Our new demo launches with Steam Next Fest and we'd like to invite you to hang out and participate in our developer stream!
Hello! As we gear up for our demo release tomorrow, we are also getting a stream set up showcasing some behind the scenes footage, some tutorials, some never before seen gameplay, and maybe even some goofs and gaffs we've encountered throughout our development.
We will be streaming on Steam but if you would like to interact directly with us elsewhere, we will also be directly streaming to our Discord as well, taking requests, showing cool stuff with everyone and overall have a good time.
If you are unable to catch us live, don't worry! Our stream will be shown on our Steam Store page, until we have another stream on the 17th, with possibly more ridiculous over the top Trepang2 action.
We'll be doing a stream later today at 1pm PST and another on Friday at 1pm PST. We'll show off some gameplay tips, easter eggs and maybe some funny stuff.
Sorry for not keepin you homies in the loop, we have spent a while working on the prologue and optimizing, as well as horde maps and getting things ready for this demo. Great progress has been made and we are getting closer and closer to the demo release date on June 13th! We will provide more information (and maybe teasers too heh) about new stuff we've added and changed before the demo drops and you all get to experience it for yourself. We're very excited to see you try out a snippet of the game we all have worked so very hard on.
March has been incredibly busy on our end. We've been pumping out side missions and getting Horde Mode Customization in. Not quite ready to show the newer stuff just yet, but we will definitely let everyone know the status on the 2022 Demo, and a more solid release date when we can.
The Blue Danube
To prepare for the upcoming 2022 Demo, I showcased some of the prologue map, played to the classic Blue Danube song. Very fitting for the destruction and devastation.
Trepang2 OST - Pillar of Anomalies
At the beginning of the month, we showed a bit of music for Trepang2 and how writing it can end up taking 8,000 million years. I discussed how I go about writing some of this and the intricacies of trying to incorporate leitmotifs throughout almost all of the music.
April Fools
Every year, April Fools means a lot to us. It's important to have fun making this game, and to interact with you homies. The past 3 years we have done an April Fools video, and we don't have any plans to stop. Some of the things shown here are a work in progress for something that may actually end up being in the full release, such as being able to customize enemies and maybe even friendlies in the future. Here's to hoping.

This month has been very busy for us. We have been working on cutscenes, visual tweaks, and the boss battle for the 2nd mission. Also have been experimenting with player customization, cheats, and a new way to play the Horde gamemode.
We don't have anything we are ready to show from that just quite yet as it is still being worked on rigorously, but we can show this new gun and a preview of one of the side missions:
Bolt Launcher

The Minigun

We've had the minigun available in much older demos for Trepang2, but now, it's finally here and is even more devastating than before. We plan to make the wind-up/down sounds more prevalent and intense as the enemies who wield them are a true threat.
Destructible Environments
[previewyoutube="Q2jifoZiOCM;full"]As you can probably tell, Trepang2 is a game about a Subject who has no regard for order. We still gotta balance the particle effects being a bit too much. This video pokes fun at it too.
Interactables
[previewyoutube="XvNlCLbq7nI;full"]To help the world not feel so static, we'll focus on a more interactable environment, such as computers, vending machines, and even this ridiculous Piano that could have a slew of easter eggs.
Behind the scenes however, we have been working really hard on the prologue map, the intro cutscene, a new side mission, and a bunch of tweaks to the main menu. We may show some of the progress in the coming weeks.

We made a ton of progress with the campaign and weapons (we're super excited to show more soon). We made a pretty cool announcement trailer in the summer and almost doubled our followers on YouTube and Twitter.
We also ran into a ton of bugs along the way....

We weren't able to share as many updates as we wanted to in 2021 because of how crazy our schedule was, but we're making plans this year to be a lot more active our community. You guys matter a lot to us and you're the main reason we work so hard to make this the most awesome (and ridiculous) game we can.
