The main feature added today is PETS! It's a simple system for now, but you can gain pets that are placed onto their own tab on your Character screen where you can summon and dismiss them. They'll follow you around in the game.
Also remember, three of the pets available are referral rewards based on our new Refer-a-Friend program announced yesterday. There are also two pets available as rewards in the game now -- one from a new quest, and one from an old quest (you can reset your quests now, so everyone can still access it). We'll be adding more as quest rewards as we continue to build!
Tracking Releases
We have also made a Pinned Discussion Post with the timeline of the upcoming featured updates so you can know what's coming next Wednesday. Once a patch has been released, we'll add its notes as a post on it so that we have an easy-to-skim log of what we've done and what is coming next.
Pet Tab is added to the Character UI as a new tab where you can call or dismiss pets.
You may name your pet from the Pet Tab as well.
Chat Updates
You can type /help in chat to get a list of emotes available.
Improved stability of the chat.
Chat is now persistent and will not disappear between zones.
Chat whispering will now be visible; use /w or /whisper [name] to send a whisper.
Use /r to auto-fill the last person you whispered for quick discussion.
Additional Changes
We’ve added a friend’s list to help manage your friends and see who is online!
Some quests now reset every night (4 am PST) that are intended to be replayed, such as helping LNR pick up trash in the student district. Will be adding more later.
Added new clothing, furniture, and wallpaper available at vendors.
Added three more quests: Fly Free the Joshua Tree (Mojave), A Favor
Returned (Student District), Population Detective (Amazon)
Added a throwing animation for the Player Character when you use the Tranquilicer ability.
Tranquilicer ability now is broadcast over the network so others can see when you use it.
Items now have a brief cooldown when used, which improves usability.
Known Issues
We're working on fixing them, but here are some known issues we've identified in this build that you may want to be aware of:
Pet names are not saving when switching pets, loading between zones, etc.
When you reset your quests, you won't be able to re-do the park quests as these had the on-boarding quest as a pre-requisite and there's no way to re-do that quest.
If you click to do another Image Analysis after completing all the ones available (i.e. when the badge says "0"), it may cause a fatal error and crash.

You need to be logged in to generate your referral link. You'll also see a link to this from the Community Hub if you log in there.
Share your link anywhere you want! When friends use your unique referral link, they'll see a notice on the top of the store website that it's been applied. Once they've purchased, you'll see your stats update to reflect how much you've earned.
Refer-a-Friend Rewards
So, what do you earn, you say?! We'll be crediting a month of game time for full launch -- you already get 3 for being early access users, so you could potentially have many more months earned when we go live for the full lunch. You'll also get 250 credits in the game to spend on clothing/apartment decorations.
Probably most importantly, we have three exclusive referral pets with special color variations!
For the first successful referral, you'll be rewarded a Leucistic Moon Bear. Second earns a Melanistic Jaguar. Third earns a Piebald Fox.
Some of you are saying... wait, there are pets in the game?! Well, you just might have to wait another day to find out more about that.
Your friend will also be given 250 Credits so they can get some upgrades as soon as they join, too!
First Patch Day Post!
Last week, we accomplished our first milestone: release Tyto Online! And now, we're hitting our second milestone: first Patch Day!
Below are the patch notes. In general, we're going to try to reserve Wednesday mornings for most patches. There may still be some minor fixes between Wednesdays for any emergency issues, but otherwise you should see updates on Wednesday mornings.
We wanted to send a big THANK YOU out to our first week of players. It's been exciting to watch people quest and learn SCIENCE! It's also been great getting feedback in the forums and we hope that continues.
All the teams are working very hard to get more content into the game. And since the largest content patch you'll see is a little ways off, I wanted to give you a heads up now. As many of you know, we previously released a game (that we still support and have DLC coming out for soon) called Tyto Ecology on Steam. Tyto Ecology was originally conceived as a sandbox component for Tyto Online, but due to various circumstances, we pivoted Tyto Ecology to being a standalone, offline product.
Well, it's time to bring that building experience into Tyto Online. While there isn't a hard ETA on this yet, we wanted you to know it is coming. In the meantime, you'll see more quests popping up in the game world through the end of this year, as well as more decorations for your customization dorm room and new outfits for your character!
We'll be tracking the upcoming content releases in the forums starting tomorrow, so you can look forward to the next week's content patch.

Tyto Online is LIVE!!
Hello, everyone! We just hit the button and Tyto Online early access is now LIVE!
[FIXED/UPDATED] We do have a few things we're working on improving and will have a new build up in a couple hours, but couldn't quite make it in before the available launch window. :)
Known Issues that Should be Fixed Very, Very Soon Already with Our Update
We have one known server crash that may be prompted during naming characters that is likely to happen occasionally over the next couple hours.
When you exit to the game world or reach the next part of your onboarding quest, if your quest doesn't update to the next step, run around a bit in the area until it prompts -- you basically have to leave and re-enter the zone that should prompt it.
You may need to zoom your view in a bit if UI interfaces or objects are not available to click on.
You may hear other player's footsteps. Have fun with that!
Food webs will be missing images and may cause a crash.
Again, these major issues willshould be fixed with our update. The update in a couple hours also includes a vast improvement to the custom room UI that one of our devs worked on all day over Thanksgiving, tranquil-icer ability improvement, and a couple new quests.

Launch Soon, but TBD...
Hello there!
We were hoping to launch tomorrow but unfortunately had a mistake with our submission to Steam and submitted something with a bug we've since fixed. We just heard back and... oops. So we've re-submitted and need to get back through the review queue.
That said, we're ready to release tomorrow, but Steam needs time to check over the updated version. So launch date is soon, but TBD for after their review, likely another 3 days, likely Friday. We aren't sure when they're in reviewing around the holidays, so it could be later, unfortunately.
