Which brings us to...
Discord server - Looking for Group
If you want to team up for orc slaying, discuss important stuff or just wish to say hello - great news. We now have a dedicated discord server.
Come say hi at https://discord.gg/EgSfrqH
All that is left to say - lets hunt some orcs together!
PS. Due to balancing issues, Howler Bow and Force Push Scroll will be inactive this week.
Try out the Co-op Alpha!
How about starting your weekend with a few rounds of team orc slaying?
Sticking to the plan, today we launch the Coop Alpha Test. For the next month or two, we'll work on expanding it, until it has all the features (and more!) of the offline version. Coop Alpha Test is available right now on the experimental branch. Feel invited to try it out!
A few things to know before joining in:
Gameplay
There are up to 4 players in each game.
Only Wave Attack mode is available. It has been redesigned for best multiplayer experience.
Orcs get harder to beat the more players are in.
Host player (first one to join) picks the level to play.
Not every weapon is implemented yet.
Matchmaking
Cloud server is located in North America. If you're from Europe, you'll get around 130 ping.
Matchmaking is automatic for now. If there is a game in progress, you'll join it when you start the game. If not, you'll become the host.
There is no host migration as of yet. When host leaves, game ends.
Voice Chat
Voice detection by default. You can enable push-to-talk as well as change its volume in the settings
Number of Players
With this being on experimental branch, expect that there will be times with no players around. It's best to get a friend to join you.
FAQ
Q: How do I enable Coop Alpha? A: Right-click Trickster on steam, select Properties, BETAS tab, choose "Experimental" from the dropdown.
Q: When will Adventure mode be added? A: Mid June, possibly earlier. After the full matchmaking features and remaining items are in.
Q: When will this be on default branch, for everyone to play? A: When all the features from offline version are in and no critical bugs are present. End of June / beginning of July.
Q: When will coop version be available on Oculus Home? A: At the same time as it's released to default branch on steam. I run tests on SteamVR because it's faster to work with.

Come say Hi in the Broken Lands!

Fixed a bug where pooled arrows would continue their trail from last position.
Fixed a few places where orc projectiles would get stuck on invisible objects.

Skyships will no longer drop troops through Cathedral's roof.
Fixed a bug where Find the flock objective in Murder the flock quest could not be completed.
State of the Co-op
As some of you already know, we have a great ambition to bring online coop to the game. The work has already started and I'm happy to say that with client-sided hit detection the game maintains its fast paced and responsive feel. This of course only works now in a test enviroment, as all of the game components are slowly being upgraded to broadcast relevant data over the network.
First test version will be available at thebeggining of May on experimental branch. The goal of this version will be to test the netcode and how well unity relay servers can support a bandwidth-heavy VR game.
What will the experimental version include?
4 player wave attack game mode.
Basic enemies.
Starter weapons.
Simple UI-based lobby system. (boring, but fast and easy!)
Placeholder player models (think RecRoom dismembered ghosts)
PS. Adventure mode should also happen around that time, although the quests will come later.
Update 14 - A Friend in Need
Update 14 - A Friend in Need A big update, just in time for the weekend. Drop into the Broken Lands to say hello to your new companion. His out-of-this-world voice will smoothly guide you through your adventures, with just a tiniest bit of mockery. And yes, we do have some new tools of the trade to try out!
Scroll of Force Ever wanted to fling orcs to their deaths with a flick of a finger? You'll love this one. This short range spell is a great tool to make some breathing room when you're surrounded. Plus, there is something weirdly satisfying about using it. You can find it in Nordhall.
The Kindness Double treat for knife lovers. Its very short range and almost no defensive capabilities makes it as dangerous for the wielder as for the victim. It makes up for it with high armor piercing damage - don't have to look for open spots on heavy armored enemies any more. Its "Fan of Knives" special ability makes it easy to clear enemies right in front of you. As a bonus, holding the trigger on your controller makes the character switch to "blade down" grip. Find it in The Hollows.
