Game Patch: V1.2.4 is now live!
As always - I would like to thank you all for your support, suggestions and feedback.
This is a minor update unfortunately, I was very sick these past few weeks so I could not work much on the game. I am back again on my feet slowly, so I decided to work on something minor to keep up the pace.
Once again I was working mostly on the optimization and removing some unused files. I also added some new signs, few more decals and added a bit more details such as a simple footprints system which can be seen in the GIF below, and some others.
"Simple Footprints system have been made. If the player is stepping on the mud, and move on the wood then he will make a muddy footprint on it. This will mark the location where the player have been which can give you some time to know which way you came from in the Trenches (if you are lost), however within time - the rain will fade away the muddy foot prints."
This was something simple but was always on my mind - which will be improved upon hopefully.
Once again I updated the outline for the clue to be more visible. This means, each time the player uses the Trench Whistle to find the clue then it will highlight from a much more distance, as this was suggested too.

Some triggers for jump-scares were changed in the game and some were completely removed.
More optimization have been made for the game.
Some textures and materials have been updated.
Reduced the game file size once again!
Some more performance changes have been made.
Added new models, papers and decals around the Trenches.
The sounds for the clues that plays when you use the Trench Whistle, have been improved and can now be heard from a further distance too.
All updates apply to both the normal game mode and the no jumpscare game mode.

'Trenches' Game Update V.1.2.3 - 28/09/21

As always - I would like to thank you all for your support, suggestions and feedback.
This is a small update while I am continue working a bit on optimization for the game and doing bug fixes. I also added some new signs, few more decals and such in the Trenches!
Updated the outline to be more visible when finding the clues. If you are close enough, then the clue will highlight and show it from far away in the fog.

More randomizations were worked on. This means, that some triggers will only apply if you go through a certain location, that is why some players may have different (more/less jumpscares, etc) depending on their chosen path.

'Trenches' Game Update V.1.2.2 - 17/09/21

Game Patch: V1.2.2 is now live!
As always - I would like to thank you all for your support, suggestions and feedback.
If you played the recent build of the game, you may have noticed that there was some major bug issues on the last version as the triggers were not being completely destroyed, sounds were kept on playing and the enemy was getting bugged.
This was an issue that unfortunately happens in game development :( .. you try to fix one thing and try to make some optimization and another thing goes wrong. Unfortunately I did not fully play test the earlier version so I apologize about this. This has been fixed in this version now while some new things has been added.
Fixed a major bug that was not playing audio, making enemy bugged and more from v1.2.1.
Updated the enemy with a new animation and faster to kill the players.
New additional sound effects were added.
Some triggers were removed completely from the game.
New triggers has been made, and different animations for them.
New models has been updated with more high quality ones.
Some minor changes has been made, for example some animations related to jump-scares. One minor example is the piano scare, which has been re-done with a better quality and now plays animations too instead of nothing.
Some more performance changes have been made.
All updates apply to both the normal game mode and the no jumpscare game mode.

This is a very small update, that I noticed while seeing some videos where the enemy takes some time sometimes to kill you and just stares at you. I also updated the enemy with a new attack animation and decrease the amount of animations played.
Fixed a bug that sometimes the enemy takes a while to kill you.
Updated the enemy with a new animation.
New additional sound effects were added.
Some triggers were removed from the game.
Fixed some bugs that took a while to end the game.
Experimenting with some new triggers, where random sounds can play for each trigger instead one.

This update now contains a new button in the settings (in-game) where you can invert the mouse controls as this was requested by some players. (Pull back to look up, push forward to look down)
Added the ability to change Y-axis for the mouse and invert the controls.
The new feature can be found after starting a new game in the settings menu.
Added some new additional sound effects for the jumpscares.
Some jumpscares have minor changes made to them.
Fixed other minor bugs and issues.
Fixed a bug which was making some jumpscares appear twice.
Fixed a specific jumpscare that was getting stuck and kept showing, even after triggering it.

Mostly this update contains some bug fixes, and some small changes. We also added points of interests and hiding places in the map layout. This may make things a bit easier to know where you can go to hide from the enemy or where you can find items, if you have a map.
Some changes have been made to the map.
Points of interests and hiding places were now placed in the map layout and you can see where they are. Hiding places are marked with a red dot.
Enemy can now start running at random times if he sense that you are in an area.
Added new sounds effects.
Added new sounds effects to the enemy.
Fixed some randomized jumpscares.
Added some new animations.
Fixed some new triggers.
Fixed some grammar issues.
Fixed other minor bugs and issues.
Some small changes for better performance was made.
The game size is now smaller. (Around 10% smaller then before)

Also, I forgot to update that we also added rotating to items - so you can rotate items you find in the game now. This was made in update V1.1.7.

'Trenches' Game Update V.1.1.6 (Weapons, New Mode, Enemy & More) - 10/08/21

As always - I would like to thank you all for your support, suggestions and feedback. Some of the updates were all suggested by you, so thank you so much and keep them coming! I will be more then happy to hear all your suggestions and feedbacks as this helps me to improve 'Trenches'.
'Trenches' has gotten a new bigger update and one of them is the new weapon system and a new game mode. This is something that was requested a lot, especially regarding the jumpscares of the game. Some of them have been changed or toned down in the normal mode, and while I can work on that - I also added a new mode which is called 'No Jumpscare Mode'. Even though it says 'No Jumpscare Mode' - in reality there are still some, but most of them are gone especially the randomized ones.
Apart from that - the enemy also got a new touch. I hope you like the new one! ːsteamhappyː

Major Updates:
* Weapons are now added in the game. You can find a weapon in the Trenches which can make you feel a bit more safer. Weapons will be stored in the Inventory and can be equipped at any time you want. The weapon will also limit you to do certain things.
* New 'game mode' have been added. A new game mode was added which is called 'No Jumpscare Mode' and this decreases the amount of jumpscares in the game. A lot of feedback went into the jumpscares so I decided to add this mode for now till I can slowly work on the other jumpscares. Please note that some jumpscares are still in the game, however mostly are the scripted ones - all the randomized scares are little-to-none. Some loud jumpscares were completely removed.
* New updated, modified enemy with updated animations. The enemy now have been worked on a lot and looks a bit more alive and feels more threatening. A lot of people asked what the enemy will do when he find you and how is he going to attack you - this will now find a solution to that question.
Apart from that there are some other changes in the game.
Enemy was reworked on and got a new look and it's been modified to look a bit more alive.
Fixed the game winning screen to take more time in order to read the text.
Updated the game ending screen that fits with the new enemy.
Enemy also now have a new set of animations.
Enemy now also includes more sounds for taunting the player.
Updated the navigation of the enemy.
New animations have been made.
Weapons have now been added in the game. Please note this is still a major update and in WIP.
Added guns which the player can use with animations. Player can now find and store guns in the inventory.
Weapons can be equipped by [1] or any shortcuts of your choice. You can change the shortcut in the Inventory screen.
New game-mode called 'No Jumpscare Mode' is now available. You can choose to start a normal game or a No Jumpscare Mode game. No Jumpscare Mode have little-to-no jumpscares instead.
Updated Main Menu - you can now select if you wish to start a normal game, or a No Jumpscare Mode game.
Updated some trigger events in the Trenches.
Updated sounds effects.
Some jumpscares were changed and updated.
Added the option which you can turn 'Smooth Look' on or off in the settings menu. (In-Game Only)
Camera effects settings have been updated.
Updated some notes and pictures around the map.
New sound effects have been made.
Fixed other minor bugs and issues.
Some grammer typo have been fixed.
