponents before the start of Season 2!

As Season 1 continues to heat up, update v.1.111 addresses two bugs regarding player scores. Change list for the update is listed below.

Feature changes:
<*>Player Scores are no longer being pulled from Steam. We are now storing Player Scores within our own database to allow for quicker, more accurate reporting. Note: Win - Loss records are still maintained within Steam.


Bug Fixes:
<*>Fixed Ctrl+Alt+Del Player Score bug
<*>Fixed bug where exiting before match started would sometimes not update player score.

TW Game Servers down for Maintanence (3:45PM PST - July 2)
We will be taking down the servers at 3:45PM PST to prepare for update 1.111. Baring any setbacks, the servers should only be down for a short time. Check the forums for more information once the update is live.

Tower Wars Update (v.1.110) Official Season 1 Start!!
INTRODUCING ALL-NEW SEASON PLAY!

Today marks the start of Tower Wars Season 1!! Both Season Play and participation is really simple and it doesn't require any special sign-ups or setup. All you need to do is play the game! From here on out, any time you play a Ranked game, it will count toward the current season! Easy! The more you play, the more you have a chance to climb the Season Leaderboard! And there are 100 prizes to claim, including 3D-Printed Character Trophies and T-Shirts for the top finishers!

Of course, there is still a full suite of options for unranked and custom game setups as well, so no pressure!

Season 1 will run for approximately 90 days! We will finalize the end date and reveal prize designs soon, so stay tuned!

Patch change list aka "Shiny New Stuff"

  • Season 1 official start! Ranked games are 1 vs 1.
  • Season Play wiki. For all the details check out the wiki page (http://wiki.towerwarsgame.com/index.php?title=Season_Play) OR in-game by navigating to PLAY > RANKED > SEASON INFO.
  • Season Play Leaderboard (http://leaderboards.towerwarsgame.com/).
  • (In-game) Season Play Leaderboard. Access the Tower Wars Season Leadersboards by clicking on the new Season Play info box at the top of the Main Menu screen OR by navigating the game menu; PLAY > RANKED > VIEW RANKINGS.
  • Six new Achievements. (One for pre-Season Play ranking and five for Season Play).
  • 2's and 3's matches are now only playable via Unranked and will not modify your Player Score.


Bug Fixes:
<*>Added a Penalty for queue dodging.
<*>Fixed bugs with Lava Mines level.

Error 7 and Lava you Deeply
Error 7 and Lava you Deeply
It was reported last week that players are having issues getting games on the new Lava you Deeply map. We monitored the servers over the weekend and looked into the reasons why that map was causing an issue. We discovered that players who had previously downloaded Lava you Deeply as a mod were seeing errors when trying to play with players who had not downloaded it as a mod. This is due to files which are shared across the mod version and the official version not being removed or replaced correctly. The game in these cases was exiting due to incorrect files.

There is a fix to correct this which is detailed below:

1). Right click and choose properties on Tower Wars in your Steam library list
2). Click on the 3rd tab named LOCAL FILES
3). Click on the button named "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..."

Once the game has run through and verified all of its files you might have several that will need to be re-downloaded. It should automatically download those files once the check is complete. Note: Once the process has been completed I would suggest restarting Steam.

Once Steam has been restarted you should be able to play the Lava Mines level without any crashes. There is a chance that you might get the Error 7 still if your opponent has not yet run the integrity check and fixed their files though.

If you have done all of the steps listed above and are still having issues when playing against players known to have the corrected files for Lava you Deeply, please post in the thread linked below to let us know.

Tower Wars Update - New Official Map!!
Due to popular request, we have now added Lava you Deeply to the official ranked map group!! Lava you Deeply can now be played via Quickplay or by choosing Lava you Deeply as a preferred map in the Match Setup screen.
