Brainmelter Deluxe goes mobile

Hi guys, just a quick note to let you know that I'm working on a version of Brainmelter Deluxe for Android. If this sounds like something that may be of interest to you can pre-register here, or stop by the Discord to register for the upcoming closed beta.

P.S. iPhone/iPad users, fear not! If the Android release goes well, an iOS version is not far behind.

Introducing: Brainmelter Deluxe!

Adam from Cosmocat here. I'm happy to announce our newest game, Brainmelter Deluxe!

Brainmelter Deluxe is a challenging, reflex-based platform game with a (literal) twist: the level rotates 90 degrees when you jump.

Game Features

🧠 procedurally generated levels mean no two runs are exactly the same
🧠 beautifully hand illustrated cutscenes
🧠 over-the-top physics-based deaths
🧠 lush retro-inspired graphics, contemporized with modern dynamic lighting and particle effects
🧠 a silky smooth funk and instrumental hip-hop soundtrack to help ease your saltiness

Who is this game for?

Brainmelter Deluxe's randomized levels and permadeath system mean it's best suited to those looking for a challenging experience; one which requires mastery of the mechanic, and lightning-fast reflexes.

We hope you like it!

Hello worlds

Hey guys, Adam from Cosmocat here. I'm excited to announce our newest game: Cosmic Ray!

Cosmic Ray is a game about exploring space in search of hospitable planets for colonization. It's pretty easy to pick up--dare I say casual--and features fairly short rounds, so we think it's a good option for killing a few minutes.

Despite the simplicity we try to keep things challenging and interesting with permadeath, randomized galaxies, ship upgrades and alien artifacts to be found with each run.

We're hoping to launch next month. In the meantime, feel free to follow along with the progress on our devlog.

Last but not least, we have a Discord! Stop in and say hello, learn more about our previous games, and our upcoming closed beta for Cosmic Ray.

Early Access news, visual updates

Hey all, I just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know what we've been up to!

The closed beta went well and helped us validate that we're on the right track, but we still have a long way to go. Our immediate goal is to prepare a new trailer and screenshots for Early Access, so we've been working away at refining the visuals. Once we have the new marketing material ready we'll be doing a big push before launching in Early Access. In the meantime, be sure to follow our devlog to stay up to date, or stop by our Discord and say hello!

Here's a look at how things have been progressing, including a sneak peek at one of the new areas we're working on:

Closed beta registration

Hey guys, we're excited to announce that we're starting registration for the closed beta! If you're interested, please complete this short form.

A few things to note:

  • Closed beta is for players only, not press. We're using this is an opportunity to gather initial feedback, not publicize the game.
  • You will receive a free Steam key in exchange for your time, on the condition that you complete a short post-play survey.
  • We have a limited number of spots, so first come first served. There's an optional comments field in the form that we recommend filing out to ensure your spot.

The exact start date for the closed beta is TBD but we're hoping for within a month or so. Any questions? Leave a comment here.

Release plans

Hey guys, Adam here from the Undermine team with some news about our plans for release.

Firstly, to those who have wishlisted or followed the game: thank you! This means a lot to us, as it helps us gauge interest and ensures we have an audience for the game upon release.

With respect to release, our plan is to run an Early Access campaign for approximately 6 months, starting within the next month or so. As with our previous game (Operation Hardcore), we hope to use community engagement to refine and evolve the experience; early adopters will be rewarded with the ability to help influence the direction. While we realize there's some stigma attached to Early Access, those who purchased Operation Hardcore during EA will understand our commitment to ensuring an engaging and stable experience right from the start, and to seeing our projects through to full release.

Some examples of things we'll be putting to a vote/gathering feedback on:

  • should we add an interactive intro scene, or a cinematic one?
  • do players want more combat, or more stealth?
  • should we add more variation in the look of the environments/levels, or in the gameplay?

If you're interested in following along with our progress, our DevLog is a good place to start. We've also started a Discord server; feel free to stop in and say hello, ask us questions, make suggestions, etc.

Thanks again,
Adam/Undermine team
