Update 5 - Sandbox Mode
Greetings Trainscapers:
It's time to build to your heart's content. Introducing Sandbox Mode, which has no quantity restriction on trains, props, and all sorts of fun objects! To access the Sandbox Mode, simply use God-mote on the door.
The building interface is the same and layouts saved within Sandbox Mode will have a little label on them. Use the door to return to Normal Mode, where you'd have access to your Steam Inventory objects.
Thank you for CHOO-ing Trainscape and happy building!
Team Bit Toys
Sandbox Mode
Toggle between Sandbox Mode and Normal Mode with the God-mote and the workshop door
While in Sandbox Mode, gain access to unlimited quantities of select objects with Mr. Claw
Saved layout will have an additional SB label
Steam Inventory objects are inaccessible while in Sandbox Mode
Build and decorate just like the Normal Mode
Other Changes & Bug Fixes
Improved auto-connect when building circular tracks with small radii
Tools will now show up in screenshots
While holding an object with Mr. Claw, only the D-Pad (used for rotating the object) is visible
D-Pad LEFT on God-mote will now cycle through 3 display modes for Triggers: 1) show Triggers & links, 2) show Triggers only, and 3) hide all
Added sound effects to Trigger related actions
Update 4 - Triggers
Greetings Fellow Trainscapers!
As hinted in Update 3, we were working on a new & complex system. It is by no means complete, but we felt it's time to let you have a run at it.
Triggers are special objects that can be linked to any remote-controllable objects. An example of a remote-controllable object is the Locomotive, which you turn on/off, blow whistle, and change the speed. Though the number of such objects are limited at this moment, we plan to add more as time goes on.
By placing a Trigger in the world and link it to a remote-controllable object, you can then program the Trigger to one of the commands of the linked remote-controllable object. For instance, turn the Locomotive on/off. Once that's done, whenever an object collides with the Trigger, it would fire that command to the remote-controllable object.
Triggers are handy when you want to conduct trains quickly without using the God-mote to point at them. 5 Triggers are available in this week's freebie gift box.
Have a go and let us know what you think. Until then, Update 5!

Update 3 - Multiple Save Slots
Greetings Fellow Trainscapers!
Update 3 is relatively small but adds a feature that many of us wanted when we first shipped the game - multiple save slots! Now you can create new layouts without overwriting previous creations.
We are also working on a big system for Update 4. It is rather complex but a very exciting one. We will share details when we make more forward progress.
Keep chugging!

Tool: God-mote
Ride the locomotive! Highlight a train with the God-mote and use D-Pad UP to jump inside the cabin. While riding the train, you can continue to swipe D-Pad LEFT/RIGHT to change its speed. Use D-Pad DOWN to exit. You can even blow the whistle with D-Pad LEFT!
Switch TV channels when there is more than 1 locomotive on the table
TV will automatically turn off when there are no valid locomotives in play
Tool: Mr. Claw
Highlighting a pose-able character will now give it a proper outline
Improved train placements, especially on elevated tracks
ALT (hold trigger on non-tool hand) allows trains to be placed on the table instead of being forced to stick to tracks
Fixed a bug which would occasionally prevent trains from being placed on highlighted track
Tool: Track Gun
ALT (hold trigger on non-tool hand) will hide spike balls from view, which makes selecting small track segments possible
Delete track segment button has been mapped to D-Pad DOWN to avoid accidental deletions
Improved track loop-closing assistant. Reminder that loop-closing algorithm only kicks in when 2 open ended tracks segments are within 90-degrees angle of each other
Improved snapping to existing guides
Preview track segment is now tinted blue
New Starter Marker will no longer inherit grade setting from the last track segment placed
General UI improvement while building tracks
System
Improved physics between world objects, especially between small objects such as placing a person on a bench. (Train physics will be improved in future updates)
Added controller haptic feedback throughout the experience
Tweaks to sound effects and behaviors
Fixed a bug where character poses are not properly restored on load

New contents are available through Gift Boxes, which will be dropped on a weekly basis
Each Gift Box will yield a new item
New items include tank car, boxcar, grain silo, chef, baggage cart, tents, special edition cows, and more!
Known Issues
Certain poses will cause the pose-able character to slide across the table; try placing them with ALT (hold trigger on non-tool hand)
Switching tools while holding an object would make that object harder to pickup
When coupling train cars together, sometimes the train car that is being connected to may do a 180 flip
Visual effects from unboxing Starter Kit and Gift Box may appear black
Sneak Peek: Riding Trains
Greetings Fellow Trainscapers!
The most requested feature since we launched a week ago was the ability to ride your own trains. So we bumped that to the top of our priority list, and here are a couple of screenshots. Enjoy!!

Welcome to Trainscape
We are LIVE!
After a solid year of love and labor, we are proud to share our progress with you through Steam Early Access. This is only the tip of the iceberg!
Trainscape is best played in VR as it takes full advantage of its interface. Players can create and manipulate intuitively. We currently support HTC Vive and will support Oculus Touch as soon as we can.
Over the next few weeks, we will be fixing bugs, polishing rough edges, updating art assets, and collect feedback from our players. Once things settle down a bit, we will shift gear back into development with more features and more content.
Meanwhile, please support us by taking advantage of the Steam Summer Sale. And help spread words among your friends and family!
