TwoKinds Online - Server Platform Issues and Hiatus
Hi everyone,
I'm sorry to say but due to issues with our networking platform, TwoKinds Online will need to be discontinued for now. This hopefully will not be the end, but for now and the foreseeable future, game development has stopped. Anyone that bought a founder pack will be refunded over the next month.
I wish this wasn't the case but our networking platform shutting down is out of my control. Work to switch to a new networking stack is a year plus of work, and that is just to get back to where we are now.
It has been great working with my fellow game developers and I am thankful for all the players and fans we picked up as we made this game. I love what we built and wished we could do more, even if we never exploded in popularity and stayed a cozy niche MMORPG.
I hope to see you all sometime again.

Halloween 2022
The spooky Halloween event is live!
Ghosts!
Eek, a ghost!! Keep an eye out for a certain ghost by the tavern, she has a few things she needs help with. Fight some skeletons and get special spooky items!
Witchy Vampire Foxes!
The foxes have changed! They are now dangerous witch vampires and need to be stopped. Head over the quest sign in the fox area to get a cool foxy witch hat.
Accounts and Database Changes
Hi everyone, Judah here. This update is full of a lot of internal changes which unfortunately took a while to finish. But it's out now! Check out the changes below.
SpatialOS Update
The SpatialOS integration has been updated to version 15.3.0! This was the bulk of the update and took the most time. We hope this fixes the big memory leak that's been causing major server slowdowns.
Account Migration and Database Changes
We outgrew PlayFab! Our data needs are more than what we can do comfortably in PlayFab, so we are switching back to our own accounts and database system. PlayFab is not bad, but all data in PlayFab is associated with a player account in someway. This makes world data trickier to set up when we want to save dynamic NPCs, add managed town / regions, or anything else that is not tied directly to a player. The way the data was stored, quests were items, skills were items, and NPCs were going to be player accounts. In the end, we decided it would be better to use our own database so we can store all the data we want.
You will see an initial increased load time on the Character Select Screen, but it will be faster once your characters transfer over. Please report any missing items or new bugs.
Basitin Stomp
Basitins can learn Stomp from the Basitin Guard in the Island Town Hall. Stomp is a crowd control attack that hits enemies in an area that only Basitins can learn. Basitins are more tanky than the other races so we are giving them skills that can draw aggro to keep other party members safe.
Other Changes
Optimizations. We are hoping this fixes the big memory leak that's been causing major server slowdowns.
Fix for the chocolate bunny drop for the Easter Egg Event. The Easter Egg Event will be extended for another week.
Inner Mana Color option for character creator.
Pinned Quests on task list.
Test Building Land Plot.
Bug fixes and other tinkerings.

Skill usage progression is broken for the new Basitin Quest. This will be fixed ASAP.
Update and Christmas Event 2021
It's update time and the start of the of the Christmas event!
Christmas Event
It's here! Santa Claus is coming to town, and his sleigh keeps dropping presents! Collect 10 presents from the sleigh and receive a red hat from Santa. Santa only visits at night, so keep an eye out for his sleigh. You can also hear the jingling bells when the sleigh is close.
Start the quest by the inn.
Pat Emote
You can now /pet or /pat.
Character Movement Changes
Characters should move around smoother than before! We adjusted how the server calculates the player's position so there should be less jitters, even with high ping. You may notice other players have some position delay but we're still working on that to get movement as accurate as possible.

TwoKinds Online - Mid November Bug Patches
A small update today, mainly focusing on bug fixes. Our server lag issues are not completely cleared up yet, so these next few updates will be for performance improvements over new features.
Controls Setting Page
A new controls tab is being worked on in settings. Keys cannot be rebound just yet, but should be after a few more updates.
Changes
Level up character and skills now say who leveled up.
Blackberries no longer say they are coal.
Some internal errors fixed.
Chat no longer allows multiple new lines. Please no more Bee Movie scripts.
You can no longer craft with a full inventory.
Slight adjustment to the boob physics while running.

TwoKinds Online - New Combat
Hi everyone, big changes to combat! Other changes include NPC factions, animation system overhaul, and more! Due to time constraints, this is part one of the combat series updates.

Physiology Skill
Combat
Melee combat has been completely redone! Tons of adjustments have been made so the experience should be a lot smoother. Due to the time constraints, this will be part one of the combat updates, soon to be followed by Bows/Ranged weapons, blocking, and improved AI combat tactics.
NPCs will now show relative power levels in their name tags. Normally the information is hidden but can be viewed by holding ALT. Name tags for NPCs will also show basic health information that will increase in detail with the skill Physiology.
Foxes and rabbits are now easier to hunt and no longer will attack on sight. Beware of butterflies though, they are violent.
Sprint
Movement has been changed and there is now a sprint button! Sprinting uses stamina and can be used to break from combat or faster world traversal.
Factions
Npcs are now split into more factions than just violent and nonviolent. Foxes will no longer attack immediately. Town people now react and attack back if they are hit. They will no longer just stand idly and embrace death but will fight back.

New dances! Up to 4 available dances now.
Guild Chat
Guild chat is now available using Vivox. We are liking Vivox so far and will use it for party chat and friend whispers in the future.
Playtest Changes
We are switching to the Steam playtest feature for testing access instead of grabbing a Steam Key from the website. Make sure to request access on the Steam Store page and don't forget to wishlist!
We are also adding some Steam achievements unique to the playtest game, so make sure to get them if you are an achievement hunter. We don't plan on revoking access to the unreleased game if you used a Steam key but we recommend switching to the playtest on Steam.
End of Discord Game Updates
We are ending support of playing the game through Discord. With the end of the Discord Store years ago and other things, we are focusing on Steam as our main platform to play. The Discord version will not be getting any more updates so make sure to switch to the Steam playtest.

We are really excited for what's coming next. We are very busy working on bows, new content, new enemies to fight, and of course always more! Thank you for being on this adventure with us.

Money/Currency
Currency is here! Right now, you can make some money from quests and soon you will be able to buy and sell items from shops. To start, there is only one currency available, the human kingdom currency. In the future, there will be multiple currencies! We will add money for the Keidran kingdoms and Basitin kingdoms, with exchange rates and region dependent values.
Maid Outfit
Always wanted a maid outfit like this? Now you can make one! Go talk to the Tailor in town and they will teach you how to make a maid outfit if you do a quest for them. Happy weaving!
There is a new gathering resource for making Thread and Cloth. Get the crafting recipes from the Tailor and harvest flax to start making thread.
Quest Start Panel
Curious about quest details and rewards? The quest start panel is here! You can accept or reject quests before they go to your quest journal. Your quest journal now contains more details about the quest and their rewards.
Other Changes
Continuing to rework character animations. Our goal is to improve performance to increase the amount of characters on screen.
Low graphic setting now disables Keidran ear floppiness.
Internal changes have been made to create instanced areas for dungeons. There is still a lot of work to be done.
Added fix for players spawning way out of the play area. Someone had an issue with their character spawning very far away and very wrong.
Keidran and Basitin Foot Wraps are back!
