The Tropico Department of Public Announcements and Life Advice is proud to announce yet another major game and content update for Tropico 5.

- Merged foreign relations and multiplayer diplomacy into new diplomacy interface
- New building: Supermax Prison! Adds new 'arrest' action for citizens. Arrested citizens lose their negative roles at the end of their prison term
- Added population limit slider to options menu (applies to both single and multiplayer modes)
- Added option to disable event minicam (text only notifications will be displayed instead)
- Added option to disable radio messages
- Improved teamster efficiency in high traffic situations
- Corrected 'Qualified Professionals' upgrade for office buildings
- Edicts which can be enabled once per island will now stay active in consequential campaign missions
- Almanac fixes: Removed 'Monthly Production' stat for docks, closed positions no longer count as open jobs
- Fishing wharves no longer produce fish when deposits are depleted
- Fixed 'Uranium Enrichment' upgrade for nuclear power plant
- Fixed a rare case of pirates getting stuck after battle
- Gardens can now be demolished using controller input scheme
- Fixed continuity bugs in 'Franz Ferdinand' task chain
- Rebalanced 'Alliance with the EU' task
- Multiplayer: Fixed rare crash after accessing multiplayer mode from main menu
- Multiplayer: Names of defeated players are now displayed correctly

The ‘Mad World’ DLC for Tropico 5 is out today and El Prez needs your help in the brand new ‘Madness’ scenario! Set in the ‘World War’ Era, things have gone a bit too far for the mighty El Prez this time and the loving support of Penultimo just isn’t enough. Return him to his usual sharp self and share the benefit of advanced health care using the new Asylum building – though be warned: as with all things Tropico, there are two sides to every story. Will you provide health and happiness to the people, or push your enemies to the brink of madness? ‘Mad World’ includes the new ’Madness’ scenario, the all new Asylum building, St. Dimpa sandbox map, the very serious Funnel Hat avatar accessory, and a spicy salsa music track to help lift the mood of the troubled Tropicans!

Starting today, Mac & SteamOS users can now visit the island paradise of Tropico in the award-winning dictator simulation Tropico 5. Embrace your inner dictator and begin your dynastic rule as El Presidente, carefully plotting, coercing and glad-handing your way to complete control of the Tropican isle, all while laying the framework of continued rule through the Eras with the all-new Dynasty System. Take a break from the everyday rigours of dictatorship to increase your wealth and influence by building farms, rigging elections, or dabbling in international trade. While the despotic possibilities are endless, so is the humour in the fifth instalment of the Tropico series.
The Mac/SteamOS Steam versions feature cross-platform multiplayer via SteamPlay, as well as Full Controller and Big Picture Mode support. Plus, if you've already bought Tropico 5 on Windows for Steam, then you can download the Mac/SteamOS edition for absolutely free via Steam cross-buy! "The Big Cheese" is now available for purchase and awarded for free to customers who prepurchased Tropico 5 on Steam before release (May 23) as part of the prepurchase campaign tier reward.
