Hello all,
This is a small but very important update including fixes and improvements you requested recently.

*Hotfix Update v1.1.7*

  • Improved the mechanics of calculations for the guns’ muzzle velocity and range. Now guns will follow a much more realistic pattern of ranges and muzzle velocities according to historical facts. Additionally, the bug of having guns not able to fire shells at normal trajectories due to too low velocity should be now fixed, because the gun ranges will become reduced more effectively based on the shell's maximum velocity. Please report to us if you still see an issue of turrets firing invisible shells (the bug that was fixed with the new mechanics).
  • Fixed gun recoil diminishing during pause mode.
  • Improved the penetration and accuracy calculations after the new mechanics of guns.
  • Reduced the necessity of fuel in custom battles, so that ships will not have a low fuel problem if the designed operational range is at logical levels.
  • Fixed bug that made saved battles to not work.

- An urgent repair has been uploaded addressing the too large gun recoil in small ships. In general, the gun recoil should be now working correctly.
- Additionally, the gun reload is affected more from the muzzle velocity capacity of the gun.

Roadmap till Summer

Hello fellow admirals,

Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts has been fully released but that does not mean it will not continue to be supported with new content or needed fixes. We already have deployed a considerable amount of hotfixes, addressing issues that you reported. We will still provide similar fixes for as long as it will be necessary and we will also provide new content for the game.



Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts should be already playable, stable enough and enjoyable but we will continue polishing, so that we can safely move our development team into new game projects that you will surely like. Here is a brief list of the most important things we plan to offer till Summer 2023:


  1. Weather graphics: Currently we have a few different sea weather graphics that randomize and do not directly link with the weather modifiers. For example, we have stormy weather accuracy modifiers and the generated graphics show a sunny calm sea. We will soon add to the game a wide range of different weather, wave and daylight conditions that will radically increase the battle immersion. You will be able to play even night battles and any weather modifier will directly correlate with the visual experience.

  2. Spotting distances improvement: With the new weather graphics, we will offer a more advanced and realistic visibility mechanic. Now ships that fire remain unspotted and cannot be fired at. We will improve so that even distant ships can be spotted when they start firing and reveal their position, but they will show up as a little faded and there will be an accuracy penalty against them. A realistic fog of war will make ships slowly fade in/out according to their visibility.

  3. New detailed hulls: The following ships are scheduled to be offered in the next months:

    • New York Class Battleship (detailed variants of USS Texas 1914-1946).
    • Atlanta Class Cruiser and variants that can produce Cleveland-class and similar cruisers.
    • C-Class cruiser as a generic interwar cruiser variant.
    • Other ships can follow or replace the above depending on your recommendations and the war condition in Ukraine, since our main modeler is situated in Kiev.

  4. Map graphics finalization: The map includes all the necessary content to simulate the strategic conditions of the 1890 - 1940 time period and is not “flat” as the pathfinding system estimates the shortest route and generates paths via the pacific edge from one side to the other. A lot of players would like the map to have a horizontal “looping” but that would be only aesthetic as the main functionality is already implemented. This aesthetic aspect could generate various new bugs and broken saves that a lot of players will dislike, but we will review if we can improve it further.

    The map will receive the following planned improvements:

    • We will fix inconsistencies in all provinces that either do not have borders or they have wrong offsets.
    • We will fix several UI inconsistencies, including tooltips appearing on top of each other.
    • Any needed graphical enhancement will be made according to your recommendations.

  5. Performance optimizations: We will Improve further the loading times, we will repair issues that can cause lag in battles, check Unity CPU thread management etc. We have to remind players, when we first launched the campaign with a small map and only 2 nations that the loading times were much higher than now, while having a huge global map, 10 major nations, many minor nations and dozens of new strategic features in the calculation tables. So there is progress and we will keep improving.

  6. General UI and Window interface improvement: We will improve the aesthetics of all UI where necessary and will provide better support in window systems so that you can Alt+Tab out of the game in a borderless game window.

  7. Language Localization: We currently plan to offer support for the English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Greek languages.

  8. Fix of all remaining issues or add missing features: This is a top priority. We have already fixed several reported bugs or inconsistencies. We already continue to fix known problems or things you report to us. We have just created the following threads in our Game-Labs and Steam forums where you can mention your biggest concerns, issues that prevent you from fully enjoying the game. We will use the feedback gained from these forum threads to fix one by one everything that is possible or a confirmed bug.

    We will also try to implement any new feature that will be widely requested, if the situation allows it because the majority of the development team is situated in Kiev so we have to prioritize more on fixes.

New and important fixes are available!

