đ¸ 75,000 FREE TriviaBucks for EVERYONE! đ¸
Wonga! Today's Trivia Tricks update gives everyone 75,000 TriviaBucks! It doesn't matter if you've been playing Trivia Tricks from day 1 or if youâre a brand new player, everybody will find this cash injection in their Trivia Tricks wallet!
This change is to address feedback whereby players wanted to immediately create a Trickster who represents them, while still having rarer cosmetics that demonstrate player achievements.
Don't spend it all in one place!
If you missed the news, the Summer Splash event is live until September 1st! Complete in-game missions to unlock exclusive cosmetics. Follow this link for more information!
We're preparing Trivia Tricks for its graduation from Early Access and a full 1.0 release. Just some of the improvements coming in the 1.0 update are...
A brand new stage, set in SPACE!
New achievements and cosmetics
Picture Questions for base game categories
EVEN MORE POLISH!!
Our original Early Access milestones (Co-Op Vs. Boss, Twitch Integration & Steam Workshop Support) were completed all the way back in July 2022, but we just couldn't stop making Trivia Tricks better! Since then we've introduced Workshop Picture Questions, Usable Items, Friend Pass and more! We're very proud of what Trivia Tricks has become today, so we think the time has finally come to remove the Early Access label. Stay tuned for more information on our release plans!
Here are the full patch notes for this update:
Added a 75,000 TriviaBucks bonus. Returning players will find this added to their existing TriviaBucks wallet, while new players will find this as their starting value.
The Summer Splash event items have been moved to the end of the Character Creator so they're visible to all players as soon as they open the Character Creator.
The 'Checking Question Database...' text that is shown at the start of a game has been changed to say 'Loading Fresh Questions...' to show that Trivia Tricks picks questions that the players in a lobby havenât seen yet
Fixed a bug where the credit text in the Workshop Preview Menu wouldn't be shown
Fixed a bug where the Workshop Preview Menu would show an endless loading spinner instead of describing why the picture question wouldn't load (such as the ImageURL missing the file extension, or not being https)
Updated the question database with question corrections and typo fixes. Thank you to all players who have reported potential improvements to us!

Picture Questions OUT NOW for ALL! đźď¸ + Workshop Question Pack Ratings! đ
Hello everyone! Today we have released Workshop V2 to everyone! We'd like to thank everyone who took part in the Beta for helping us check its stability and squash a few bugs.
If you need a reminder of what new features are possible with Workshop V2 then here's a quick run down:
You can now use images when creating questions! This feature massively expands the possibilities for creating questions! Whether it's as simple as naming an actor or solving a complex mathematical formula, the possibilities have been expanded significantly!
Adding an Answer Explanation after the correct answer is revealed is a great way to give greater context to why players may have been tripped up. You can also use this section for sharing interesting facts or force people to read an awful pun!
By allowing questions to contain less than 4 answers you now have the possibility to create True or False style questions. Having fewer options can make a question easier or harder! It's also handy if you can't quite think of 4 answers.
Another feature coming with this update is Workshop Ratings! The community review score of packs has been made visible to help players find great Workshop packs to play with. If a pack has received 5 or more ratings then its review score is now displayed in-game. If a pack has a positive rating of 85% or higher then it will gain a larger symbol! You can also see the like-to-dislike ratio when browsing Workshop packs in the Categories Menu. This feature should connect players with great question packs and help creators with discoverability.
If your pack is not quite where you'd like it to be ratings-wise then we've got you covered. Since we've written a ton of base game questions, weâve learned a thing or two about writing quality trivia! To help boost your ratings we've written this handy Steam guide with tips and tricks for creating engaging questions. Check out the guide here!
Lastly, we've made some UI changes to the lobby menu. Switching between game modes has now been changed to buttons. Hopefully this makes it a bit more obvious you can change the game mode to Co-Op! Clients can also click on these buttons to let the lobby host know you'd like to switch game mode.
Similarly, did you know clients can click on categories to request the host to turn them on or off? If clients do this now then the category background will change colors to help the host keep track of which categories players want to adjust!
Once again, thank you to everyone who took part in the Beta to help get this feature up and running! We hope you enjoy the massively expanded Workshop and can't wait to see what creative packs youâre all cooking up!
Here's a full run down of changes:
It is now possible to view the community review score of Workshop packs within Trivia Tricks!
