WHAT'S NEW IN TRAINZ A NEW ERA?
For Trainz 12 users, the biggest thing you will notice is the graphics engine has been completely overhauled. On a like-for-like setting, your performance will improve (but make sure you don't max everything out unless you have the latest and greatest hardware).

IMPORTING CONTENT
Do not try to import Trainz 12 builtin content directly into TANE (as it will show "missing textiure errors). Please follow this guide to import your content.
DLC IS OPTIONAL
T:ANE come with four built-in routes and thousands more available for free on the DLS. We also provide a couple of hundred DLC items you can purchase IF YOU WANT TO. These items have been created by the community using the tools included in the game. The creators share the revenues from your purchases of DLC. If you don't wish to purchase anything, that's fine, and if you do, that's great.

Trainz begins a new era on Kickstater
We have just launched our official "next generation" Trainz project on Kickstarter. With a brand new game engine, new physics and a long list of new features, we know train fans are going to be thrilled with the new Trainz.
And after just 24 hours, it looks like the project will reach the initial goal!

<*> Fixed a bug related to highlighting text in Surveyor's text fields.
<*> Fixed a bug where the ruler move tool didn't select the ruler.
<*> Fixed a bug where ruler delete tool didn't let the user delete the ruler.
<*> Fixed a bug where the driver's list scroll buttons would not hide with F6
<*> Fixed a bug where some of the loco's wheels were not turning.

Steam DLC Downloads
We have fixed a bug where users who purchased any DLC for Trainz Simulator 12 from Steam were unable to activate and download the content in their Steam Trainz Simulator 12 game client.
To install any Steam purchased DLC please follow these steps:
1. Launch Trainz Simulator 12 and start the game from the launcher
2. Click Get New Content from the game's Main Menu
3. Click Redownload all purchases at the bottom of the page.
This should initiate a download for any purchased DLC you have for the game obtained via Steam store.

Welcome to the Official Game Group for Trainz
2013 is our 13th year of development of the Trainz franchise and it is shaping up to be our most successful year ever. With versions of Trainz for mobile, PC, Mac and Wii and versions for casual gamers through to hard-core simulator fans, Trainz offers something for everyone.
We are currently working on our next edition of Trainz which will be announced later this year. It is something a little different and we will be looking for beta testers from the STEAM community to help us put the new product through some serious testing.

Trainz Sim 12 - Service Pack 1 update
We're pleased to announce that the latest changes and updates are now available through your automatic Steam update.
After applying this update there will also be a prompt to update your Trainz database. Please allow at least one hour to apply the update.
Changes include:
- In-game Downloadable Content (Payware and Freeware).
- Improved multi-player support.
- Updated support for tunnels, bridges, power lines etc (splines).
- Improved session workflow (rules, nesting, copying etc).
- Automatic thumbnail generation for routes and sessions.
- Rewritten train coupling physics.
- Improved CMP error detection and validation.
There is also a very long list of bug fixes and enhancements to all facets of Trainz.
Please note that the update may affect your previously installed content. We recommend that if you have any issues after installing the update that you run Content Manager > File > Extended Database Repair.
Also note that any pre-purchased DLC will automatically re-download and re-install for the new build. You can cancel these downloads or disable them via the in-game Options Menu.
