We've pushed a new build up onto the betatest branch with hopeful fixes for the "at high-framerate get stuck" issue; as well as re-enabling the vsync option.
We'd really appreciate anybody giving it a go and letting us know of any problems at support@kromestudios.com
Cheers

Fix for crash if a ghost
just* beat you in a minigame

New Build on BetaTest Branch
Hey all,
We've been working away on several of the reported issues, and we've popped up a new build onto the BetaTest branch, hot off the press.
These are fixes that have just been completed, and have *not* yet been rigorously tested, so you should only change to this branch if you've having a problem with one of the specific things we've fixed, or you want to give us a hand with testing the changes, and letting us know how things are.
For those people who are getting ROUTINE progression losses - please contact me at support@kromestudios.com if you are willing to try out a super-special build with some extra logging, and email us the results if/when you lose your progression. This is another special branch on Steam that we'll give you a password, to be able to access.
We've fixed ONE progression loss problem, related to if you get to the end of a minigame and exit the game without going back to the main menu, but have not been able to reproduce any other problems.
Items that are currently fixed in the beta branch, that aren't in the normal branch are:
Fix for crash on launch, if the game is set to "English" in the properties of the game in Steam; and your Operating System language is set to anything other than English, French, German, Spanish, Italian or Japanese
Fixed two cases of code getting untranslated strings in the minigame select screen (name of level, etc)
Fix for crash if a ghost
just* beat you in a minigame
Fix for problem where multiple video resolutions may have gotten displayed over the top of each other
Fix in saving stats for minigames which lead to saves failing our save validation checks, causing loss of progression.
Fix for an issue with calling for Steam Leaderboards multiple times while it is downloading the leaderboard data from Steam.
If there are any issues, please let us know either on the reported issues sticky post, or by emailing support@kromestudios.com
To access the beta branch
Go to your Steam Library list
Right click on "TY the Tasmanian Tiger 4"
select "Properties"
select the "BETAS" tab
select the "betatest" build from the dropdown and hit "ok"
Cheers!

TY4 Hotfix 2
Hey guys,
We've pushed a new build live, that has these issues fixed:
Japanese language selection via the Steam "Language" tab drop down now correctly loads the Japanese font
If you hit "exit level" at the end-of-level screen instead of continue; the game will now go to the correct level when you use the "Continue" option on the main menu
The game now auto-saves when you purchase a rang
Minor tweak to the level collision to hopefully improve the "Dennis gets Stuck" issue at high framerates
If there are any issues please let us know
Cheers
TY4 Hotfix
Hey all,
We've pushed a hotfix live, that disables the ability to turn off Vsync, as it appears to be causing some problems at high framerates.
This is a temporary measure until we can get something better in place.
If you have a monitor that is running at higher than 60Hz, and you are having any problems with getting stuck on ledges; or other characters like Dennis not getting to the end of their path; please set your monitor to 60Hz for now.
We hope to have a better fix together soon.
Cheers
TY4 Released!
Hey all!
We're super-happy-fun-dog to announce that TY4 is now out and available on Steam!
We hope that you enjoy the game.
If you have any issues, please post us a message in the forums here; so that we can try to get them resolved ASAP
Leading up to the release this Friday; we thought we’d run an AMA type thing here on Steam announcements.
Basically, post a question here about anything to do with the making of TY1, 2, 3 or 4 and we’ll do our best to answer!
Cheers!

TYme for an Update
Hey all!
So we're a little over a week away from the launch of TY4 on Steam!
We're busily putting together some final touches, but everything's looking good so far.
There have been a few fairly common questions on the forums and on our Facebook pages about the game, so we thought we'd provide a little information for you...
Price Point
The game will cost $5.99USD (and equivalent prices in other terriories).
The game will have a 10% launch discount.
There are no microtransactions within the game (unliked the Windows 8 version). You use opals that you collect by playing the game to unlock new 'rangs and costumes (similar to how TY2 and TY3 worked)
DLC
There will be two sets of DLC available for the game, neither of which has in-game content
There will be a Soundtrack DLC, which will have all the music from TY1, TY2, TY3 and TY4. This is set up to work with the Steam music system (to allow it to be played via the Steam overlay)
There will also be an artbook DLC, which has some behind the scenes concept art from the making of TY4; as a PDF.
Price points are still being finalized for these, but expect something like $20USD for the soundtrack compilation and $6 for the art book, with a 10% launch discount for each.
There will be a couple of different packages for buying everything grouped together, for a discounted price.
Why TY4 or Where Is TY1/2/3?
We've worked to bring TY4 to Steam first for a number of reasons.
The game never got quite the reach that we were hoping for, from its Windows 8 release, so we're hoping that it will be picked up by a wider audience on Steam
In terms of time and cost to port the game, TY4 was the easiest for us to start with. These days, Krome is a quite small independant developer, and funds are limited, so this was an important factor for us.
The plan (the hope) is that TY4 will sell enough units to allow us to port TY1/2/3 over to Steam as the next step, without having a Kickstarter or similar crowd funding efforts. We may look at TY1/2/3 as Early Access, depending on how things go.
In short though, TY4 needs to sell units to help us fund TY1/2/3.
Any console HD-ising or handheld ports of
any* of the games are all subsequent to this - again - it depends on the sales.
Why did you make a 2D game!?
<*> TY has a history as a 2D game... both TY2 and TY3 had GBA versions (which were awesome by the way!)
<*> TY4 was made as a 2D game because that's the kind of game that our friends at Microsoft were after; for the launch of the Surface tablets and the Windows 8 store; and it was a great fit for the style of game that TY is.
<*> The focus of the 2D game is on the platforming (and 'rangs of course!), finding hidden collectables, and is actually pretty close to the style of gameplay that was in TY1 - just flattened onto a 2D plane.
<*> Yes, we'd love to make a new full 3D TY game. We wish that we could afford to do so! Again - we'll be watching what happens with TY4 and we'll have to see from there.
<*> Our ideal world would be that TY4 sells well enough to fund TY1/2/3 onto Steam; which sells well enough to fund making a full 3D TY5 - but honestly, we'll just have to see what happens
We're proud of the game we made for TY4. We hope that all the TY fans and platformer fans out there like it.
Cheers everybody! Hope to see you all enjoying the game on release!

TY4 Release Date Announcement
G’day fellow Bush Rescuers!
We’re so happy to get this fourth TY game on to Steam for a world-wide release – out in just over a month!
It’s taken a bit of time to get things together for this but now many of you will finally be able to continue the adventures of TY with this ripper full-fledged TY story that continues on from the events of Night of the Quinkan.
We hope you enjoy the game when it’s released next month and that TY4 is just the first of the series to make its way to Steam! Hopefully the support we’ll get from the community from the release of TY4 will help us achieve this!
