since we want to make patches available to you directly instead of handing it over to quality assurance before, we have created a separate Steam branch that you can activate on your own. This is so to speak a “branched off version” of the official version.
How to activate the “Public Test Version”:
Right click on TransRoad: USA in your Steam library.
Click “Properties”.
Click on the tab “BETAS”.
Choose “public_test_version” from the dropdown list.
Steam will now add a download for TransRoad: USA to the download queue.
Generally speaking, savegames will not be downwards-compatible.
For example, the Public Test Version is v1.0.8b1, and these savegames will not be compatible with the v1.0.7 official version!
Patch Notes v1.0.9b4 (Public Test Branch)
Crashes:
We identified the source of a crash that happened sometimes when zooming in onto a city. This was caused by too many truck motor sounds becoming active. We refined the activation and the amount of truck motor sounds.
Performance:
We improved a lot of function calls and data management issues. This reduces the amount and intensity of lags during the game. It includes the moment when an autosave is triggered, when you create your company, when trucks finish a contract or refuel, or when new contracts are generated, for example.
Contracts & Trucks:
Contracts in the contract list were sometimes marked as “does not fit the currently selected schedule” with a yellow warning sign, although a fitting schedule is selected, and vice versa. This has been fixed.
When a truck goes into maintenance and the truck’s current contract is finished by other trucks, the maintenance truck did not leave maintenance correctly. This has been fixed.
In some cases, trucks would not go to the correct next contract in the schedule, but skipping one contract. This has been fixed.
There is still an issue with the same behaviour regarding recurring contracts - this is not yet fixed.
Trucks that were just taken over from a competitor and have not yet returned to a depot now don’t get controlled by the police for their license or the company’s trailer concession.
Other:
The playing speed and pausing has been adjusted to some players’ feedback: the game stays in pause after a truck has first visited a city, for example. A small amount of bugs where the game went into play mode instead of staying paused were fixed as well.
In the quest mode, we fixed a quest that asks you to unlock all clients on level IV.
Patch Notes v1.0.9b3 (Public Test Branch)
Dear community,
since we want to make patches available to you directly instead of handing it over to quality assurance before, we have created a separate Steam branch that you can activate on your own.
If you have started a campaign before v1.0.9b2, we have to ask you to begin a new campaign because of corrupted campaign data, containing wrong data about quests that have been finished or need to be waited for.
Performance:
We improved the overall performance and minimized lags during the game.
We removed unnecessary raycasts of user interface elements.
We removed unnecessary mesh colliders, for example on the highway intersections.
We reduced the resolution of the terrain collider, needed for the camera.
We added static batching for some 3D models.
We reduced draw calls on the animated flags.
We cleaned up the roadnetwork system, containing too many game objects.
We reduced raycast lengths of trucks, NPC cars and farming machines.
We improved the map marker positioning that avoids overlaps (for the city signs, purple clients, truck shops and depots).
We disabled animator components of inactive objects, which still caused some overhead.
We warmed up all shaders when the game is loading.
Please consider switching off VSync in the options menu for higher performance. This may have a very noticeable effect on your FPS.
Turning down the amount of NPC cars in the options menu may improve your performance as well. In the options menu, click on “Quality: custom” and then move the slider to the left.
Contracts & Trucks:
Taking over trucks caused their player ID not to be updated every time, so you might not be able to use them. This was fixed.
Dragging a truck that is already selected minimized the schedule window. This does not happen anymore.
Another case of unfinishable contracts has been fixed. This could have been caused by trucks trying to load another pile of freight after having been redirected to a depot.
Overall, we implemented a lot of “safety nets” for trucks or trailers to disappear, to get stuck in maintenance or for contracts to get stuck on the last trips.
Balancing:
In v1.0.9b2, maintenance has been made a lot cheaper. In this version, it is a little bit more expensive now, but far away from as expensive as before.
In v1.0.9b2, the term-based credits have been unlocked at a smaller company value ($400,000 and $800,000). In this version, they have been pushed back a little, namely to $500,000 and $1,000,000.
Other:
Saving during a campaign story dialogue is not possible anymore. This could have led to blockers in the campaign when loading this savegame or autosave because there are no quests visible.
The quest mode could get blocked when saving during a quest that asks you to buy a depot in a certain city. Upon loading such a savegame, the quest would vanish and be invisible.
When clicking on a client map marker, their input and export goods are listed in the lower right panel. The export goods often did not arrange themselves correctly, but instead overlapping. This is now fixed.

Patch Notes v1.0.9b2 (Public Test Branch)
English
Dear community,
since we want to make patches available to you directly instead of handing it over to quality assurance before, we have created a separate Steam branch that you can activate on your own.
In this version, we fixed another big bunch of contract and truck problems, as well as the first balancing adjustments.
Important: The next patch will take a little bit longer since we are now tackling the performance improvements a lot of you are waiting for. We have identified a bunch of issues we can tackle pretty safely. So please stay tuned and patient as a lot of you have definitely been right from the start - we really appreciate your kind words as much as we listen to your concerns, bug reports or suggestions for changes.