Packs that have a rating of 85% or above are marked with a larger icon.
The community review score of a pack will not be displayed until it has at least 5 ratings.
The number of questions from a pack that are required to have been seen before being prompted to rate it has been lowered from 10 to 5.
When clients suggest a pack to turn on/off in the Categories Menu, the selected category will now change color.
The method in which players change game modes between Standard and Co-Op now uses buttons instead.
Clients can now request what game mode they would like to play in a similar fashion to how they can suggest categories.
The "Most Likes" option in the Workshop Browse Menu has been removed. As this option would sort by total âlikeâ count we felt this would cause confusion with the shown review percentage.
Added the option to filter the Workshop Browse menu to the last 2 weeks of activity. This has also been set as the default, as opposed to 1 week.
Fixed a bug where the Bits that were thrown by Twitch characters wouldn't despawn correctly.
Fixed an issue where players could request to play locked categories.
Fixed an issue where the error messages for Picture Questions would sometimes flicker.
Fixed a bug where players could suggest Workshop categories during Vs Boss Mode.
Fixed a bug where, if the Categories Menu failed to search for Workshop packs, players would have to leave and recreate the lobby to try the search again.
Thank you for all your feedback during the beta! Like what weâre doing? Hit the thumbs up below this news post! Have more detailed thoughts? Workshop V2 Beta Update Wave 2 (Version 0.9.48.5)
Hello Tricksters! Thanks to everyone partaking in the Workshop V2 Beta and offering feedback! This patch includes general usability improvements when creating Workshop packs, and addresses issues in the beta that the community have brought to our attention so far! If you've missed the big news, we're running a beta for new Workshop features including picture questions!
Improvements to pack creationâŚ
When reviewing a pack youâre creating in the Workshop Preview menu, you will now find buttons which jump forwards or backwards 10 questions, making it easier for creators of large Workshop packs to review specific questions.
In addition, the general layout of the Workshop Preview menu has been improved.
The error that creators would see when a question had a blank uniqueId was previously inaccurate (it would fail saying ârow 0â was empty). It now informs creators that they either have a blank ID or empty rows at the bottom of their file.
The following issues have been fixed...
Fixed a bug where picture questions would weirdly resize for a couple of seconds after selecting to reload an image during gameplay, or as you navigated through the Workshop Preview menu.
The progress bar that tracks picture downloads before a game begins now correctly represents the number of pictures to be downloaded, instead of the number of questions in the upcoming game.
Fixed some typos in a number of questions.
Thank you for all your feedback during this beta so far! If you've noticed a bug in Workshop V2, or there's anything you would like to see changed in a future update then let us know in Discord or on the Steam Discussion Forum! If you'd like to help shape the future of Trivia Tricks then please consider leaving an honest Steam Review letting us know what you think about the game. This will guide the direction of future updates and helps Trivia Tricks to find more quiz heads on Steam! Thank you for following Trivia Tricks!
Hello Tricksters! Thanks for all your feedback from these first days of the Workshop V2 Beta! This hotfix addresses some of issues that the community have brought to our attention so far! If you've missed the big news, we're running a beta for new Workshop features including picture questions!
This hotfix addresses the following issues...
When player answers are revealed, the camera position and on-screen location of the picture have been adjusted so they no longer cover the player nametags.
Added a new validation step on pack upload that ensures all links in the imageURL column must end in .jpg, .jpeg or .png
Added a suitable error message on the TV on the Preview menu in Ganymedeâs Lab to inform creators the imageURL of that question does not end .jpg, .jpeg or .png
To improve the readability of the Image Preview menu that is shown before a game begins, the background color when highlighting the images has been changed from white to light-blue.
In the case an image couldn't be downloaded the error shown is no longer the generic 'something has gone wrong' message and instead informs players and creators that the link may be broken.
Fixed an issue where, if an image from a Workshop pack couldn't be downloaded, the game wouldn't start and players would have to press to cancel and retry.
Fixed a bug where, when the player answers were revealed, if the image had failed to download the area of the screen that would display the image would just say âERRORâ
Fixed a bug where, if the same image was used in multiple questions and the first appearance of this image failed to download, the player was unable to retry the download of the later questions which use that image.
Fixed a bug where the player would be unable to interact with the lobby if they clicked Back during the Workshop Download phase.
