Small Game Update - 1.02.5

Hello all,

Just uploaded a small update to address a few issues.

- The Twisting Hall in the Dungeon Area.

There had been some reports of it being black after a certain point in the hall making it impossible to see anything. I believe I have found the issue. The flame particles in the hall emit light, but not when the effect quality is too low. At the start of the hall there is static lighting, but further down there isn’t. So, if the effect quality is turned down there will be zero lighting. So, I added some static lighting in the area in case you have those settings turned down. If this still doesn’t fix the issue, please let me know.

- The Mountain Area with the Floating Land Masses.

It was reported that that if you saved while on the floating masses of land and reloaded your game, the clouds that lead you back to the main puzzle area are no longer visible and can no longer be crossed, leaving the player stranded on the island. This has been fixed and should now save and load properly.

- Sprinting Issue.

There was an issue reported with sprinting. This had to do with the bindings for the gamepad interfering with the keyboard bindings. This should work properly now.

Update 1.02

Yes, there is an Easy mode now. This will 1/2 all damage taken, including fall damage, and double the amount of healing from potions. Stuff that is intended to insta-kill a player will still do so, including falls from great distances.

I’ve also added a couple more areas in which the player can completely restore their health.

I did not intend for this game to be super hard, the last level maybe, but for the most part I don’t want it to be super frustrating. So, if you feel it is still too difficult then please let me know.

There are key-bindings for the keyboard now, but after recompiling the entire game and getting it ready to upload I noticed they are not being saved properly. If you exit the game completely and continue from a saved game they will be back to the defaults. I will fix this in the next day or two. I meant to have it all working for this update.

I have made several changes to the desert map. You should no longer be able to cheat through this zone by out running the aggroed mobs to make it to the Egyptian temple. This was not the intended way of completing that zone. This was also causing the save game feature to be locked, which made it impossible to save after you entered the temple. This should work properly now. Also, you shouldn’t be able to sneak around behind the rocks to get passed the raptors. I don’t want to spoil anything, but you can get passed them another way.

In the alien base on the island level I fixed and issue where the mechanical beetle spawns were not registering as destroyed properly. I also fixed an issue with the 4 power nodes only requiring 1 fuse to activate all four nodes, this appeared to only happen when a fuse was the only thing that was in your inventory.

In the dark fantasy forest area, I also fixed a similar issue with the 3 stones for the 3 guardian statues. I also fixed the tree with the masks, the mechanics of one of the masks was not working properly.

Fixed an issue with player health going above the allotted amount and made it so you can no longer drink a potion if your health is full, in case you hit it by mistake.

Noticed a platform in the final level was invisible to the player, that is not fixed.

I intended to have the game pause when the main menu was up, but that disables all gameplay which makes the gamepad not work at all to make menu selections, though you can still use the mouse. If I find a way to fix this, I’ll will add it to the next update.

Thanks for your patience. I am the sole developer for this game and work on it part time. I know waiting for updates can be frustrating and apologize if they may take longer than normal. Please let me know if any of these changes may have screwed up something else. Thanks!

New Update Coming Soon.

Hope to have the next update out this week.

Adding key bindings for keyboard only at the moment. It has caused some issues with the gamepad controls which i have to clear up still.

Also adding an "Easy" mode. This will 1/2 all damage in the game except for damage that is intended to insta-kill the player. This will also make each healing pot heal double the initial amount. "Normal" mode will remain unchanged as well as "Hard" mode.

I have also added a couple more spots in which you can heal up completely.

Fixed various issues with the mech lady bugs spawn points not triggering the door to open correctly once destroyed and fixed a couple issues that i noticed with the player's health bar not working as intended.

New Game Update

Hello all!

Autosaves have been added to the game now. You can still save manually if you'd like. The play button on the title screen will continue from the latest save. You can choose to load from the autosave or player save in the in-game main menu or during the player death options.

Also added graphic options on the start menu to allow players to lower the graphics before starting a new game since the defaults were set rather high. This may require all players to reset their graphics back to their desired settings. Sorry for that inconvenience.

Added an Invert mouse/gamepad Y-Axis option in the in-game main menu as well.

I still plan to work on adding Key Bindings to the options menu in the next update.

Thanks!

Beta Test Closing Sunday May 27th at ~ 12PM EST

I wanna thank my Beta testers out there for helping test the game and letting me know what is not working properly. I will be ending the test this Sunday around noon so I can get the game in full release mode. I have been changing things along the way so hopefully there isn't too much I'll need to do to get the game ready for release. I'll be excited to actually have an actual release date soon to share with everyone.

Thanks again and I look forward to sharing my first Adventure/Puzzle game with the awesome Steam community.
