Tree of Life will be hidden from the Steam store
Hello. Tree of Life Adventurers. How are you doing? I am Chyaya who made this game.
As mentioned in the announcement in December last year, Tree of Life will be hidden from the Steam store for the last time on January 31, 2021 (PST). Tree of Life was sold in the Steam store for 5 years and 8 months, starting with Early Access in 2015.
If you purchased the game, you can always download the game through the Steam library, even if it is hidden from the store after today. We plan to maintain the server on a monthly and The server is always open 24/7.

Hello, Adeventurers. This is Chyaya. It's a cold winter here. How are you doing well?
I am sorry that we stopped developing Tree of Life in March of 2019 and did not say hello often because we focused on the sequel. As the head of this project, I feel a great responsibility for the unsatisfactory part of the game service for 4 years.
There are two main things I learned while making Tree of Life.
The game belongs to the player
Tree of Life was the first game I ever sold, and I was conceited of its little success. As a result, I arbitrarily updated the game and did not listen to community's opinions. But the game belongs to the player, neither mine nor the developer's. This is the biggest thing I've learned.
We will operate the service with as much effort as making a game.
We were initially a team of developers, so we lacked the know-how of running online games. We patched the game in one direction without getting all the players' opinions together. We fixed the good part of the game for improvement (We thought it was) and made it disappointing for those who like it.
In the sequel, adventurers can open the server themselves, so I think you will be able to play the game in a variety of ways that love Tree of Life. In the future, we will collect community's opinions in various ways, focusing on providing new content and ways to enjoy the game.
Last time, we talked with the community by revealing the plans and intentions for the sequel. I think you still have questions about my intentions, so I will try to answer the questions community often ask me.
Q1. What happens to Tree of Life when the sequel is released?
Tree of Life's servers will continue to be maintained. However, many people have expressed concerns about selling the game in a situation where follow-up support is not available, and I agree with it. Therefore, the game will only be sold until January 31, 2021, and the Tree of Life will be hidden from the store. If you have previously purchased the game, we will keep the server. So that you can always download and enjoy the game again through the library.
Q2. Why did you create a new game without updating Tree of Life?
Tree of Life was created using the In-House engine I've been making since 2012. The engines are getting older, and the game gets more and more complex over time. It took a long time to maintain the engine. So we couldn't update the game's content often enough to satisfy our players. This time, we focused on building a better development environment using Unreal 4. Therefore, I think we have laid the foundation for more stable content updates than before.
Q3. Should I buy the sequel again?
The sequel is also sold as a package purchase model like Tree of Life. We are preparing a special trade-in for players who have purchased Tree of Life. We will provide special items to remember the Tree of Life, and a discount on the package price is also included.
Q4. Why should I trust OddOne again?
I don't think it would be convincing to ask to trust us again right now. We didn’t do well in the tree of life and that doesn't change. For now, as I said earlier, I want you to see what we've learned and how we are doing it.
