Transport Fever

Mac patch and next steps

Today we released a patch to fix some issues that came up with the newest macOS High Sierra. Also, we would like to give you more information about the upcoming performance patch.

The Mac patch fixes two major issues on macOS. On the one hand, systems with the High Sierra OS and NVIDIA graphics sometimes caused the game to freeze during game initialization. On the other hand, there was a bug which caused lags when constructing railroad tracks or streets. The patch is already released on Steam and GOG and will very soon also be available over the Mac App Store.

As already announced, we are currently finishing the upcoming performance patch, in order to make the game run significantly smoother. Development of this patch was (and still is) a big amount of work, but we are confident that you will like the outcome. We expect that the patch will be available for testing in March.

We are very happy that the success and popularity of Transport Fever allows us to further improve the game. All the best from the whole Urban Games team!

Thank you and happy holidays

Convenience patch announced

Urban Games is working hard to further improve Transport Fever, with a particular focus on performance optimization. However, in order to achieve a real performance boost, some fundamental changes and therefore more development time is needed.

To bridge the waiting time, we decided to release a convenience patch as a next step. The patch aims to make your player's life easier by introducing several usability enhancements.

As a main feature, the patch brings a scalable user interface and therefore better support for 4k resolutions. Thanks to new fully-functional scroll bars, handling user interface components such as the line manager will be much easier. Also, the mod selection dialog in the main menu and the autosave feature have been improved. A range of additional small improvements and bug fixes complete the patch.

The patch will be available for beta testing starting on October 11 and is scheduled to be officially released at the end of October.

Be assured we won't stop our efforts, and we are confident to be able to release a major performance patch in the near future.

Thanks for your continued interest in Transport Fever and all the best!

End of Summer Benefit Sale Now Available!

Hey there again you lovely people!

The next few days are going to be really special for us, as we’ve teamed-up with the amazing folks from One Gamer Fund and have put our entire library of Good Shepherd Entertainment published titles on sale for the lowest prices each respective title has ever been available for here on Steam to benefit the One Gamer Fund during its inaugural charity weekend.

The One Gamer Fund is a new philanthropic initiative comprised of seven gaming nonprofits: AbleGamers, Child’s Play, Games for Change, Global Game Jam, the IGDA Foundation, Stack-Up and Take This. Between 10 a.m. PT on Sept. 21 to 10 a.m. PT on Sept. 25, half of all proceeds generated by purchases of Good Shepherd games after Steam’s share of revenue is factored will be donated directly to the IGDA Foundation on behalf of the One Gamer Fund and subsequently dispersed among all partnering nonprofits.

This is not all though! We’ve also just launched a special new Good Shepherd Entertainment Bundle to coincide with this sale. This bundle will allow those whom already own some of our games to easily complete their set at a special additional 25% discount! This means that you can add even more gaming goodness to life whilst helping these seven amazing charities and causes.

A number of Twitch personalities will also be hosting special streams to aid the One Gamer Fund throughout the weekend. Individuals can learn more about ways to participate by visiting www.OneGamerFund.org and following @OneGamerFund on Twitter.

We can’t tell you guys how much this sales means to us and how proud we are to be a small part of helping these amazing causes. None of this would be possible without all of your help though, so on behalf of everyone involved in this benefit sale, we just wanted to say thank you very much for your continued support!

Here’s to the power of gaming!

Greetings,

The Good Shepherd Team

Modding contest announcement of the winners

In early May we asked the community to create and submit mods for the “Design the future” modding contest. We are excited about having received many creative contributions, and today we announce the winners!

Contributions include great ideas like a hybrid hydrogen-electric multiple unit, a hexagon residential building, a hyperloop train or a levitation harbor. For those who want to feel the future, we made a Steam Workshop collection with all the creative work here.

Please find the winners on our website.

Congratulations to the winners! They will receive a Steam private developer comment with further instructions.

As promised here, we are currently finishing and testing the upcoming gameplay patch. The patch will be officially released in July. Until then, have a great time!

Gameplay patch announced

One week prior to the modding contest submission, we today announce the next major patch. Based on the feedback we receive every day, we identified many important gameplay requests and worked hard to realize these.

The gameplay patch brings waypoints for street vehicles, explicit line track/terminal selection at stations, consistent people and cargo when modifying infrastructure, an upgrade to ships so that they can carry more than one type of cargo, an unload only feature for vehicles, and much more.

We have also improved other elements of the game, such as tunnels that now actually cut the terrain so that you can see through, or user interface details like that the bulldozer now asks if you are sure when removing large structures. Many additional improvements and bug fixes as well as new modding features complete the patch.

For those of you interested in testing the patch, the beta test is scheduled to start on Wednesday, June 21. Information on how to test can be found in the “Testing version” paragraph in the Wiki. Official release of the patch is planned for July.

It is a pleasure for us to further improve Transport Fever and we are very happy that still so many players enjoy the game. Be assured that development continues, with major performance improvements being still on our to do list. Finally, we look forward to receiving the submissions of the «Design the future» modding contest, and until then, all the best from Urban Games!
