We've been thinking hard on how we want to handle updates that are up and coming, with us making changes to parts of the game that are so intricate and widespread that making any changes really does require a full retest to check out how it's used throughout the game (for example - the camera).
We've decided that we're going to change our build updates so that:
We have an additional "Experimental" Beta available for you. This will have the latest and greatest stuff, as we do it, for people to comment on; help out with issues and what not. But, people do this understanding that it may not be stable, may have unintended new issues (recent example - the helicopter camera breaking).
This branch is active and available now (though the build is currently the same as the standard build). To access it - right click on the game in your library, select properties, select the "BETAS" tab and select "experimental" from the drop down menu. You may need to reload Steam for it to be available. A picture of this is at the bottom of the post.
The standard branch on Steam will get new bulids less frequently. When we do one of these builds, they're going to go through a much more rigourous test process than the Experimental branch builds.
We're not quite certain of what the build schedule for the standard branch will be at this point - it really will depend on how the Experimental branch goes, and weighing up the time taken to test things vs implement more fixes and additions - so we'll see how we go and ease in to it.
What this does mean is that we're more likely to push updates for large-ticket items quickly, for people to check out and give us feedback on. For example:
Initial Spanish, Italian, Swedish and Danish support
Fixes for the button icon replacement throughout the UI
Changes to the level streaming so it's not as annoying running through/around town
Thanks to everybody who's help out with suggestion and bug information so far. Hopefully this will help us continue to make good progress, as well as make sure that the people who don't want to be on the bleeding edge maintain a stable experience (stable for Early Access at least!).
Happy to hear peoples' feedback.
Cheers

TY2 Build r1931_v026 Has Been Released
Hi all,
A new build is up for TY2. And Sly has started selling more merchandise! You can get it on redbubble here!
NEW FEATURES
AUDIO: Implemented VO subbus and separate volume control
AUDIO: Tweaked the audio balance
CAMERA: Full 1st and 3rd person inversion options (up/down and left/right) and camera speed settings (ala TY1 implementeation) are now available in the camera options menu.
CONTROLS: Mouse selection of Rangs has been (first pass) updated. Hold "R" to open the rang selection screen, then you can use your mouse to point at the rang you want. Release "R" to select ("R" with default keybindings). More changes will be coming on this, so that you can click the mouse to select the rang, etc.
SAVING: Ported current MKSettings source from TY1, with support for cloud settings. Custom key bindings will need to be recreated, as we've moved where the data is saved.
WE RECOMMEND DELETING YOUR LOCAL SETTINGS FILE. This can be found in your "Documents" folder, in a "TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2" sub-folder. Note that this will reset all keybindings, audio settings etc - which we think is a good thing so that the audio mix rebalance will flow through.
BUG FIXES
ART: Updated icons for the pause menu tabs and game totals screen.
ART: Added aquarang model to the game.
AUDIO: Tweaks to logo sounds on main menu and volumes/ranges on rangs
AUDIO: Julius Science Fact popups no longer mute music
AUDIO: Shop music tracks should not get erroneously told to stop playing half a second after they are told to start playing
CRASH: Fix for laser crash in the shadow bunyip (and potentially other places in the game - divide by zero issue)
CRASH: Added system for referencing props that may get unloaded while other objects are still referencing them; to help with some of the random crashes
CAMERA: Camera now maintains its rotation after being manually adjusted for a couple of seconds, before rotating to follow Ty. Result is that the automatic camera rotation does not fight you as you run around.
CONTROLS: Fixes for mortar bunyip controls for controller. Animation of movement now mapped to right stick. Left stick is for zoom. R Trigger now also fires (in addition to X).
GRAPHICS: Fix for alpha fade props for shadows to work on them properly
GRAPHICS: Fix for omni light size on flamerang and frostyrang
GRAPHICS: Fix for popping in water shader
UI: Stopped mouse cursor displaying on the loading screen (Red spinning circle with TY logo screen)
MISC: Added some additional startup logs
MISC: Fix minor memory leak at startup/shutdown.
MISC: Removed some log spam
NEXT MAJOR ITEMS TO BE WORKED ON
Control icon replacement throughout cutscenes/UI, based off current selected control device (last device used)
Major rework of data file structure to aid in upcoming language changes
Italian, Spanish, Swedish (text only) and Danish (text only) support
Please continue to let us know any problems you're having via the forums.
Cheers!

TY2 Build r1882_v023 Has Been Released
Hi all,
A new build of TY2 is available. The focus continues to be on improving the areas that you guys are mentioning as being things that most distract from playing the game through, as well as critical (crash) issues. Changes in this build:
BUG FIXES
ART: Activate icon on signs etc changed to match to TY1 (! icon).
ART: Changes to beach water of the overworld (Souther Rivers) to flatten water, and allow ripples.
AUDIO: Fixes for music ducking erroneously muting the audio when going in/out of pause menu, pausing during a cutscene, etc. Hopefully this resolves the majority of this problem.
CAMERA: Fix for everything going crazy when you try to lasharang rings, and you're running at low framerate.
CAMERA: Fix for an instance of the camera position occasionally getting stuck in a position.
CONTROLS: Changes to controller deadzone calculations to try to aid people having issues with "full speed run" (when holding the left stick to the maximum extent).
CONTROLS: Fix so that you control the aim of the 1st person camera with the mouse, if using keyboard and mouse, and not WASD (default binding) - more control fixes are still to come for 1st person view, but this should be a good start for people.
CONTROLS: mouse control of the mortar bunyip (for aiming) and W/S (for zooming) is now implemented.
CONTROLS: controller controls of first person now work more like what we've done for TY1 (both sticks can aim; R trigger can also throw rangs).
CONTROLS: "JUMP WITH TY" is now enabled by default when you start a new game (unless you disable it on the main menu then start a game, etc).
CRASH FIX: Fix for crash if you hit F1 in the game.
RACES: Some rework of the position calculations that assigns race positions after people have crossed the endpoint - hopefully fixing any "not in the correct place for how well you actually did" issues.
UI: Updated controller binding information images to X360 images.
UI: Copyright screen displayed for less time on boot.
NEW FEATURES
GAMEPLAY: Made the mortar bunyip fight in the first level easier (dropships have less hitpoints).
UI: You can now skip videos (eg Krome logo) with common buttons on any device (eg left mouse click).
WHAT'S NEXT
(pending us not needing to jump on to more critical issues)
UI: Display appropriate icons in the cutscenes, UI, popups etc depending on your current control device.
CAMERA: Further fixes to the camera, to reimplement some of the changes we did on TY1 for Steam, into the new camera system in TY2.
CAMERA: Implement full 1st person and 3rd person invert options as per TY1.
AUDIO: Implement separate subbus for VO.
LOCALIZATION: Implement Spanish, Italian, Swedish (text only) and Danish (text only).
Any issues, please let us know. Keep in mind we're in Australia so we're knocking off from work in a few hours, but we'll be back at it in the morning :)
Cheers!