  • Fixed an old major bug of gun ranges which could be inconsistent when you saved ships in custom battles, or restarted a custom battle or saved ships in campaign. Now gun ranges will accurately follow the saved technology stats in all circumstances and the gun ranges will accurately display their limits according to shell type used. Aiming and shell ballistics adjusted to follow this important fix.
  • Fixed potential old problems of gun accuracy at short ranges especially when crew training is low and gun technology is very early.
  • Fixed a major campaign crash problem which made saves not playable (happening when ships of dissolved nations were trapped in ports of a different nation).
  • Campaign turn time further optimized.
  • Penetration estimation mechanics enriched with more accurate calculations. You will notice that the penetration estimation will more accurately follow the ship’s range and orientation.
  • Crew kills increased in combat.
  • Other minor.

Please note that the game has just received the following fixes and improvements:

*Hotfix Update v1.1.4*
- Improved shell dispersion: Lessens the chance to hit accidentaly other ships, which could cause frustration to players.
- Further penetration estimation improvements.
- Auto-Design fine tuning.
- Targeting fine tuning.
- Improved gun horizontal aiming, fixing cases where a gun was not able to fire while the target was within its line of sight.
- Special ironclad guns (found in Naval Academy missions) balanced to follow the latest penetration/aiming changes.
- Fixed Ammo UI indication not following actual changes in ammo selection of ship design.
- When Major Nations are dissolved their ships will properly disband. Previously the ships could remain in active service in other ports, bugging the campaign in various ways.
- Various other small fixes in UI and optimizations in the interface.

  • Fixed bug that caused ships to suddenly stop movement or crash the game.
  • Fixed issue of formations that could cause ship direction to jitter fast.
  • Fixed other bugs that could cause battle or campaign instability.
  • Some UI fixes/optimizations.
  • Campaign and Ship Design performance optimizations for a higher fps (not final).
  • Fixed bug that made minor nations seek alliance with dissolved major nations.
  • Balance of campaign economy: Ship Maintenance slight increase / Tech Budget-Port Capacity cost slight increase. Economy could become too easy to manage without these changes. Please note that your ongoing campaigns will be affected immediately.
  • Fixed too low shell velocity which could cause shell trajectories to have a very high arc or guns to not show shells flying away from the barrels.
  • Fine tuning in Aiming, Battle AI, Auto-Design.

What's Next: Plans until Summer

Hello everyone,

Yesterday we have fully released Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts and apparently we have to offer some clarifications to pacify players who think we will no longer support the game.

Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts has exited Steam Early Access but it does not mean it is getting abandoned. It is NOT the final release and we plan to add many enhancements on the game until Summer. Players would have been absolutely right if the game had breaking bugs such as not loading, crashing all the time, having less content than promised in our Early Access notes etc.

On the contrary, the game is having a fully playable campaign, 10 major nations, a complete set of strategic features, and we do not have to remention the replayability of the Custom Battle system and the Naval Academy. The game now can be provided to a larger number of players who wish to enjoy, arguably, a good naval game. Yes, there are some issues. We are actually solving everything that is left and is considered a bug or an inconsistency, but surely we will not be able to please everyone, as it happens with all games.

In the following days you will get from us a complete road map with the remaining features we plan to add on the game plus a set of known issues that need fixing. Features include new weather and graphical environments, UI polish, improvements on the spotting system and many new ship models. We will also create a special thread where you can help us list what is mostly bothering you, so we can try to fix it.

Full Release!

Dear Admirals and supporters of our unique game project,

We are happy to announce that Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts has finished its Early Access journey and today is fully released on Steam! Since 10 December 2021 when the game entered Steam Early Access, there has been an enormous addition of new gameplay features, campaign content and 3D models.



Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts is now a complete game in its main content, and provides you the chance to design 3D warships of the technological era between 1890 and 1940 with an extreme detail to realistic aspects of ship design. We have tried to offer all the necessary details for providing a realistic and immersive experience not only when you design the ships but also when you control them on the sea.

The campaign is offering a detailed map with all the major provinces and colonies of the historical time and provides a full “sandbox” game environment. Every time you play a campaign you will face different strategic situations, alliances, battle outcomes, all contributing to a challenging and addictive gameplay experience.

The game is still in active development, which means we are going to continue enhancing the game with new content and provide necessary fixes according to the feedback we receive from players. We thank everyone who supports us and hope that you will enjoy Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts for many decades!

Hello admirals,

This is the second set of fixes after our recent major update.

*Hotfix Update v1.1.2*

  • Fixed issues that caused severe lag during battle when you selected a ship that had many guns aiming on targets.
  • Fixed errors that caused Major Offensives in non neighboring provinces. Please note that this necessary fix may break ongoing saves.
  • Fixed bugs of war reparation mechanics.
  • Fixed bug that did not allow the detaching of ships.
  • Fixed a major alliance bug which made it possible to have an ally but not become an enemy of his enemies.
  • Fixed some other minor bugs of the campaign.

The game has received a very important fix of lag caused by the new fire control UI and should be now much more enjoyable.
