Dashing will now give you I frames.
Replaced Clever Cloak item with Dangerous Dash

Obviously, this is not the final state of the game! I still have a list of things I would like to add, including new levels and other ways of exploration.

It's been some time since the last post, but I'm still kicking!
So here's the quick life update, The college grind has been kicking my butt since the beginning September... But luckily, the semester is nearing its end. Soon, I'll be working away to prepare for the next major game update. I've already got a bunch of content just sitting around waiting to be brought to life! More on that later.
A new input system?!?! I secretly released a patch that implemented a brand-new input system. I was witnessing and hearing about tons of issues related to input actions, so I replaced it! For controller players, you will definitely notice that the button icons are not there right now. For the time being, I'm using text to display the input mapping. This will be fixed in a patch sometime soon.

This update is but a taste of what future updates will contain. Tons of tweaks and fixes, plus some new features that we'll dive right into.

All characters can now flip side-to-side!
Mercenary:
Now unlocked by defeating specific boss.
Enemies:
(New Enemy) "Muncher", will try to blast your face off.
(New Enemy) "Very Evil Truck", throws down explosive barrels.

Re-balanced and shifted a ton of weapons into different rarities
Items:
"Surreal Storage", Use currency as alternative ammo type.

"Warping Wraps", Projectiles that fly off screen have a chance to "wrap" around.

You can now dash away from enemies!
Chests will spawn and scroll along the road during levels.
The new spinner of doom gives you a 50/50 chance of winning or losing?

The default pistol will now auto-fire.
Three new difficulties, (Easy, Normal, Hard)
Few visual changes to levels.
Tons of adjustments to enemies and weapons.

It's been 3 weeks since launch and... Everything is sailing smooth!

the next major game update is in the works and that will introduce a ton of fresh content, including many improvements to already existing assets. In the coming week, I'll be releasing a new devlog onto YouTube that will feature some of the new content that I've been working on.

Version 0.0.4 Patch Notes + Giveaway Winner
We got ourselves a good ol' patch update.
Characters:
Basic:
Starts with a different weapon.
Bonus plasma damage 50% -> 20%
Non-plasma weapon damage 25% -> 15%
Enemies:
Enemy explosives will now damage other enemies.
Cosmic Bot will fire a lot less lasers.
Weapons:
All shotgun damage slightly increased.
Adjusted price of some late game weapons.
Other:
Explosions sound much more crisp. ːsteamthumbsupː
Various bug fixes.

New Demo Available!
Today,
you will be able to check out a new playable demo!
This demo showcases the core gameplay and playstyle that you can expect from the payed version.
The demo is here to stay forever! No limited time shenanigans.
I had already secretly updated the game previously, but it was nothing significant. Though with this update, I think some changes should be addressed as it does change the pace of gameplay.
Item adjustments:
Some items have received a significant boost as they felt too weak upon first obtaining. These items include:
Flash fire +
Scavenger +
Hard hammer +
Money magnet +
Gameplay:
I've been hearing that the game is a little "too" difficult, so I slightly adjusted some game values without taking away all the challenge. (Its supposed to be difficult!)
adjusted the spawn-rate of a few mid-game enemies
slightly adjusted the base health of a few beginner enemies
slightly reduced the enemy health scaling
slightly reduced the maximum enemy projectiles
Bug fixes:
Fixed weird collision when interacting with weapons from a chest
Overall, everything has been pretty smooth! Still waiting to do the giveaway as we do not have many participants yet sadly :( but I'll wait one more week before I give out any keys.

State of Development
As mentioned, the game is only releasing as early access. The game still offers a ton of captivating experiences and will only continue to grow alongside with major game updates. Just so players know, I still have tons of content brewing up for the near future!

Next Fest Game Update
Uber Destruction X 'Steam Next Fest'!
The game will be available from now till June 20th 1P.M EST (When the Next Fest ends.) With this, I have updated the game with a couple of re-works and balance tweaks!
Notable Changes:
The HUD will now display your 2nd weapon.
The shop has been re-worked to be more generous and find better options for you.
The shop can now offer ammo and health.
Destroying the upgrade capsules bring up a new upgrade menu.
The Pyro Blast upgrade has been re-worked to deal stacking fire damage on enemies.
All upgrades have a new unique passive to add more viability.
Shotguns are much better now.
Ammo and health pickups have a unique sound now.
Tweaked the difficulty scaling to be similar / on-par with the upgrades you've obtained.
nerfed Strong Arm to be less of a bullet sponge.
Fixed a handful of harmless bugs.
The game is destined to have more adjustments and changes in the future!
This should be the last content update till release. TBD! But remember, this is only a demo-preview! In the final game, you will see many more weapons, enemies, levels, upgrades and other game related content. More content already exists but I had to limit the game down to a small demo!