Contracts & Trucks:
We identified two major bugs where contracts were stuck at “14/15 trips” for example or were not deleted at “15/15 trips” for example.
The previous problem could lead to the last truck of this contract to disappear upon returning to a depot, which was fixed as well.
Trucks getting stuck at a client’s loading zone were caused by a bug in the newsticker system. This has been fixed.
Trucks that have a breakdown were draggable to a own depot. This should not have been possible. It could cause trucks to get stuck in your depot.
Moving and switching trucks or trailers inside a depot messed with the hitch status of other trucks. This has been fixed.
The previous problem could lead to single trailers vanishing from the truck list and other messed up truck list displays.
After signing a schedule, the truck list now only opens itself if there is at least one idle truck in it.
Sandbox mode:
The sliders for contract payments, contract deadlines and lines of credit were inverted, so they returned the wrong values. This was corrected.
Balancing:
Maintenance prices have been lowered overall.
Maintenance intervals were increased, leading to fewer maintenances. Moreover, the minimum maintenance interval a truck can ever have was raised.
This made it necessary for us to update all trucks: the ones for sale in the shops, and the trucks in your fleet update their maintenance intervals once when you load your savegame. This means that all your trucks will be reset to a fresh, full maintenance interval one time only - see it as a gift from us :) .
Bernie’s truck shop in New York City now offers cheaper maintenances (some truck shops are more expensive in the country).
Upgrading depots with more parking slots is now a little bit cheaper overall. Moreover, fixed costs per week were lowered a little bit as well, in order to give a nicer, quicker game flow at the start of the game.
The second and third term-based loan will now be unlocked earlier, namely at a company value of $400,000 and $600,000, respectively (was: $1,000,000 and $2,000,000).
When drivers ask for a salary raise, they now ask for less in terms of cent per mile.
Special contracts now yield more bonus payments. For example, when the individual contracts from the special contract would bring you $100,000 in contract payments, you will get about $500,000 on top as the bonus payment if you fulfill the special contract on time.
Other:
Game times differed upon loading a savegame. This has been fixed.
In the Cashflow tab in the HQ menu, the depot costs and the fuel costs were not added up correctly in the quarterly view. This has been fixed.
In the Cashflow tab in the HQ menu, the year display (“calendar week 1 year 2017”) vanished when you cycled through the different weekly views.
Patch Notes v1.0.9b1 (Public Test Branch)
Dear community,
since we want to make patches available to you directly instead of handing it over to quality assurance before, we have created a separate Steam branch that you can activate on your own.
The v1.0.9b1 brings you another couple of fixes for the campaign quests and the schedules, for example.
Please bear with us that unfinished contracts or stuck trucks are not yet handled. These are more difficult issues that we could not yet reproduce reliably, and we need steps to reproduce to find the errors.
These two issues together with stuck trucks in maintenance are our top priority for the v1.0.9b2 that our coders are working on! The following other fixes could mainly be done by other team members, and we don’t want to hold these back from you.
We are very sorry that you need to start a new savegame for the campaign. Moreover, it is advisable to save often in the campaign, for example before finishing any quest.
Campaign:
A very important quest chain dependency has been fixed, causing quests to get skipped or quest to get stuck. This revolves around the section where you have to complete 2 contracts each to Montpelier, Boston, New York and Pittsburgh; and then have to pay the first tax penalties, buy a new depot and level up to rank 3.
A savegame issue at the campaign’s end was fixed that prevented you from taking over Gordon Fox.
Taking over another competitor than Gordon Fox when actually the quest is to takeover Gordon Fox messed with the story chain. This has been fixed.
The formula for the amount of money needed to takeover Gordon Fox was changed for a better gameplay flow.
Contracts & Trucks:
While editing a schedule, the schedule panel sometimes minimized, for example when entering the HQ menu or the marketing menu. This has been fixed by adding a query if you really want to cancel editing the schedule.
While hovering with a contract on the mouse over a schedule with a different trailer, the dragged contract froze in place. This has been fixed.
Every Trade Area client can now not be locked again by failing a contract from or to them. It will be available to you as a basic client all the time from the point where you visit the city.
Other:
The main theme is now correctly retriggered in the main menu once the song is finished.
Patch Notes v1.0.8 (official)
Dear community,
we have now released the v1.0.8 of TransRoad: USA, bringing you a lot of fixes and improvements in performance.
The whole team would like to thank everybody playing the official and the public test version, finding bugs or things they would like to be improved and posting them here in the forum.
The performance fixes we made are currently limited to some lags and hiccups. Regarding the frame rate in particular, we are still working on major issues to increase FPS which take more time.
We are also working on ironing out problems regarding enemy takeovers.
We will continue to release public test version builds where you can participate in testing, if you want to.
For the campaign, savegames from v1.0.7 and from all v1.0.8bs are not compatible, due to changes we made to the quest chain.
For the sandbox and quest mode, we added fixes for existing savegames that will correct some error states, but we cannot guarantee that all states are handled. To prevent unexpected follow up issues and for the best experience we recommend to start a new game.