Fixed a bug where the player would be unable to interact with the lobby if the Workshop Verification step failed.
Fixed a bug where the âReload Imageâ button appeared in Ganymede's Lab, despite serving no purpose.
This is an open beta, so anybody can join by following these simple steps!

To get the ball rolling with the new V2 features we've created 3 question packs which show off the new features!
Interested trying one of these packs out? Click on the pack above and hit 'Subscribe' to get it in-game!
Why is this a beta? - Workshop is a player-driven feature, so we need player feedback to ensure that we've made the right design decisions before we can consider it complete! Additionally, features like Picture Questions have been complex to implement and may be prone to glitches. We held a similar beta before the release of V1 Workshop and the feedback we received was pivotal to making the feature a success!
If Iâm on the Workshop Beta can I play with others who are not in the beta? - When partaking in the Workshop V2 Beta, you will only be able to join lobbies with other players on the V2 Beta branch. If you want to play a V2 pack with your friends then make sure that everyone is on the V2 Beta branch!
Of course, players using Friend Pass can join in the Beta too. Nobody is left out!
Oh no! I found a bug! What shall I do? - That means we can fix the bug before the beta is over! The fastest way to get help is by posting the issue in our Discord. Us Devs will be particularly active over the coming weeks to track any user-raised issues.
I havenât found a bug, but I have some feedback! - Thatâs great too! The best places to give us feedback are the Steam Discussion Forum or Discord! Over the beta period weâll be prioritizing bugs, but if youâve got a killer feature on your mind then let us know so we can add it to our list of requests!
And of course, we've got some bug fixes for all players in both the standard and Beta branches!
Fixed a possible crash that could occur if the player left and then rejoined the game.
Fixed a bug where the 'No lobbies could be found' text on the server menu wasn't behaving.
Fixed a bug where the âHow to use Steam Remote Playâ menu could still appear by pressing a certain button on the Character Select screen.

Today's update brings the largest overhaul that Trivia Tricks' question database has seen yet, bringing a massive 1,100 new questions to the game! New additions can be found in every category and the existing questions have been reviewed for their relevancy in 2024. With today's update Trivia Tricks now contains over 5,000 questions, and that's before considering the thousands available through Steam Workshop!
As an additional bonus, the category icons have had a much-needed redraw. Please let us know what you think about these new questions!
We're also excited to share that a Beta for the Workshop V2 features will be arriving in the next couple of weeks!
If you need catching up, Workshop V2 will allow players to create and share custom question packs which include...
Picture questions! Include an image that will be shown alongside your question.
The ability to have just 2 or 3 answer choices instead of 4.
Answer explanations, a piece of text which can be displayed to players after the answer is revealed.
You can start creating these packs today, and when the Beta begins you'll be able to upload and share them with other players! Long time players may recall the original Workshop Beta, which provided pivotal feedback to ensure the best experience was delivered for players on launch day. We hope you've been having fun creating V2 Workshop packs and we can't wait to see what you've been creating! If you're interested in being the first to know when the Beta begins please consider following Trivia Tricks on Steam!
If you'd like to help shape the future of Trivia Tricks then please consider leaving an honest Steam Review letting us know what you think about the game. This will guide the direction of future updates and helps Trivia Tricks to find more quiz heads on Steam! Thank you!
Added over 1,100 new questions!
Questions in the base game that were accredited to fans have been removed. This is step was taken for legal compliance and to create a clearer distinction between 'official' and player-created content. We thank everybody who took the time to submit questions to us and encourage you to upload your questions to the Workshop!
But don't worry, even accounting for the removal of player-submitted questions Trivia Tricks' base game has more questions than ever before!
Fixed a bug where players who left when a Chance Round ball was flying towards them wouldn't have their score altered.
Fixed a bug where Mr Tricks would sometimes skip the first question.
Fixed a bug where the camera transition during the ending would break from the second game onwards.
Fixed a bug where the Workshop verification process in a lobby could be broken by pressing Back.
Fixed a bug where it was possible for players to upload the default V2 Workshop pack without any changes.
Fixed a bug where the Anvil effect would be delayed if used twice or more in one game.
Fixed a bug where, if a player joined a lobby midgame, all player podiums would animate incorrectly when their score next changed.
Fixed a possible performance issue when using the right stick.
