Turtle's Quest

Update 1.4.6 - Easter Bunny

We hope you're all having a good time during these Easter days, even in times of Covid. While we Kids have some fun playing and feasting, we are working on making things better and thinking on how we can make a pirates-themed multiplayer game better than S.o.T. ... not a chance! We're going to do something anyway.
Improvements: a fresh look at the cliffs was long overdue (it's not final but it's a start).

Update 1.4.5 - Blue Moon

As announced we're posting some advancements on optimization and improvements on the Turtle's Beach scene.
We said that we wanted to allow players to reach ~60FPS with a GTX1060 (on a i7, 16GB RAM) and we realized that settings should be tuned in order to achieve that.

First we improved the Settings UI to allow more control over Video Settings / Quality and Features.

You can play with the buttons to achieve the optimal quality/fps ratio for your tastes.
Here's some advice:
When setting Overall Quality all the sub-settings are set the same but if you have chosen (say) Low and set every sub-settings to Epic is not the same as chosing Epic;
If your card does not support Ray Tracing, for no reason set Ray Tracing enabled;
Ray Tracing comes to a high cost in terms of FPS but quality of the rendering is maxed;
Fluid Simulation is a nice feature, while walking submerged, but it's experimental and some systems can't handle it.It also comes at a certain cost in terms of FPS expecially on lower GPUs.

I show you some screenshots in order to compare settings and results on two systems.

Update 1.4 - Full Moon

It's going to be a week of improvements and introductions:
here and there there are some minor and major things that can be improved in every level so far for the first chapter of Turtle's Quest. From models and textures, to music and sound to UI and UX.

Our plans, for these days, are to look at the models and textures that are not optimized and have a "obsolete" look, as someone pointed out, that make them look like we're playing with an old-gen console. We already started with some elements in the Cabin level.
Continuing on the polishing and improving, we would like to achieve ~60 fps on 1920x1080 resolution, with a GTX1060 (6Gb Vram) on an i7 16GB RAM...we'll se what we can do.

Talking about the plans for what's coming, we are designing the new chapter with better models and textures, trying to keep reasonable FPS, and also making plans for the multiplayer mode: there's already a secret lobby that you can reach from the menu.

For present and future things, we are going to post some screenshots and we are looking forward for you feedbacks.

Se you next update.