Performance:
A first step in general performance improvement has been made. We cleared up high peaks in CPU and memory usage when trucks reached their destination and looked for their next route. We will continue working intensively on minimizing lags and improve performance in future updates.
We found and fixed a memory leak, caused by savegame screenshots and some truck materials.
Newsticker elements that piled up excessively, causing lags the longer you play consecutively, have been fixed.
Campaign:
A blocker concerning the quest to unlock your first food factory was fixed. You couldn’t progress if you had unlocked a food factory before the quest.
When you fulfilled two quests after the first tax payment before you had reached rank 3, the campaign was blocked. This is now fixed.
Several quest and dependency improvements.
Aborting a story window with [Escape] now works correctly, not preventing the next quests from showing up.
Contracts & Trucks:
Some cases where trucks didn’t get out of maintenance at a truck shop or depot have been fixed.
We fixed a maintenance that was never finished when a truck that is already on the way to maintenance was sent back to a depot instead.
Doing maintenance on multiple trucks in your own maintenance depot has been fixed. This caused trucks to get stuck in maintenance, never finishing it.
In some cases, trucks finishing their maintenance in a truck shop were not released properly from it. These cases have been fixed.
When you accepted a new contract and wanted to cancel another one at the same time, both contracts got removed from the schedule. This is fixed as well.
A bug has been fixed that could delete all schedules from 2 to 8, leaving you only with schedule 1.
A display error of the contract travel duration of recurring contracts was fixed. Here, in special cases the travel duration next to the green speedometer was too high.
Returning trucks to depots were fixed when too many trucks wanted to enter it at once.
The possibility to switch trucks or trailers inside a depot that have not yet reached the depot caused “ghost trailers”. They were displayed with a red lock in the depot, but weren’t anywhere on the map.
We fixed an error causing trucks to duplicate in your depots. This was caused to path calculations of numerous trucks at the same time if they were already close to their destination.
Economic crises now only start to appear once you have at least two trailer concessions. For example, you cannot suffer from a Dry Van crisis when you can only use Dry Van trailers at the start of the game.
Depending on your savegame’s status (if economic events were already “prebooked”), the popup window for “Economic has stabilized” appeared every day. This has been fixed.
Graphics:
In Cheyenne, we removed some trees that stood on the streets or inside buildings.
In Denver, we removed some rocks that stood on the streets or inside buildings.
We fixed graphic bugs of farming and swamp fields that looked like dark spots when zooming out.
Terrain that was sticking through farming fields in some spots was lowered.
Several graphic fixes, including a helicopter in New York that rotated over time, ending upside down.
The mirrored company logo on the livestock trailer was fixed.
Other:
The unlocking of the second and third loan was fixed.
The calculations of loan rates and balancing of loan durations were fixed.
Several text fixes in multiple languages, where textboxes got enlarged or moved away from each other, so that the texts are better readable.
Several translation improvements.
The “default” tab in the sandbox menu was removed since it only contained default values that you can access as well in any other tab.
In the options menu in the “game” tab, the display of the bottom game speed option was fixed: Here, two arrows partly overlapped so that the icon looked like the double speed arrow.
The camera boundaries have been loosened so that you can pan around more when completely zoomed out, improving the accessibility of southern Miami and northern Seattle.
The achievements “Dry Van uniformity”, “Reefer uniformity” and “Dump uniformity” have been fixed. They require you to achieve a company value of $1,000,000 while only using Dry Vans / Reefers / Dumps.
The counter of visited cities has been fixed.
Known Help:
Running as admin and using the window mode instead of fullscreen can improve performance for some players
Being stuck on a 50% loading screen can often be fixed by checking if bitdefender or other antivirus software is blocking the game
Some users which experienced the 50% loading screen also reported that running the game as admin and verifying the integrity of the game files via steam did help them solve the issue.

The possibility to switch trucks or trailer inside a depot that have not yet reached the depot caused “ghost trailers”. They were displayed with a red lock in the depot, but weren’t anywhere on the map.

TransRoad - Patch Notes v1.0.8b1
Dear community,
the new patch for TransRoad: USA is released on Steam for download right now.
Since we want to make the patch available to you directly instead of handing it over to quality assurance before, we have created a separate Steam branch that you can activate on your own.
For example, the current Public Test Version is v1.0.8b1, and these savegames will not be compatible with the v1.0.7 official version! Once the official version is updated to v1.0.8, your savegames from v1.0.8b1 will be compatible.
For the campaign it is advisable to save often, for example before finishing any quest.
In the current Public Test Version v1.0.8b1, you will find bug fixes from issues we worked on before the release, as well as some issues we learned from you.
Contracts & Trucks:
Some cases where trucks didn’t get out of maintenance at a truck shop or depot have been fixed.
We fixed a maintenance that was never finished when a truck that is already on the way to maintenance was sent back to a depot instead.
When you accepted a new contract and wanted to cancel another one at the same time, both contracts got removed from the schedule. This is fixed as well.
A display error of the contract travel duration of recurring contracts was fixed. Here, in special cases the travel duration next to the green speedometer was too high.