PREPARE Your Workshop Picture Questions TODAY! đ¸
Hello Tricksters!
Itâs been a while, but thatâs because weâve been hard at work preparing for the full launch of Trivia Tricks, and we have some exciting news to share! With todayâs update, itâs now possible to begin preparing âV2â Workshop packs ready for the big day!
V2 Workshop packs heavily extend the possibilities of player created question packs by offering...
Picture questions! Include an image that will be shown alongside your question.
The ability to have just 2 or 3 answer choices instead of 4.
Answer explanations, a piece of text which can be displayed to players after the answer is revealed.
We are proud to empower our Workshop creators to enjoy the same feature set as the questions that ship with the game. V2 packs canât be uploaded just yet but you can start creating a Workshop pack with these features and preview how they will look in-game!
Simply:
Select âManage Workshopâ on the main menu to open Ganymedeâs Lab (this creates the example file)
Navigate your computer to Documents/TriviaTricks/Workshop/ExampleWorkshopV2Beta
There youâll find the new ExampleWorkshopV2Beta.csv file, which will show you examples of how to use all of these new features in a question pack
If you need a hand with getting to grips with Workshop V2 then please consider joining the official Trivia Tricks Discord, weâre more than happy to help! We donât have a date for the full launch just yet; weâre still preparing the finishing touches, but consider following Trivia Tricks on Steam to be the first to know when these features will be available in Trivia Tricks!
Of course, with great power comes great responsibility. Weâve been looking at how to ensure players only see the content that theyâve consented to see. Therefore, we've created a confirmation screen before any games with Workshop picture questions begin.
This feature allows players to view the domain that hosts the image, alongside giving a thumbnail preview of the pictures before they appear during gameplay. This way you can check for content suitability beforehand, preventing inappropriate images showing during streams. Let us know what you think!
Weâve also been adding picture questions for the base gameâs Geography and Art categories. These will be launching alongside the full game! In the immediate future, weâll be releasing an update that will feature a mass of new relevant-for-2024 questions for the categories in the base game. Stay tuned for more information on that!
If you'd like to help shape the future of Trivia Tricks then please consider leaving an honest Steam Review letting us know what you think about the game. This will guide the direction of future updates and helps Trivia Tricks to find more quiz heads on Steam! Thank you!
You can now view Picture Questions in the Preview Menu for Workshop packs (found from the "Manage Workshop" area of the Main Menu). Please note that picture questions will not be playable until the full release.
You can now view Answer Explanations in the Preview Menu for Workshop packs. Please note that you cannot upload packs containing Answer Explanations until the full release.
You can now view blank answers in the Preview Menu for Workshop packs. Please note that you cannot upload packs containing blank answers until the full release.
The TV model has been adjusted in preparation for the release of picture questions.
The "Workshop" icon has been made more noticeable when a Workshop question is being asked.
If a Workshop question does not contain anything in the 'credit' field then 'Player Created' will be shown alongside that question.
The Stage Select menu has been updated to add a "Coming soon" button for a new upcoming stage that will be available at launch... đ
Fixed an issue where stage elements would be seen âpopping inâ when changing stage.
Fixed a handful of shaders that were missing from the compilation step.
Fixed a bug where playing against Summer would show a single answer on the TV.
Fixed a bug where the game would stop downloading icons, avatars etc. until the game was restarted.
Fixed a bug where avatars would flicker twice after being downloaded.
Fixed a bug where the Workshop Download menu would be on top of the Pause Menu.
Fixed a bug where clicking the top-left or top-right corners of the 'ready' button on the character select menu would change your selected character.
Fixed a bug where the Spectate Screen would show a default message briefly before showing the correct message.
The Spectate Screen now updates as the game moves through different phases.
Fixed a bug where hosts could see progress bars animating back to âemptyâ when re-entering menus.
Fixed a grass clipping issue on the Halloween stage.
The Categories menu has been made more responsive.
As a final note, to support Workshop Pack V2 we've had to update the verification steps that are taken before a pack is loaded into the game. A tiny fraction of packs have become unable to be loaded and the creators of these packs have been contacted with solutions, but it's possible 'friends-only' or 'hidden' packs have been affected too. The issue can be resolved by uploading an update to the pack. But if you're unable to resolve this issue then please contact us on the Trivia Tricks Discord. We'll be happy to help, and thank you for your understanding!
